I was a junior in HS when these guys came out. I'm 49 years old now. Chip Fu and the Fu-Schnickens are still tops for me. Like DAS EFX, these guys simply didn't get the recognition that they deserved. Chip Fu's lyrics and his style is completely unmatched and unparalleled. Amazing artist.
Very intelligent and humble guy, we spoke on Instagram 3 years ago and I didn't expect him to reply or give me love. This dude is pure! There are not a lot of artists like Chip. Super overlooked and to me, he's up there with the greats, brought something different to the game, and rolled with it for the next of his career, was always the dominant one from the Fu-Schnickens. Happy that I saw this interview! keep smoking it king.
Man, I used to listen to Fu Schickens back when I was like 12 or 13. Now Im 41 and went back and listened to both Fu albums today and mannnn that shh still bump fr fr🔥🔥🔥💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥🔥
Chip has been my favorite (I'll be honest, next to KRS) for almost 30 years. I had the honor of driving them for a few shows, and we had SERIOUS fun! We pulled up next to a van full of NUNS and we were cranking Ghetto Red Hot by Super Cat as we were getting on the highway, and, as I recall, one of them 'mooned' the van (I forget which) - they were a blast. Still have all the autographs. ✌️
Caught Fu in the early 90's opening for the Beasties at the State Palace Theater in New Orleans. Had no idea who they were when I walked into the door, but I sure as hell knew what was up when I left! Chip straight-out fucking murdered that show. All these years later I can still remember his lyrical explosion on Sneakin Up On Ya. The whole theater had been bouncing in unison, but by the time those bars ended everyone in the place was just standing there looking at each other like WHAT?! We just couldn't believe what we had witnessed. Bought Nervous Breakdown the very next day and played that cassette to literal death. One of the best (if not THE best) hip-hop performances I've ever seen in my life.
underrated, taking for granted, forgot about, dissed, discarded, nullified and disrepected. Chip Fu..you were then, and STILL are the MAN!! much respect to you and all the native tongue crew.
Great interview Vlad tv brought me here Twista mentioned Chip Fu in his interview and I was like yeah he was cold , and start looking up interviews this man was maaaaaad slept on!!!!
I had no idea he wasn't American born. Actually this is the first time I ever heard him speak. This makes me want to see interviews with a lot of other cats from back in the day. Fu Schnickens was that group!
CHIP-FU is not only an artist, he is a humanitarian. You see, it can't all be just about the music. When people can feel your music but yet relate to you on a human level (not just a celebrity level) that is what determines a person's true character. Yeah, he got skills! Yeah, he's down with Shaq! Yeah, he rhymes fast! But he also helps people (as you heard in his interview). If you wish to be respected in a complete way then this is the way to go. Respect is a two-way street. That being said, I gotta give madd props to my man CHIP-FU... a real stand-up dude! :-) One luv, FURY ANDERSON pka CEE-ROCK "THE FURY" !Handzup! Network [Founder/CEO]
You know what happens when a Chip Fu comes on the scene? The competition talks about you private but not in public , not in interviews . . He scared everybody w his ridiculous talent . He was every rapper’s worst nightmare . I’m a professional jazz drummer , I completely get how great he is and how he treats his voice like a drum. Besides Rakim, the greatest .. EVER!! Should have been a household name but there seemed to be a collective “Shhhhh”
Haha, Nalp retsam eht htiw CM eht mi, -the fastest rap known to man. Glad to see that Chip Fu still has that boyish gloath. It suits him really well. Thanks for the interview.
Look at that. All these years being a Hip-Hop Fan. From Brooklyn {Born & Raised} Also born from Trini people. This Fu-Sh-Nick Cat is from Trinidad?! SMH I didn't know/
Wow such a deep story. I'm glad so see him so successful without the money. I just see him performed at the Barkley Center for the 80-90's Hip Hop To MTA Rap.
when someone was doing tongue twisting in one place there was someone else doing it in another place. so it's hard to say who started it but if we are going by who got signed first and got some type of national exposure then the originator was jaz-o . he came out in 1990. chip fu/fu schnickens and twista's debut albums were both released in 1992 but fu schnickens were more known and popular. bone thugs n harmony firsl album before they got signed was released in 1993 but they were recording it over a two year period from 1990 to 1992. then they got signed and released their ep creeping on ah come up in 1994
Well Poc Fu was on America's most wanted around 10 years ago for armed robbery of an armored car in Brooklyn. Moc Fu turned into a transvestite and got busted for smuggling deodorant from Taiwan about 2 years ago
Homeboy forget Rakim you are in a class of your own your rap style and mad delivery was sadly OVERLOOKED and underrated but yah got a fan in me 4ever bruh✌

He should talk about how they used kung Fu before Wutang!

This dude had crazy style .. No disrespect to the other Fu Schinkens but I always thought Chip Fu should hv been a solo artist ..
He was the Busta of the Fu clan
Bro i always though the same thing too..
Poc Fu is my personal favorite member of Fu Schnickens. Hungry lyricist.
Clyde real talk
Selfishness. That tells you it is deeper than the craft and art.
One nasty emcee. That Ring the alarm....was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
HELL YEAH ✌
king pin track

67.....beautiful.....one of the wickedest flow.....touched by the creative.....bless you Chip-Fu......
Chip Fu the originator of fast rap before Twista and Bone
Nah he wasn't. Twista came out in the late 80s. Recheck your stats.
@iamjungle5703 so did chip.
One of my favorite lyricist of all time. Actually for a good spell, The Fu-Schnickens was my favorite groups.

This is the strongest interview I had ever seen!
In high school I rewinded my tape deck and played again and again “Ring the alarm” because it was and still is my favorite song on that album
Definitely worth a watch. I still wonder where Moc and Poc Fu are.
Haha, Nalp retsam eht htiw CM eht mi, -the fastest rap known to man.

That was between Jaz-O aka the JaZ and Twista he was an early one though but Jaz-O came out before both of them!

Chip fu real Hip Hop!!!
Great interview! One of my most memorable shows was Fu Snick at Sound Factory mid 90s. Whole show dope but Chip murdered it!
I love the fu's blabbermouth
I’d say La Schmoove was the first anthem style song in rap. When that song came on it was time to jump til your head hit the ceiling
Chip has/had one of the nicest rapid fire flows ever!!!
Das Efex & Fu started that fast rapping
Das didn't really rap that fast.
The real rap god
tell me ONE rapper nowadays that can be compared to Chip at least on 50% as a human being and MC on the mic.
Yeah I thought so too.
Me, JID, Denzel Curry, K.dot, etc.... Thank you Chip Fu for the inspiration. #RM
Glad I found you..... Subbed!!!
I'm confident you have dope content based primarily on the fact you uploaded anything Fu-Schnickens!!
