I have this pen and love it. They now have this pen in Dark Blue, Burgundy and the original black, BUT now you can get these with the GOLD clip and trims. Also the #8 nib is 2 tone, silver and gold. It is one of the smoothest nibs I have. You cannot beat it for the price of under $10.00 US.
I have three Jinhao x450s and, to be perfectly heretical, they are super nice and *well constructed* pens! My comparison is a Pelikan M400 which, *of course* , is *way* more fancy but the feel is very similar, and it really doesn't feel, write or feed like a difference of over 250€... (My others are not really similar sized - my Lamy Safari from my school days, along with my drawing Lamy Joy are just *too Bauhaus* for any true comparison and my others are comparatively just too thin and small pens) In short: I really like my Jinhaos (I have one in Ecru and Gold, just like I have my Pelikan M400 in tortoise shell, Ecru and gold and ordered this one in guess what... I love a brighter body with gold applications, I also have a Scrivener in steel with gold) for the feel they manage to carry in spite of being really affordable. They just feel and write *way* better than you'd expect from the price - I bought the X159 on a whim but with a positive and differentiated review I think I'm really starting to look forwards to getting it! Just love the Jinhaos as EDC pens - I carry them with me to work and have them ready to use in the workshop without expecting anything more tragic than a (significant because they are so nice, but hey) substantial moment of annoyance instead of going nuts and depressed like I would for a fancy Pelikan. And I'm also happy now that I skipped getting a 159 since it just feels... I don't know, pretentious? for it's somewhat pointless "bling" with the x159 looking so much cleaner and weirdly enough, much more "expensive" than just tacky like I thought the 159. Thanks for the review! ~Raoul G. Kunz
Thanks Raoul , Jinhao has improved their product quality multi fold in recent years and I absolutely love some of my Jinhao's. Do try Jinhao 82 as well 🙂
Exactly what kind of cartridge converter is it? Is it a standard international or 2.3mm bore? Is it like the one that comes with the jinhao 599 'safari homage/clone'? Thanks
I see that price has shot up to Rs 740.. Also, other markets have x159 in different colors and gold trim which unfortunately aren’t available (yet) in India..
Hi Sathishji, I got it from Pune's Venus Stationery, there the pen is available at that price only. For now I guess they are out of stock but their manager told me that they are going to get a new lot real soon. I hope this helps 🙂
Hi Samee for now its not available in Medium. A few days I saw a video where the guy replaced this nib with the Jowo nib. Will try it myself and update here 😃

Thats absolutely true. The price justifies everything you like or don't like about this pen 😉
Where did you order yours from? Have heard about these and excited it is now in blue.

@@susanscandles The blue one is very dark.

@@Penandpapers Thanks.. Looking for Goldtrim versions to be available in India since I’m a sucker for Gold trim !!
If I get to know about the availability first, will definitely update here 🙂
I have this pen and it constantly hard starts very frustrating to use. Every downward strike is broken which basically makes this pen unusable for me.
Hi Stuart the nib assembly is very easy to take apart. Try widening the feed slit and try using wetter inks . Hope it helps
The aspect ratio seems weird....why the white borders on top and bottom ??
Editing blunder on my part
Hi, Is this pen available in a medium?

I am watching to see if Jinhao offers a medium nib. Perhaps other colors too.
There are multiple colours and Trims available for this pen
@@herrsteppenwolf Was it a #6 nib or a #8 nib, like on the Jinhao x159?
Jinhao offers multiple colours and trims but not sure if jinhao has medium nib option
