Absolutely annoyed they used Eric Draven for this Crow, they could have just created a new crow and people would have been okay with that. But they’re just trying to win people over with the name. I also am not taking this out on Bill, I have no idea if I would like his character BUT it’s definitely not a good representation of Eric Draven, if anything he’s more in line with Michael Korby’s Crow. @@donavinrodriguez6288 First of all, the Eric Draven storyline didn't even have to be remade or rebooted. Any person can become The Crow. i think Skarsgard looks GREAT -- dude is jacked and you don't need white make up with that intensity! i love the idea of a wakizashi as his primary weapon instead of a gun -- makes hand-to-hand combat more visceral! This remake is NOT an insult to Brandon Lee or the first movie (which was FAR from perfect), but just another telling of the story. For you so-called die hard fans, DEAL WITH IT! If Lee was still alive, I'm certain he wouldn't be shitting on Skarsgard or this movie like you are, BEFORE even watching it! Here's another thought: If y'all are losing your shit over this movie using the same names and characters, I bet some of you would commit harakiri if they made Shelly The Crow (which may be kind of hot, imo!)! =)
I feel cautious about this new adaptation of the comic but I cannot lie, I'm a little excited. It looks like Eric will bleed quite a bit more like in the graphic novel and that we'll get to see more of the afterlife which seems neat. It'll take a lot for the movie to fully win me over but with this cast, and what I've seen so far, it has a shot.
My mom was a big fan of the original when it came out, she was in the alt/grungey type circles of the 90s when it came out and loved this movie SO much. She recently had me watch it with her and I fell in love with it too. And we are both excited about this movie! Her, more so than me, because she also loves Bill Skarsgard, but shes just so excited to see this story on screen again. It was something she always wanted, especially since theyre going into the love story aspect of it more, bringing more detail into Eric and Shelly's love before their deaths that we didn't get that in the original and its nice to have it in this version! Brandon's version will always be there. So many people are immediately discounting this movie yelling about Brandon's Legacy, but they went on to make several sequels and a tv show based in the movie anyway. The original was an incredible film, yes, hard to beat, yes, but I really think this new version of the Crow can live up to it.
*In the sequels the "Crow" characters NEVER had the name "Eric Draven", only Marc Dacascos had this character-name in the TV-series "The Crow -- Stairway To Heaven", which hadn't too much success. Also that was just for small screens. No big cinema production.* 📺🎬📽📀
@@NicholasCorvin Ah, didn't know that! My mom wasn't a fan of the second Crow movie and never watched the others, so I didn't know they weren't all Eric Draven. Comment edited.
I personally like the fact that they cast Bill. He's young & looks the part as well, age wise. This serves the story well about young love torn asunder due to the machinations of evil individuals. Brandon was 28 & looked the part too. Brandon had the more authentic look but I feel Bill is the better actor by far so I think he'll do a pretty good job.
I just wish this movie had more of a unique identity. It feels so John Wick-lite like a lot of action movies in recent years. The original was so dirty and grungy and the city had character to it. Also the villains seem pretty run of the mill.
...What makes it John Wick-lite? Seriously, give us a list. Tired of everyone saying this and explaining nothing. Is it the guns? The OG Crow used guns. Is it the sword? The OG Crow used swords. Come on, tell us what it is, unless you're cock-riding the hate bandwagon.
5:35 The Crow - Masterpiece through and through The Crow: City Of Angels - Good movie ruined by rewrites and a shit ending The Crow: Salvation - Solid plot, shitty execution (overacting and some cheesy dialogue), but it has a certain B movie charm about it and a great soundtrack The Crow: Wicked Prayer - no redeeming qualities whatsoever, complete dumpster fire that shouldn't have happened
If this was one of the other Crow spirits then I wouldn't dislike it as much as I do. The original was one of the best comic book movies of the 90's with one of the best licensed music soundtracks of the decade. I've seen the original at least a half dozen times and this is not the Eric Draven that I found so engaging. This is Jared Leto Joker's European Vacation.
I mean the graphic novel and the movie are already out there so if you’ve seen or read them you can already get the jist of whats gonna happen in the new one, trailer doesnt give anything away that hasnt already been revealed in the source material
They could have just other ''crow'' instead of Eric Draven. There are more ''crows'' in the comics Skarsgard is already looking like Michael Korby from ''The Crow: Wild Justice''. Why not use that character instead of Draven?
You know... it only just clicked in my mind that when I talked about this trailer on Twitter, I stated that the closest it came to having its own sense of identity was when it was essentially being emo-Deadpool... and yet, it never clicked in my mind that "True Love Never Dies" was an actual joke tagline for Deadpool.
First let me say that I really think you guys need to go back and please do a reaction of the original before this one comes out so you can be reminded what an amazing movie it was. Now, for my brutally honest feelings about this (not that my opinion matters). This movie shits all over the legacy of Brandon Lee and the first film. There doesn't appear to be a single thing about it that is a "remake" or homage to the original except for the names Eric and Shelly. The original Eric was a rocker turned dark avenging angel, and this one looks like MGK fresh out of a rehab (complete with nipple tats). It's a joke, and the fans of the original are pissed and have every right to be. The original crow is such a special and beautifully dark love story. Gothic in its tone and look and overall feel. This looks like it was filmed on a random Tuesday in methville Florida. I'm not even one of those people that says the original can't be remade because it can but would require a ton of respect and love and care for the original...none of which the people responsible for this trash have. If this were just another Crow story with 2 new characters, then sure it would be fine, but the fact that it is supposed to be Eric and Shelly's story changes absolutely everything. I realize how I'm coming off but the original wasn't just "a movie" for a lot of people. It was a film that many of us could escape to to take us away from some horrible environments or traumas. It was a place we could go to so we could be made to feel that even in this dark painful place there could still be hope and love and redemption. That even if it seemed like it was constantly raining in our hearts or minds that we need to remember...It can't rain all the time.
Brandon Lee's portrayal of Draven can't really be matched. Could have made it a new character. I'll watch it just because Laura Birn (Foundation) is in it. Might not be as bad as some people are expecting it to be. Also could be shit.
Tats are from lil peep which is representation of him feeling like a outcast and outsider due to his depression and anxiety for a quick second in the trailer they are in a psyhic ward
I'll personally say I don't think it looks that bad, The gore and action look amazing, and his outfit is little more comic accurate with the haircut and only black makeup on his face, the main negative thing is that the setting isn't as dark and gothic as it was, it has more of a john wick feel now, and I do think that they should've just used a new character rather than Brandon's character, but I think Bill Skarsgard is a great actor and will do it well, I know this won't in any way be better than the original but I still think it can be an OK movie.
Also this isn't what makes this whole travesty bad. The fact it's being remade is a strong point, followed by the garbage shown throughout that trailer.
Not a fan of this storyline. If they were going to change it so much they should’ve changed the characters names as well like “The Crow:Salvation” or “The Crow:City of Angels”. 4:04 there was an obstruction in the barrel that when they fired the blank it dislodged and propelled the obstruction hitting Lee. The poor actor that fired the gun had nightmares until the day he died. He quit acting for a year. I doubt he ever held a gun in a movie ever again. Brandon Lee had so much potential. “Rapid Fire” & “Showdown in Little Tokyo” were amazing movies of Brandon Lee. The original movie came out in 1994. This one comes out almost 30 years to the day the original came out. The original May 13th 1994 and this one currently June 7th 2024.
You HAVE to react to the original Crow!! So good. Im very....torn on this one. Definitely gonna see it, but I can't say wether its good or bad with just a trailer. On it's own I would definitely be interested in a movie like this.
I'm pretty sure, when this project was first announced Jason Mamoa was actually rumored to be playing Eric Draven. This was years ago though, and then I never followed up on it. I wonder why Jason Mamoa was ultimately ruled out in favor of Bill Skarsgard? Or if that was indeed just a rumor and had no validity to it?
Entirely different production that just quit because they had budget issues and didn't have faith because they felt it was in bad taste to make it similar to brandon lee movie instead of its own thing like the new one coming out
@@HBKCommish i think Jason is just too old for the role now. Personally I would've picked tom Hiddleston. He would've looked awesome in that goth makeup.
Im going to give it a chance. Bill is a great actor. I think this will get the younger generation to see the original crow if they hadn't seen it yet since it came out 30 years ago. I know someone who had never even heard of the crow. Everyone should see the original one at least once in their lives. I personally like how it's not a carbon copy of Brandons version.
As a massive fan of the original, I'm interesting in checking out this version. I'm obviously not going to compare it to the original. I'll treat it as it's own thing. I really like what Skarsgard did with Pennywise and I'm curious to see his take on this character also.
People always forget eric Draven was unhinged almost whilst the crow. It taunted I did drugs mutilated himself to try to feel more pain as punishment. I think this will be good
The Crow 1994 was an original masterpiece. It is an original for a reason. Altering it or changing it, by definition makes this a fraud. I wouldn't say anything if Skarsgard were "doing his own thing." But he isnt. This is literally a remake and he is trying to remake Brandon Lee's character. This is a mockery to cinema and a stain on Brandon Lee's name. They should've just re-released the original.
There are films that may not matter if they make a reboot or not and then again certain movies should never ever be rebooted and the Crow is one of those movies that shouldn't be touched!!!

They should do different versions of the Crow but don't redo the one with Brandon Lee that one is a classic there were plans to do other Crow movies one that was to be directed by Rob Zombie but they got scrapped because the execs were being a$$holes & wanted to control everything. There was even one to star DMX & Eminem plus a female crow called The Crow The Bride about a woman who was killed on her wedding day & she comes back for vengence but like all the other it was scrapped because the execs did think anyone wanted to see a Crow movie with a female as a lead but years later that idea was used for Kill BIll. I would like to see the Crow in different eras that Eric wasn't the first nor the last person to become the spirit of vengence.
After seeing this, it sure made me excited. Reminds me of the time when I saw the movie as a kid. I hope that we get to see a Highlander show again aswell, since it was around the same time
I feel like if the music was darker this would have felt much better. And I heard this is Eric Draven? Why didn't they just use any other person? That's literally possible due to the description of how the crows work. Why reuse the same character? Hollywood, ugh. I'll give it a try but if they make the music all this type it's going to suck. Not dark enough.
People are hating on this WAY too hard. It's a cliche ass story yeah but fuuuuuuuck me some of the visuals are hauntingly beautiful and the others are just John Wick if John Wick had Deadpool powers. Not one part of that is bad. And the music is awesome, Ozzy Osbourne and Post Malone babyyyy
I think it is definitely worth the watch. It *is* of its time, but it is also so heavily stylized, it works far beyond its time. And Brandon Lee's performance is something to behold. He has this astonishing mix of charisma, darkness, sensitivity, and rage, that seemingly only he could have delivered. It's a special movie that a lot of people like to watch every year, on the night before Halloween (for reasons shown in the film). So, plenty of people, young and old, feel like it holds up great.
The action looks decent but I don't see (yet) the chemistry, love between Eric and Shelly and what makes them so speacial (or so tragic/vile about what happened to them) that the Crow chooses this Eric. Hope that makes sense.

The first one is still one of my favorite films of all time, but Bill is such a good choice for this, and I can't wait to see this movie. They did exactly what I wanted them to do... they didn't TRY to be the original and brought the film out of the 90s. It's exactly what I wanted them to do. And I think Brandon would LOVE that the character can now be loved by a new generation.
I completely agree!!! They are doing an adaptation that isn't just trying to redo the vibes of the original and is trying to make it modern!

I think the concept of the crow would work better as a show. Where each season we get a new avenging possession.

Yes, kind of like Dr. Who, but obviously darker lol that would be a cool concept. They could even start with honoring Eric Draven/Brandon Lee’s Crow if they wanted to.
@@sirimity thought about that. Not sure if it's part of the mythology but can do it kinda like the avatar and having shared skill memories. New guy can be stuck in a situation and the crow would show how Brandon or even more ancient crows handled it.

The show based on The Crow was okay but it wanted to be family friendly which doesn't really work for this story....

Absolutely annoyed they used Eric Draven for this Crow, they could have just created a new crow and people would have been okay with that. But they’re just trying to win people over with the name. It looks super over produced, but also they went with the design of a different crow character. Why even name him Eric Draven if you were going to use the design of a different crow 🙄 also not loving the vibe of this Shelly.

I also am not taking this out on Bill, I have no idea if I would like his character BUT it’s definitely not a good representation of Eric Draven, if anything he’s more in line with Michael Korby’s Crow. Tbh I thought the movie looks alright but I always feel like the crow is one of those movies that should never get remade at all or at least the Eric Draven story because Brandon Lee (Rip) perfected that story but I’m gonna give this movie a shot because I’m am genuinely a fan of Bill skarsgard and I feel like if you treated like it’s own thing you will have a less of a issue with this movie even know it’s a hard thing to do but at the same time people love to play the comparison game.
It can't be its own thing because they're using "Eric Draven" as the main character.
@@eatsmylifeYT I’m not saying like that obviously it’s a remake or reboot of the crow all I’m saying is the movie is gonna take elements of the og story but you can do you’re own spin with it while keeping certain elements from the og movie. The Og crow action was nothing like the John wick action from those movies sure they had Weapons and it was violent but not in the way it was choreograph but the choreograph from this crow reminded me of those Wick movies.
@@donavinrodriguez6288 First of all, the Eric Draven storyline didn't even have to be remade or rebooted. Any person can become The Crow. That was the aspect of the character the producers should have remembered. They could have come up with the same storyline but used a different name for the character and I would've been fine with it.
Yeah, I love it!

The Crow: City Of Angels - Good movie ruined by rewrites and a shit ending
The Crow: Salvation - Solid plot, shitty execution (overacting and some cheesy dialogue), but it has a certain B movie charm about it and a great soundtrack
The Crow: Wicked Prayer - no redeeming qualities whatsoever, complete dumpster fire that shouldn't have happened

You know... it only just clicked in my mind that when I talked about this trailer on Twitter, I stated that the closest it came to having its own sense of identity was when it was essentially being emo-Deadpool... and yet, it never clicked in my mind that "True Love Never Dies" was an actual joke tagline for Deadpool.
It was a blank gun
But it wasn't cleaned correctly
And a fragment of wadding left in the barrel that punchered his lung
Brandon Lee's portrayal of Draven can't really be matched. Could have made it a new character. I'll watch it just because Laura Birn (Foundation) is in it. Might not be as bad as some people are expecting it to be. Also could be shit.
Eris Sting just had his last match few weeks back at AEW. The man is 65 years old but still got it.
never saw the original but this trailer looks good
Bill Skarsgard looks like the revamped version of Dante from DMC but w/ Leto Joker tatts🤦🤦
Tats are from lil peep which is representation of him feeling like a outcast and outsider due to his depression and anxiety for a quick second in the trailer they are in a psyhic ward
He looks like a Walmart Tom Macdonald.
Sting just officially retired. That’s crazy
in the original, his wife's assault and death was more brutal.
So u think they gon show Everything in the preview?? C'mon now
Also this isn't what makes this whole travesty bad.

I think so. Sometimes its 90's-ness feels a bit campy now, but I'd recommend it just for Brandon Lee's performance alone.

I was going to do it myself since I honestly feel that everyone has a right to their own opinion even though I know that your knowledge regarding any of the original work is lacking. It seems though that you, or your mods will not allow me to delete it myself. Good luck with watching this, I know many of us will not waste money, or time on it. ✌
Bill skarsgård will own this role he's perfect and a talented actor 👌
Its just another character's story, Michael Korby from the Wild Justice comic, but they named them Eric and Shelly. Stupid. Movie will be fine tho
Given the original Crow is my favourite film of all time, I am sadly not feeling this one at all. Ill give it a watch as I like Bill Skarsgård.
And yes, y'all need to give the orignal a fresh watch.
Same. They would have been so much better off having chosen new names for the characters.
Wow. I saw how many people watched this video so I tuned in.
But really? You haven’t seen the original in awhile. And you can’t remember Brandon Lee’s name?!?!
Instant discred
Yes it’s a red band trailer
Reaction to the crow movies and TV show
