Respected sir, being unarguably the finest mind in the field of English grammar across the globe, you are earnestly entreated with folded hands to enlighten me a tad as to which of the following options would be grammatically correct and which not -Question -He believed that I did it (Transform this Complex sentence into a Simple one) Sir, my probable answers-(A)He believed me to do it (B)He believed me to have done it (C)I was believed to have done it (D)He believed it to have been done by me (E)It was believed to have been done by me (F)He believed in the fact of my having done it (G)He believed in my having done it (H) He believed my guilt.
I'm in debt to you for what I have learnt and still learning. You're one of the best teachers in my surroundings... Thanks for your phenomenal teaching and experience dear sir ❤️❤️
Sir Adam. I learn with you a lot when I have opportunity watch your class. It help me to understand more and more English. I love this language, but I'm still starting this new study. It's always a pleasure to hear you. Thank you so much.
4:42 Mr Adam, if from "the manager" to "the vacation" is our independent clause, and from "to test" to "take it" is our infinitive clause, then what is "not because he was generous?"
Hey Adam, I was wondering if you could make a video or explain to me if you should always place a comma before "then" or when you should put a comma before it? I'm also wondering if you should place a comma before "and then"
This is really amazing! Please make a video lesson on how to differentiate between participial adverb and participial adjectives. Thanks for all your help! Stay safe!
You are amazing adam, your explanation is really simple and helpful. I am actually prepare for pte test and all your lessons mainly noun clause and infintive cluse help me alot in reading and writting

hello Adam, I am really happy to follow you. I have learnt a lot through your videos. It would be a great thing if you recommended us a grammar book. thank you so much
Sir this is really an informative and doubt clearing lecture. Besides, I have been watching your all clause related lectures to clarify my doubts which often neglected by our class teachers. Sir please make more elaborated lectures on "embedded clauses" as in literature reading we often come across with such a single sentence containing 10 -12 lines , mixing 5-8 clauses in a single sentence. Sir you are great. Your work towards improving knowledge in English literature would be remembered the entire world till this materialistic world survive against the aggression of some countries...
Hi Adam! Wishing you a happy New Year 2022... Thanks a lot again for making this video, it really helps me improve my grammar skills. I have already watched your previous video about noun clause many times. Once again, big thanks Adam, really appreciate that. You're a humble & an intelligent teacher, always look up to you. May GOD pay you forward more than you've done to us Aaamiiinn3x......
Hi 👋 Mr. I hope 🙏 you are all right. I have a question if you don't mind.. The best way to change things is to talk to the company's management. In the previous example☝️which one is the infinitive clauses and which one is the infinitive phrase? And why
Thanks for the great explanation, can you please tell how to use "this that these those their them they it" to refer to the part of previous sentense in an article with 2, 3 different paragraph. (Newspaper article)
Hi Adam How's it going ?. It was an excellent video lesson Adam, I understood how the infinitive clauses and phrases work, this video was very educational too, have a happy and prosperous new year 2022.
5:00 Isn't the sentence ambiguous? 1. Ask him (what?) so that he finds out what she wanted, or 2. Ask him (why?) so that you find out what she wanted. In the first case the infinitive clause is the object of 'ask', the thing we want him to do. In the second case it's the reason why you should ask him. The first meaning is probably the intended one but I'm not sure if the second meaning is also possible.
...Hi,i have been following your videos for quite sometimes, and they have helped improve my english too!..the way you explain sth, makes it crystal clear!..that's why i wanted to ask some of my doubts related to english, because i tried to look them up on TH-cam too,but i wasn't satisfied!...i'm having doubts with the followings: what does it means when someone says (1) ..there were as many as 500 people in the meeting! (2)..people are expected to live a normal life even as omicron spreads and mutates further!...(3)..weather is getting increasingly hot!..(4)..well, i will think about it!...what does the word "well", stand for in this sentence?...thanks!😊
Can it be adjective? Ex: I have three books to read . We have homework to be done . There are lots of things to do Can you clarify whether or not (to read/to be done/ to do) are doing their function as an adjective?
When parsing these phrases/ clauses, would they be seen as a separate clause, despite them not being marked with a conjunction? I think whenever I can put some sort of adverbial before the "to" I should see it as a full-on clause. Like, "I did this in order to x", would the infinitive clause be a separate, though dependent, clause? Thanks
In the last example of infinitive phrases, "that you're special" isn't a noun clause? It has a subject (you) and a verb (are). So it would be an example of an infinitive clause, not infinitive phrase. If I am mistaken could you please tell me why?
How is this different to adverb clause of reason (dependent clause) that starts with to+verb? Are they technically the same? By the way, thank you for the lesson. You're a great teacher.
What is an example of a sentence with an infinitive clause? Can an infinitive clause begin with a subordinating conjunction? For example, in this sentence, "To visit Los Angeles so that you arrive on time requires a 5 hour drive," is the infinitive clause, "To visit...on time," due to the subordinating conjunction "so that" beginning the noun phrase up to but not including the verb, "requires"? Thanks.
Idk if you've already talked about the "that" after the clause, but as a foreigner I'd really like to learn in more details when their use is optional or not
Hi Adam, suppose we have the following sentence : ( I forgot to bring my camera ) and I want to make a sentence to regret that situation. Which verb do I have to regret about ,forgot or bring ? I mean where is the main verb . I wish I hadn't forgotten to bring my camera. OR I wish I had brought my camera.
I WISH I HADN'T FORGOTTEN TO BRING MY CAMERA. The main verb is "to forget" 'cause that's the first action, even though it's a causative verb. - the second one refers to the "camera", the action of bringing the camera not the action of forgetting to bring it. Well this is my point of view. Thanks for minding my comment.
@@fredylopez2477 Thank you very much , but in our teacher's book (guide), the author of the book regards the role of verb forget as a negative adverb : that means the action of the second verb " bring " never happens that's why when he regretted the situation he set affirmative sentence " I wish I had brought my camera.
@@AhmedZAli-ee1nj You're very welcome pal. Well that's another way to say the same thing but in another words, like this ; - "I wish I had brought my camera." - "I wish I hadn't forgotten to bring my camera". And that's true, 'cause the action of bringing, never happened, but the action of forgetting did happened, 'cause; - I forgot to bring the camera. AND - I didn't bring the camera. Forget and bring are both negative situations to me, according to what I typed above, so I would regret the action of forgetting NOT bringing. 'cxuse that's the first action that occurred or happened.
