    Im not really a knife maker, but more of modder. I do get a lot of requests for mirror polishing of high-end OTF's and other pocket knives. I can get there, but theres the very slightest bit of haze that i battle with, if turned at a certain angle in the right light. Is that something you ever struggle with?

    That's so much better than hours of hand sanding, thanks for the tip Dan.

    I like the tape on the magnet, nice touch... that's why I bought the Strong hand welding magnet, it has a switch... I tried the ones like you have, but didn't want to scratch my blades... The strong hand cost more, but honestly, for me, the time it takes to tape everything up(twice), it's worth it... I didn't realize they made those belts, I've always looked, but only found 800- 1000 cork belts or Trizact, which are very stiff over A16... Definitely getting some TODAY, haha...take it easy...

    Nice video! My grinder doesn't have a speed controller, so hand sanding is how I get it done, takes a lot longer but the end result is the same. I didnt see any type of dust collector .
    You should consider a respirator, especially with the finer grit belts!!

    You might want to use a magnet to pull the metal dust out of the air & or abrasive belt. What series/Brand of belts do you find work best ? I looked for a felt belt recently, no luck. Who makes the felt belt for the 2x72 Grinder ?

    Great video thanks. Would you suggest hand sanding the bevels or the same on the 2x72?

    I have a question, the joint of the belt does not mark the blade?

      Some belts will. The felt backed fine grit belts work better

    Hi Dan. Please tell me you wear a respirator when grinding?

    • @DIYeasycrafts
      @DIYeasycrafts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes absolutely, although I have to admit many times i just walk over and grind a little w/o it. I should know better!!
