You mentioning that the older a tarantula is the harder it is for them to molt(I think that's the spelling) reminds me that lobsters don't die of old age, they die either because they get too big and they over-exert themself as they molt, or their carapace rots around them.
Or they give up cause they don’t want to molt

Exactly! Definitely more beautiful than most people!
Maybe a tarantula can get stuck in its old skin, become immobile and slowly die. This usually happens due to low humidity in its environment. There's not much you can do when this happens because the old skin will be too dry to remove without harming the tarantula
I’ve been around for a few years on and off because I use this channel to help me with my arachnophobia which it has helped, I can relate to not noticing stuck molts with stuck sheds I didn’t realise when my python was very young his shed didn’t come off on his tail and it rotted off his whip, he’s alright thank everything it was just his whip however it’s sad when we lose animals

Maybe the previous carapace never fully came off last time causing it to push in the softer new molt.

I've been following you for a few years now and i can imagine how much they mean for you. :,)
I have a large collection myself and man you lose a LOT of T's. You should try giving them more humidity when they are in premolt until they finish molting and monitor the larger specimens when they are molting. Just check on them every once in a while, to make sure things are progressing well. You could have possibly helped that GBB although the indent on the carapace is really weird and I haven't seen anything quite like that before. Best of luck in the future. Continue to research about the animals you keep. We learn new things all the time about how to properly keep tarantulas, especially species that haven't been in the hobby very long.

he has mentioned many times in past years that the climate he lives in suffered heat waves and generally he sees more deaths in the summer. controlled environments are quite difficult. his T room does have climate control but as with most man manipulated situations, nature tends to win. another quick note is the age of the Ts is a huge factor. you can have near perfect conditions and 97% of the other animals have a successful shed but the more vulnerable sometimes don't make it!
He’s been losing tarantulas left and right for now … he is not gonna listen to you !!! I agree with everything you said, they look too dry and that might be the cause…. when I first start following him I loved his content but go back and see how many he’s been losing and all the comments warning him … for that point I think he actually doesn’t care and just does it for the channel and get more views bc it’s sad …..

My GBB also got a stuck molt just like the "helmet" case of the one you lost. He's still alive though, and just wearing it like a hat.

I lost my gbb sling a few weeks after getting it. Really sorry for your loss. It's hard when you know that some things are just out of your control.
I just lost my juvenile Mexican fire leg after she molted, it was her first molt with me too. The weird thing is she ate just 3 days before she molted and after her molt she crawled around in a death curl for two days until she passed

They're not that bad. You don't want them in your eyes or somewhere in the breathing apparatus, but skin contact is fine. A stinging nettle is a lot worse in my experience. I'd only be careful when it comes to Theraphosa hairs.
Old world tarantulas like the second one usually don't have the nasty hairs

There doesn’t seem to be enough humidity? Old world need 90 and above? But I’m sure you are aware of this! We would use glycerin only for legs if stuck! I would say to you if you know when they are going to moult , maybe spray just for that period!

That's happened too quite a few Ts now they molt and then just die for no reason it happened too me with my large juvenile female Pamphobeteus sp mascara she molted then she ate after about a week then couple.days after that I found her in full death curl and she wasn't dehydrated cause she had eaten a roach I think it's just 1 them things that can't b explained absolutely gutted though
