1:21. If you want to prevent another such disaster, start off by not allowing contractors to build houses so close together, REQUIRE to build them out of materials that can hold up to fire better, and REQUIRE decent firebreaks. The fire could have started within one of the subdivisions and done the exact same thing even without the winds.
@Messer Schmidt No because you will see the trees or places between the homes not burning, but then in the (bombed-out looking) basements there are separate sections of debris burning.
Vinyl siding is very flammable, the houses are built so close together it's like dominos. I would think hydrant pressure was low because of the demand so water supply was limited. Without the wind the fire couldn't jump very far but catching the next house a few feet away was pretty easy.
Where is all the forest or trees that are causing these homes to catch on fire... and home builders have some responsibility for putting homes so close together that you can touch them on the sides. No side yards no back and front yards just money . Puttting huge homes right next to other huge homes with no land looks stupid and honestly is some of the problem here
Are they introducing drone technology to help firefighters out by delivering buckets of water or flame retardant on top of homes once a fire is started. Or maybe, people can have their own drones and deliver and drop flame retardant on top of their own homes before a fire reaches their area and have the top of their house protected from flying embers. I think drone technology would be very useful here.
It was not bush. Its just grassfield which caught fire and winds with speed of 100 mph spread fires. And these dried grassfield dont even have tall grass. Those were just super dry caught we didnt get any snow or rain this winter season. Its all part of climate change. I live in the area and I had to evacuate too. I was lucky that the fire didnt reach my apartment. Fire literally cross the highway to the other town cause of high winds. You would think that lot of open space or parking space would not spread the fire but it was not the case.

Right
How does a drone fly in winds of 100 mph?
How can I obtain this footage for a B roll in a music video
The perfect storm, wind and fire, it was unbeatable
That's one steady drone. Them trees are pretty stout too.... I guess the wind must have already passed.
One man One drone makes One video for tonight News - what courage what skill -

Right
How did you fly a drone in 100 mph wind???
You don't. The winds had already died down after sunset. If wind speeds had been 100 mph, don't you think this video would've been shaky?
What's up with the burn pattern or lack thereof?
@Messer Schmidt No because you will see the trees or places between the homes not burning, but then in the (bombed-out looking) basements there are separate sections of debris burning.
It's called wind. Don't go starting more dumb internet rumors.

@Messer Schmidt well how did a drone fly in 100mph wind… duh 🙄
Hint: Don't build houses close to and downwind from a coal seam that has been burning since the 1800's.

Why there’s no fire track
fishy stuff here.....why did the trees survive but houses didnt?
@BD007Marky Mountain Dew.
So these fires are supposed to be started naturally?
I did not see any sign of wind blowing, especially at 100mph! I'd like to see anyone fly a drone in that kind of wind.
I Guess People Don't Cut Down Dry Brush There and Don't Have Mandatory Laws for IT!!!!!

Creepy.
SO DRAMATIC !........it's tragic not drama , stop using words you don't understand how to use.
Where were the helicopters helping the ground crews fighting it.
Grounded by the windstorm.
Interesting that a drone can be flying but they said that helicopters and planes were grounded due to the winds and smoke. HMMM
Right... that fire could of been put out the same way they do the wildfires in California.
There was a fire
