I left a comment about an hour ago, on the video he did 3 days ago, asking why he hadn't done his Angelina Monday reaction yet. Now that I see comments here from 2 hours ago, I have to think TH-cam didn't notify me that it was posted. *#@^ TH-cam.
One of the things I love about these home studio performances is watching her hone her craft. Over time you can watch her try new equipment, new techniques, new phrasing, new textures, new instruments. And then you watch her master all of those things, putting all that stuff into her bag of tricks that she now draws from to deliver that characteristically Angelina sound. And, many times, you get to see the perfect imperfections that make her a truly great live artist.
Hi Boudy. All I can say is: She never mimicked nobody. She listened to all the greatests since She was a toddler. She's a sponge. She absorbed every single drop from all of'em and picked only the ones that suited Her to create Her unique,outwordly stile of singing. She can do it all. She is "The Music"!!!👍👏👋❤️

You can't listen to her rendition of Gloomy Sunday and say that she wasn't imitating Billie Holiday's mannerisms. It was all a part of her learning experience and her exploration of jazz through the masters. We stand on the shoulders of those that have come before us.

Angelina puts so much emotion into this song. I always think there is no coming in eatly or late for a jazz singer. They play in front and behind the beat like a dolphin in the wake of a ship.
The way Angelina Jordan sings, "...flaking..." brings me chills and tears and....
Freddie's spirit is doing rather well inside Angelina I think. His host is so humble and unassuming as to let us catch him peeking through at times.
Angelina has again blessed us with a richness that fill our senses with memories both bitter and sweet.

I noticed it especially with her studio and IT"S MAGIC album rendition of I''M A FOOL TO WANT YOU. She captured Billie Holiday while remaining Angelina. Same with her performance of Summertime and Ella.
The art behind her was created by her grandma Mery Zamani. She probably did the mask as well, with or without
Angelina's help. Softness and power in this song are perfect illustrations of her unbelievable versatility.
All Norwegian school children makes those masks (I did, in the early 1970s). The kids paint them to their liking after making a papier mache cast of their faces.

Hi Boudy! This is quite a different cover for Angelina. It's not often she sings straight rock, but she does a fantastic job. That crescendo on the last note gives me chills every time! Wouldn't you love to see Angelina take a year and tour as Queen's lead singer at some point? I know it probably wouldn't happen, but I can dream, can't it? :)

@@ArabManReacts You probably know that Grandma Mery is the artist behind the painting .....one of Angelina's other many talents is that she is an artist as well, not talking about her musical artistry either...she has many talents that are not mentioned much, she can paint as well......probably painted that mask herself...representing the LGBQT community and Freddie's struggle with that terrible disease. She absolutely understands, pretty sure her way of getting the point across...again, she is a brilliant artist.

He’s got a really informative show where he analyzes vocals and guitar playing of all different artists in modern music from Elvis to Home Free. His channel is growing by the thousands every week and has 348k subscribers as of now. He does all kinds of stuff, not just pitch correction videos, he only does those when someone requests that he do a specific artist.

Your observation is so true -- Angelina can honor the vocal technique of the singer she's covering while making the song her own. She knows how to thread her own nuances through the original song, so that it's undeiably an AJ cover. Really amazing and subtle, how she does it -- except when she's completing transforming a cover, and that's a whole other thing. (Bohemian Rhapsody the obvious example.) You nailed it Boudy! If you carefully listen, you'll hear Angelina include certain bits of pronunciations, phrasing and inflections that remind us of the original artist. For example, when she sings Adele songs she pronounces "can't" the same way Adele pronounces it "cain't" (which also sounds like a US southerner ;-) Her Elvis renditions include bits of his depth and tones. And so on ... In this way she projects reminiscents of the original singers within her own incredible voice.

it wasn't just another song to sing... Angelina acknowledges Freddy with her tribute and notice how at the end of the song it is 'cut-off' to black... so abrupt and too early.. Kinda like the passing of Freddy Mercury. Angelina is a respectful genius.
