@@repingers9777 nope it’s my daily driver. I had to replace the clutch and shocks but no major breakdowns since I bought the car in 2008 brand new. Engine runs strong still but I need to start rebuilding it
bro once again thank you for all the civic si k20 k24 videos, daily my Si, every time I start the car it takes 2-3 seconds to start, hopefully this is the only issue that u have to change..
Our car also have a pretty weak fuel pump if you haven't replaced it turn the car to on for 2 seconds then turn the key all the way to start up instantly.
@hundredlives3910 lovely, thanks mate I will do that too. Btw got new starter, battery, alternator, timing solenoid,. definitely would consider doing that. thanks mate
I had the exact same issue on my K-swapped hatch, but it was the knock sensor pin that was completely bent in. Ended up ordering a new one and it didn't fix it. Pulled it off and saw the pin, so the original knock sensor was never an issue. Gotta love project cars.
@boosted_john id check the lines and possibly under the lid i wanna say theres rubber there .if screwed on too tightly it doesn't seal.but yea man has worked cherry being that most of the time its just me bleeding brakes and clutch components.
@@boosted_john try just sucking something normally in lets say a bottle of water to make sure the unit is working first. If you see it sucking then your bleeder valves wasn't open probably far enough. That has happened to me when i first started using it i only had the bleeder cracked not actually all the way open
When you removed the rear left brake pads and wondered if your calipers are getting stuck because the pads are worn unevenly: they probably are. I had the exact same situation on my Accord, the outer pad was worn almost completely down but the inner pad had very little wear. Unfortunately I didn't notice this in time and drove around long enough like this to fuck up my rotors as well, so I had to replace everything.
PS that Harbor freight break 2 bleeder. 2, you bad mine works great. Had it for years been using it works great on its own? I don't know what you're buying but mine was good. Course, my heart was free. Tools have all been good over the last 20 years. You get what you paid for.
Good stuff John, crazy small problems like this are always a good lesson. Good on you for seeing it through! Also, are those PIC coilovers on there? I havent seen those in a long time!
@@boosted_john that's awesome. I hung out with the owners a few times way back in the day. They frequented a shop that my friends owned. They actually developed a full bushing kit together. I still have one on my car. Hope to run into you at a track day this season!
It's always the little things that bite you in the butt i laughed pretty hard when it was just a bent pin and a minute earlier you had the entire valve cover off trying to find TDC 😂 That's my life in a nutshell
Been wanting to upgrade the brakes on my gen2 tsx but can’t find brake calipers that are dual piston for it. Only see spoon but it’s a kit and I only need is the calipers
I would not advise using auto part store calipers. They are almost always remanufactured and didn’t last a year before seizing on my ep3. Grab some brand new calipers on rock auto or similar as soon as possible brotha or the same thing is about to happen
I just loved how you turned that simple thing into a major issue. Man, how did you do that? I mean, that was real Google. Put it down top days, change the tension and put it back together and start the car. What you made that into an issue. How did you do that wow?
How can you act like you’ve never made a mistake in your life? Especially your first time doing something or getting too comfortable and making a simple mistake. It still got fixed and he may have helped another person in the future.
All good man feel free to fast forward. I’ve actually been meaning to start implementing chapters into my videos to help people find the parts they want to watch.

The timing chain tensioner for a K series is its LIFELINE. Literally
My 08 si is about to hit 300k miles. Should I replace the chain and tensioner ?

I went down the 8th gen Si rabbit hole almost 3 years ago. I love/hate wrenching on this thing.

lol. The pain is real.
i have that same brake vacum bleeder worked fine by myself and my MK4 supra
Same use it a ton, no probs
Am I doing something wrong? Seems like it’s pulling almost no vacuum.

YOOOO I meant to comment on another video but you’re looking massive bro! Keep up the god like work!!!
Thank you! I went from 170 to 190 in the last year.
ive learned to play it safe and open the valve cover and zip-tie the two chain guides. better than opening the timing chain cover
Love the Civic man, we are humans we make mistakes but you got this 🙏🏻 God bless u

Yeah. Always go over what you touched
Fail after fail after fail but you never gave up!!! That's the important part.
If your timing is off, you will have some rough running along with fault codes, in your case, the ecu uses cam shaft as reference.
@boosted_john you should grease your slide pins if you haven’t done so already to correct the uneven pad wear 👍🏽
Great tips for my K24, thanks! 👍

@@EightyLoon .. it's normal. The inner pads usually wears out faster cause the calipers are pressing on them directly
What size shirt are you wearing? I want one just want to be sure on the size.
I’m 6’ 3” and I’m wearing XL. These shirts are very true to size.
Just asked the dude I'm buying from when this was done last😆

After u install the new tensioner, ur supposed to rotate the engine forward until u hear a click and the new tensioner seats properly
The engine will rotate when you start it. What's the difference?
