That was an incredible day. I clearly remember thinking when they went 2-0 up that this could end up 7! How wrong was I?... 😁 I almost broke my neck when Gough equalised. I literally ended up upside down and two rows down from my seat in the Govan Stand. Epic celebrations. You hear the microphones overloading when the equaliser goes in. One of the best feelings ever. Incredible! The atmosphere was the best I've ever experienced at a domestic game. #WATP 🔴⚪🔵
watching this for not the first time but have just noticed not one Celtic player came to help McAvennie - any sort of situation like this most teams will get involved behind their player but no one showed up! was he no that liked by his own team they never backed him up?? probs pumped half the wives :-)
Enjoy some of the footage you post mate.... not all of it for obvious reasons mind you LOL Ridiculous that the police got involved in this, you see at least half a dozen incidents like that one in football every weekend across europe, I always laugh at McAvennie buying the three Rangers players fish suppers the friday they were in court, taken by everyone in the humour it was intended. No doubt these days some idiot would find offence at that and run to the police
The commentator Jock Brown was so pro-Celtic. Made a big issue of Graham Roberts going down, but ignored play-acting by McAvennie and McKnight who both went to the deck clutching their faces.... Just read Archie McPherson's autobiography and he said Brown felt repulsed every time he went to Ibrox to cover a game. Just about says it all.....
The only thing that the police needed to look at there was Roberts conducting a sectarian song in the final minute of the game. And i speak as someone who was a Rangers supporter then.
Ffs wise up ,part of our culture and heritage ,fucking denying ur culture and heritage should be a crime ,I don't deny mine ,proud Northern Ireland know, what goes with being a RANGER,no one likes us we dont care🇬🇧
Glad the pass back rule came into play. The amount time Butcher launched the ball backwards towards his goal was criminal. Never rated him either. Slow as a week in jail. He only had height and that’s all. Would be destroyed in the modern game

Brilliant day, I was also in the Govan Front old Red Section and broke my seat when Gough equilised.
Jock Brown's commentary in this is absolutely howling. Incredible noise when Gough scored. Aftermath of this was a disgrace,
Saturday 17th October 1987 and not the 2nd this match took place. :)
the score was 2-2, it's not the date I put up :)

Cant believe the number of times Grant was clean through. Quite bizarre. Also if anyone shouldve been red carded it was Butcher. Mental game
Ma 1st old firm game
loved that strip
After wankavennie was sent off most incidents involved grant what a surprise
24:00
Why was Butcher sent off ? He didn't go near the face of the Celtic keeper and yet that is what the Celtic keeper is holding, is this Referee blind ?

@@buffscrit Yeah, any other pearls of wisdom? JB was a trumpet, Vim Jansen certainly thought so.
Joke Broon was a Rangers supporter.
