Unless you've actually attended one of his concerts live you can't describe it to those who haven't. Every night it's a completely different show. Those who saw him live know what I mean. It's astounding..What other performer puts on a completely different show back to back.
No one had seen anything like this on a live cable/MTV music performance at that time and it was everywhere afterwards. Prince could tell and receive what he wanted when he said he agreed to perform. As others have said, the song is Getting Off and the album version is so very enjoyable. Thanks an epic ton for reacting to this. For being a landmark MTV/TV live performance it gets massively overlooked.

Purple Rain is actually a very good movie and worth watching.
