      Both of them share the same amazing weakness.
      1. There is no reverse entry for updated records! For that the GL will never reflect the true actions.
      2. There is no true integration between Debit/ Credit memo and the original bill/ invoice!
      This behaviour creates alot of wrong values for the inventory specially when they use AVG method.

    Xero integrates with ADP as well as Gusto, not to mention hundreds of other apps. So, Gusto is not the only payroll choice. Also, Xero learning curve is intuitive. It’s pretty easy to learn. Xero was born in the cloud; QuickBooks was born on the desktop and has added the cloud. A note about customer service: I am a Xero certified advisor and have great customer service, phone calls, emails, chats, screen shares, etc. I recommend working with a Xero advisor. What is the comparison when working with a QB advisor?

    If you are banking with HSBC Quickbooks doesn't work! I've been using it for 1 year and had a lot of connection issues and reconciliation is a mess, sometimes it doesn't update balance as you reconcile. I've basically had support tickets open since I joined and still no fix for the issue. I'm not sure if they have this problems with other banks. I've now switched to Xero. Good luck

    This comparison could be a lot more useful. For comparing the sales pages from each vendor it is accurate, but there are things QBO doesn't mention. For example, on the QBO $25 plan (Yes it went up) your Chart of Accounts is limited to 250 accounts / sub-accounts. While Xero has no limit on the number of accounts even on their cheapest level.

    which one is more suitable for an accounting firm targeting small business clients. Further in terms of access control for posting in books of account which one provides access control for posting transaction

    • @MerchantMaverick
      @MerchantMaverick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Azther, we apologize for the late reply. Both QuickBooks and Xero have user permissions that can control the access of who posts what. However, QuickBooks has more detailed permissions and a full user audit so you can see exactly which users added information and when. Both would work for managing small business clients. Some accountants swear by Xero, while others swear by QuickBooks, so it really comes down to which software your firm is more comfortable with operating and the anticipated features/needs of your clients. Here's a post of ours where accountants talk about which software they prefer: www.merchantmaverick.com/best-accounting-software-accountants/

    What do you think is the best software for personal trainer company

    • @MerchantMaverick
      @MerchantMaverick  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Daniela!
      QuickBooks or Xero would work, but there are a couple of things to consider. If you're new to accounting software, QBO is a bit more user-friendly. On the other hand, if there will be multiple users of the software, Xero may be the more cost-efficient option (but does have a learning curve). In terms of features and integrations, they're both pretty evenly matched. The good news is you can take advantage of free trials and check out the various integrations for both to see which you prefer. Good luck to you!

  • @mannamedbanjo
    @mannamedbanjo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wish that Quickbooks 2011 was still supported. Yes, antiquated, but all I need is just basic. Where can I just get basic as they come? And still be able to reconcile accounts? Don't need payroll.

    • @MerchantMaverick
      @MerchantMaverick  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Scott! Thanks for watching and trusting us with your question. As far as QuickBooks supporting older versions, a license and updates are supported for three years, so that does pose a challenge.
      Another locally installed option you could look into is AccountEdge. It offers really traditional accounting and upgrades are always optional so older versions are still supported. www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/accountedge-review/

    I would discourage anyone considering Quickbooks online. As a small business started quickbooks online 28 months ago at 19.99per month. Few months later increased to 22.79per month, then 24 and then 27, etc...We are currently at $42.30 per month. Thats $507 per year and projecting close to 1k per year within 2 years. For small business you can pay $184.99 for desktop and keep it a few years or pay a few thousand dollars for the subscription over a similar amount of time. Quickbooks is using the Bait and Hook practice on their subscriptions which should be illegal.

      how is your experience with QBO? i bet the same sh.t if not worse. i moved few months ago, also tired of XEro's limitations, just to find out QBO is another crap system. Also super slow. I have to log out and log in to make sure the system is refreshed and i can assign the project to invoices/bills that i've just created. I am still not clear which of them is worse, but i am really thinking to go back to Xero.

      @@zaypeaceIslamstories Both Xero and QuickBooks Online support online bank feeds, but you would need to contact Xero or QBO directly to see if your particular bank is supported. In terms of taxes, we haven't heard of either offering the ability to pay taxes straight from the software, but their support teams may have an answer that we don't. Hope this helps!
