Green became a thing when the world became obsessed with slime and creepy things. Green is associated with the ill or deceased. Orange, Black, purple, and navy blue are the more traditional colors associated with Halloween. The reason dates back to Pagans and their all Hallows Eve feast where they celebrated the last Harvest of the season (orange). Their feast was often held at night (black, blue, and purple). If you keep that image in your mind then you essentially get the Halloween color palette. That said, I LOVE THIS CARD ERRMYGAWD. I literally just purchased this set after watching this.

Hi Kelly. I LOVE everything you do. I LOVE THIS CARD!!! I'm watching this on 6/19/19 &&& you've got me cracking up!!! I'm not sure if I come here for the artistry or the stories...probably Both!!! FYI (I looked this up): orange & black have been long associated with HWeen. Orange rooted in harvest "colors" & veggie color. Black for its spooky elements. Purple is associated with witchcraft & mysticism. Green symbolizes monsters/zombies. White for ghosts. 💜🖤💚 On an side note; purple, green, & gold are Mardi Gras colors. They were chosen by Rex (the king of carnival) in 1872 by that year's Rex. He assigned meanings to the colors. Purple for justice, green for faith, &&& gold for power. Sending 💜💚💛 from NOLA Xoxo 😘

Great card, Kelly! Love the running commentary, too. I really wonder about the purple & green for Halloween, since purple's complement is actually yellow. Don't see a whole lot of that for Halloween, either! Hmmmm.... Anyway, love how you colored the hats. And, in case you didn't know, brown is actually just a dull orange, so I can see why it would work well for shading oranges. Thanks for sharing your gifts, and for the laughs! :)

Honey, you can color things whatever color you please and I haven't seen you color anything that wasn't just great. It's called, artistic license. It's yours you color it however you please, but I love your running commentaries and your work. It's amazing how adding shadows here and there makes a flat surface actually look rounded, or lifted up to show depth. When I was little, we had black and orange for Halloween colors. I like the added green color, as green is a "gooey" looking color, in keeping with the slimy things.

I forget that zodiac months are not normal months, because how easy would that be....but no they gotta go and make it crazy like from the 30th of July to the 25th of August.....thats totally made up dates but you get my point. We do however share the same birthstone, and I love me some green!!!

(She was using perfect pearls and sprayed the pile on her work surface with water and they went everywhere) I DIED laughing and couldn't stop for like 10 minutes.
