The instrument is a “beginner” the musician is amazing!!
It looks like an excellent clarinet. Even though it is for student level, it has a beautiful sound, a velvety bass, clean middle notes and wonderful sound, very nice highs for students.
Thank you! With a good mouthpiece this is all most non-professional clarinetists will ever need during their lifetime.

I really need a clarinet
Nice clarinet, sounds great, and the tuning is superg. Still I think Privilege definitely has a significantly sweeter sound. I really enjoy my pair of Privilege, they will not be replaced. Had to open up the open G for tuning (a small grinding inside the tone hole), the rest is very close to spot-on.
Yes I also keep my Privilege for now :) It still works the best for me. For me had to correct E and F# at the showroom in Paris last week-Sébastien is the best repairer ever!! & the rest is still perfect!

I'm 46 and a real clarinet beginner. I've been playing for 6 months. After starting out on a cheap Thomann plastic clarinet, I have now bought a Selmer Prologue. To be honest it was this video from you being a little involved in my decision. I love this thing, it sounds great, it plays beautifully, I am very happy with it.
It came up to my attention that there are two „versions“ of this instrument. It is sold as „Selmer“ Prologue as although as „SeleS“ Prologue.
I researched and read and found that Seles is the budget brand of Selmer. But then there should be a significant price difference. Otherwise, it makes no sense with the budget brand. So in this case, is Seles exactly the same as Selmer? Did they simply decide to print Selmer instead of Seles on the clarinet from the third edition on? So is there any difference at all?
So If you or anyone has an answer, please let me know.

I have that clarinet and i really like it. but i always get a bit low with that barrel so i need to buy a new one and thats kind of bad i think but otherwise its one of the best i have played ofr the price!

I've been using the selmer sales prologue clarinet for 2 years. I think it's better than the buffet E13 clarinet.

I tried the Selmer Prologue, at Twigg Montreal last year, along with a dozen other clarinets. It finished in my top 3 that I liked the most, with the R13 and the Buffet Legende.... for a fraction of the price... It's not a beginner clarinet.... imo... more like an intermediate+
I play and own: a Yamaha 550 Allegro, and Buffet Crampon Festival Greenline, and a plastic Buffet B12, and a 1969 Buffet R13 A clarinet.
My clarinet is Buffet Crampon E11 and I love this model
The Selmer Presence is a really good clarinet as well. ☝🏽🎅🏻
Do you think there are any step up selmer clarinets that are good? Or are other brands better for the step up category.
I was at Selmer's showroom in Paris couple of days ago and I tried all of their clarinets which are all very good. They have different types so that anyone could choose for their own taste.

Hey, how’s the clarinet been? Still playing regularly? I had gotten so inspired to play after watching your videos so I bought one and practiced for a few days, but I haven’t touched it in months.😅
My student got it last year and he’s so happy with it :) it sounds really great & he didn’t have any problem so far

Cevaplarsanız çok teşekkür ederim. Çalışmalarınızda ve eğitimlerinizde kolaylıklar ve bol başarılar :).
Sanırım gelebilirsiniz ama tahmin olarak bir şey söylemek zor. Kişinin yatkınlığı ve kapasitesine göre zaman kavramı değişkenlik gösterebiliyor :) teşekkür ediyor size de iyi çalışmalar ve başarılar diliyorum

I hear a fuzzy sound. The high sounds to bright. As a former professional clarinetist, I prefer the older LeBlanc line. So sad it is gone.
