I loved the original adventure for first edition, but Sadly I can't see campaigning in The Domains of Dread. You're party will never leave for anywhere better, and if Strahd/Darklord are smart, they would never allow a party to become anywhere near powerful enough to challenge him. Don't get me wrong, I will DM lots of one shots I hope, but as a long term setting it just isn't great. You're going to lose no matter what, you can't escape no matter what lol. I look forward to one night sessions, and would like to see another Ravenloft adventure book or 4 =) Not trying to take a cheap shot, but how did Lord Soth, Vecna, and Azalin all manage to escape? If it's possible for them it should be possible, even a 1% chance the players can get out too

This book sounds like a blast to spawn my own Domain of Dread. Even if it is used for a one shot.
I played with it for a half an hour and yeah. Its a blasty blast.
