I didn’t realise how much of a penalty that was having only just watched it back. O’Hare should have rolled around more and stayed down, nice that he was trying to get up and help out but it probably helped the ref’s decision to not give the pen. Both sides played really well tonight though, fair result in the end. PUSB 💙
13 unbeaten and yet we havent left 4th since October. Our attack needs to rely less on Armstrong, we keep failing to take advantage of Leeds dropping points.
I thought it was a bit sad how deep Coventry sat against us given they were at home. Point probably fair in the end, though Coventry might nick when they stepped in up in added time. Ref was awful for both sides. O'Hare should have had a pen, but we should've had one when Bednarek was rugby tackled on a corner, not in the highlights but was right in front of us in the away end. Clear as day.
tough game, frustrated with the way we played and armstrong not having his best night in terms of finishing. i hope manning gets dropped and we upgrade on him in the transfer window. credit to coventry though, they are a great side… wouldn’t mind a few of their players 👀😂
Like others have 100% a penalty, if he dives then the ref gives it. Feel bad moaning after recent events, but that really is poor. Great result against a top side who have alot of EPL players. Saka, Van Ewijk and O'Hare are becoming unplayable down that right side.
@@iancruickshank6385 you were thinking the same about title challenging Southampton? That's a strange comment can't really get my head around that one! I genuinely meant I hope you stay up as you're only 2 wins above the bottom 3 and got played off the park last night with only 21% possession at home. I'd imagine you'll be right in the mix for bottom 3 by the end of the season so best of luck to you.
Despite the defeat against Ipswich(It's normal, they're 2nd) Coventry is playing so good, 5 of 6 matches without losing, it will be impossible(25points are too much to overcome) to get promoted the normal way, but I believe in the team, they will finish at least 4 and make it to Premier League.🔵🔵
@@redeyemc cause after the first match they had a bad beginning, but this is so long and there is time to solve the situation, last season they were in the middle of nowhere and from February to the end only lost 1 of 17 matches
Yep, dominate possession and concede first or score and give up equalisers too often. Armstrong has had a good season but we lack that real cutting edge. We need to score 3-4 goals more often when we dominate. Surprised to see Alcaraz out of the frame, he and Edozie for periods last season gave us the most directness in the EPL.
The trouble is, possession and territorial dominance work in the NFL and in rugby union, but soccer relies solely on scoring goals (there are no points, moral or otherwise, for anything else that happens on the field). That's why goals scorers are so highly prized (and highly paid.) And the Saints don't have any.@@jsequine927
Think it's cos Smallbone took Callum O'Hare's legs away from him and missed the ball. Lucky for Saints but they probably played well enough on the night to just about earn a draw away from home anyway
This is why players start diving. That is a stonewall pen. Ref is a joke

Funny was thinking the same about you lot !
Good atmosphere brought some fans but never underestimated Mark Robbins and the Sky Blue Army PUSB
NO PENALTY?!?!?😂😂😂
Dint go down did the ref a favour....
No penalty 😎
Not a pen for me
O'Hare made a mess of the whole situation. He made the decision easy for the referee
@@ebeninekingsley I agree, but it’s just gotta be given, contact and he’s dragged o hare about 2 metres there hahahaah

You realise Coventry are closer points wise to being in the bottom 3 than they are the top 6..

Def a penalty ... slow down playback speed and you'll see it !
He plays the ball with his leading foot, which is why it goes through behind O'Hares legs and he catches him with his trailing foot...no pen
I heard pompey fans singing they r coming for you Southampton. Which looks like a nice south coast darby coming nexts season.
Darby!!!! Nexts!!!!

Why are Coventry fans moaning in this comments section about a penalty?
That wasn't as clear as y'all are making it seem. It's a 50-50 at best.
