    thanks for not only the theory tips, but also including psychology tips too! sometimes its our mindset, not our musical knowledge, that becomes our biggest roadblock :)

    • @ashFB2B
      @ashFB2B  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      id argue that sometimes mindset is even more important cuz thats the stuff that really improves you as a producer

    Some good tips here. I really like writing melodies over chords/bass and drums. Write one idea, listen and tweak. Then move that clip and write a second melody; usually the second one is better, but the first one creates inspiration and opens my mind.
    I’m also always thinking/writing in the shower... I think the running water distracts and relaxes your mind of stress and the world around you. I think working near my fishtank helps too because of the running water. I really think the noise is what helps to trigger the creativity.
    Sometimes listening to a song and writing over it helps me too. I pull inspiration, emotion, and energy from the song and use it to write my own melody (not copying the original song, of course).

    bro thank you so much for this video, i was struggling a lot with making melodies and i literally just sat at a piano for like an hour trying to force myself to come up with something and nothing did. The mindset/mental part after the production tips for making the melodies was insanely helpful for someone like me struggling.

    I'll spend hours someday trying to write melodies but nothing works.
    Then like one day when I'm supposed to be studying or doing something important i'll hop on ableton and write straight up gold in like 5 minutes then spend precious study time fleshing out the ideas.

    Man, This is great!
    If I have a song that inspired me of chords and melody, and I also have a genre, style that I want to comeup with.
    In this case, should I hear songs with similar chord vibes, or songs with the similar production style?
