I've never seen the ingot spin in the bonus ever. If it can happen, you're right, it's extremely rare. Maybe it's possible. I did trigger a double-feature with one coin. That's only happened once for me.
I hit the Grand once at $7K playing $2 and the Major twice at $3K playing $1 and $1.50 on the 5 Dragons Rapid. I’ve also won the Minor multiple times playing $.50.

FYI, there is no spin bonus during the regular bonus on Rapid. (Once in a very great while, one might spin, but it's sooo rare.)
