Take a moment from enjoying Christian Kane's performance to appreciate Stephanie Romanov at 0:29 or so. We see Lilah trembling in terror, because she thinks she's receiving a death sentence or worse. She's actually _shaking_ at that moment...and no Wes in shining armor is coming for her at this point. SR really portrays Lilah's horror and terror and panic, in a quiet way.
It's true, she's so vulnerable in this scene. And even after she gets the promotion and Lindsey leaves, she's clearly in shock, and out of her depth, and wondering if getting the promotion might have been even worse than not getting it.
What she thought would end in her death, Lindsay's (short lived) epiphany and quitting W&H saved her. Even after this, Lilah has more respect for him than she'd ever have Gavin in later years
Daegon I get that but Lindsay doesn’t want or care about redemption. He lives by his own code, defies W&H whenever he feels he needs to. I think Lindsay is comfortable with his life choices
@@Keihryon It _was_ genuine...at that point. There's no doubt in my mind that the garbage in Season Five wasn't even a dark shadow in Whedon's mind when this was filmed. They should have stuck with it.

I always used to hope that Lilah and Lindsey would get together, I thought their whole rivalry was pretty fun and you could tell they cared about one another really.

He didn't have to do that, he could have just walked out and left her to be worm food. But he did the blackmail for her, letting her have a soft landing. The ironic thing is that of all the people on the planet, the closest thing Lilah has to friends are Lindsey and the Fang Gang. Which is tragic.

@@shermanlee4037 most of her failures were joint ventures with Lindsey like the fundraising scam, hiring Faith, and losing control of Darla, but for whatever reason they liked him more.
