If you are ever in Texas, Johnson's Rock shop outside Livingston, TX has the largest collection of petrafied wood with all sizes including full logs. They have 10 buildings full of all kinds of rocks and Minerals and several outdoor tables too. The owner is 94 years young and a treasure to visit with. It is a must visit stop if ever in South East Texas. Loved your videos.
Hello, thanks for these videos. I have an 18lb vibratory tumbler and I have been using walnut for media and I’m wondering if that’s preventing me from getting a good shine. I ended up needing a lot of it which seems to prevent the rocks from tumbling well. I have heard ceramic isn’t the best for polishing stages but you seem to be getting good results…I assume that’s ceramic, right?
you ask what you should do with all the rocks? you should create a shallow stream somewhere on the property with a foutain pump and line it with the rocks maybe leading to a little pool of water.. challenging i know .but it would be pretty cool ..
That's a really good idea!! I actually have an aquarium and I like that kind of thing. I have thought of doing a waterfall/pond in my back yard, but it just hasn't been a high priority project while my son is still young and there are a million other projects going on! Great idea though! Thank you!
Holbrook, in Arizona, you can fill up a bucket of rainbow petrified wood for like 40 or 50$, I forgot who's doing it but do some research online and I'm sure you'll find the guy.
Hola ! Muchas gracias !
Have you ever considered going to the Crater of Diamonds in Murfreesboro Arkansas? They have all kinds of rocks there that would be great to use in a video.
I would love to! I've been to Coleman's Quartz mine in Arkansas, but it's a fair trip from Ohio. I'd say at some point I will head back that way! Thanks for the comment!
I believe the one that you go with your grandfather is yellow quartz also known as golden healer look it up it’s beautiful stone I have a lot of it, I’m in Massachusetts.
These are beautiful! I live in Arizona and am a rock hunter. I have some amazing pieces that probably have no value. However in your hands I think they may be valuable. Enjoy your rock hunting trip.
Thank you so much!! I've shut down for the winter. (I hate going outside in Ohio to rinse off rocks in Winter.) However, I have a batch of pet rock from AZ from my trip last summer that will probably be my first batch of the Spring. I'm thinking I will do one video and just cover all the steps in one video. Thanks again for the comment! Ed
I actually did have to re-cement part of my sidewalk and I embedded a piece of tiger eye in it. I didn't think anything of it, but I was amazed by how many people noticed it!
Good video thanks... being from a place where we find a lot of p wood (Oregon) those pieces don’t look much like petrified wood - and I use a vibe tumbler exclusively and get nice shiny rocks, though they tend to keep more of their original shape with less rounding
This batch I don't think there is any pet wood. I have a batch in the rotary right now (I like the rounded look.) that I will probably make a vibe video of in the spring. I hate going outside to rinse rocks in the Ohio winter!
You could sell them on Etsy or eBay by weight mixed batches or what ever the person wants but they’re beautiful and I would buy a bunch. You can make jewelry with some
Omggg😊😊😊😯👏👏👏😍😍🤩🤩🤩 they're so beautiful ❤️❤️, Thanks for showing them to us ...and an inspiration I might do some my self someday ,bu the way where did you get your tumbler??
Those rocks are really amazing! They are mesmerizing! I dont ever get sick of seeing different rocks. I just subbed so I am going to start at the beginning and binge watch your rock videos! I know what you can do with some of your rocks tho! Have a give away!!!?? Set an amount of subscribers you want to gain and when you hit your 200th or 1,000th subscribers give your pretty rocks to one of your luck subscribers!!!
If you went through all the steps and the rocks weren't shiny there are a couple of possiblities: 1. Your grit wasn't good. I think a lot of the off brand tumblers come with grit and it's usually not very good. I see a lot of people on youtube and facebook that have that issue. I buy mine from TheRockShed or Kingsley North and I've never had an issue. 2. What rocks did you have in there? Not all rocks will get shiny in a tumbler. Typically, the softer the rock (Mohs scale) the harder to get a shine on it. And if you mix up soft and hard rocks that can cause issues too. The last video I released I pointed out a rock (and there were about 5) that didn't get shiny. They were probably too soft. Hope this helps! Ed
Outstanding!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Little guy! Your Crystals Look Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
I’ll usually take small handfuls to friends and families homes and casually sprinkle throughout the yard/flower beds. It’s a win for everyone
That is a tremendous idea!!!

One thing I would do after the final polish is do a run in ivory snow detergent. It seems to give the rocks a little more luster.
Just found these videos and I love them beautiful!!

Just look at them, pick them up and feel them! No need to justify.
Yup!!! :) (I tend to just give a lot away as well!)

I'm starting to put my rocks in my parents driveway.

You making them one time for 3 days? Leave the tumbler running 3 days?

How did they end up shiny like that because mine aren't shiny...
