Their speed is genuinely comical. And my god they're CUTE!
Probably one of if not my favourite bird, I love the way their little legs skiddadle when they run
Love sandpipers. If only I had half their energy, lol.
I love seeing little vignettes of nature. Really helps me feel better if I'm feeling down.
That was just absolutely lovely. Could have watched even longer.
That was adorable
Am I just the only person that thinks it’s hilarious to see them running from the waves?
2:30 Sargent Seagull reporting for inspection!
Look at their little legs as they run! So Cute!
This was very peaceful to watch
I agree
I once chased a Sandpiper on the beach and it was hilarious because it kept "running" away for next 2-3 minutes and then finally flew!
Wow so funny
Today I went down to the beach with my mom, which was nice since winters rolling in and due to covid scare not a lot of people were on the beach, just me and locals far in between. 2020 election rolled in and I was feeling really depressed from all that’s been going on this year for me and others, and I needed a comforting mechanism. I was reminded by how much I loved sandpipers when they actually didn’t care how close I was when they went to feed in the sand - only a few feet from me. I even got to hear them chirp for once because the wind drowns out quieter sounds.
Anyway just wanted to put this down so people can judge me for being a softie.
Nice comment Evan. Good on you. I love Sandpipers too. They are lovely little creatures. Nothing wrong with finding comfort and peace in nature.
Wait. 1:21-1:40 : There's a lot of them who only have one leg...
There cute anyway
they have 2, theyre just tucking one into their body
@Charles Leclerc osprey
They're keeping warm. "Birds' legs have an adaptation called "rete mirabile" that minimizes heat loss. The arteries that transport warm blood into the legs lie in contact with the veins that return colder blood to the bird's heart. ... And by standing on one leg, a bird reduces by half the amount of heat lost through unfeathered limbs."
f birds are standing on one place for a long time, the biomechancis are such that standing on one leg is simpler to do.
@@pinkfreud62 thanks, i was wondering exactly why
My Bedtime story watching these adorable little birds,Left me in Stitches watching them Run 😂😂😂😂Amazing how they have that power with their spindly legs ,Full speed ahead ,Wave 🌊 Runnnnnnn😂😂

Came from disney pixar piper

Thank you for this video.
Lovely birds
Who came here because of that cute Pixar short film?
Nope. No idea what that is. Came here because of Julia Lepetit from Drawfee. They were talking about how this bird moves so fast it looked like the world forgot some key animation frames in their walk cycles. They werent wrong.
Well l am
Meeee!! ^-^
Amazing clip of sandpipers!
I really liked how the videos were uploaded as playlists last week. That way I could watch all of the segments together and I didn't get a bunch of notifications.
most beautiful sight ever
I could watch them all day at Myrtle Beach SC

Can we talk about why some of them only have one leg?
they have two legs. They just tuck one of them up against heir belly.
To keep it warm they hide the other leg
Drones couldn't be programmed to fly in such unison. Craysee

These are Sanderlings, not Sandpipers.

Some birds just had one leg
They tuck one leg up to conserve heat.
