Acts 15:17 that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the gentiles who bear My Name And v19 for the gentiles who are turning to God. Glory, not for anything i have done ir will do, but by Holy Spirit drawing, I freely respond, faith in Jesus Christ....
I think the apostles were already saved before the day of Pentecost. They were OT saints that were transferred into the Body of Christ on Pentecost. The crowd on Pentecost was not saved, but at the preaching of Peter, upon faith in Christ, were also Baptised in the Holy Spirit.
God's Word does not state that. One cannot be saved without the work of the Cross (Christ died for mankind's sin) and Christ's resurrection to life (Eternal life is found in no other). The OT saints were kept in Abraham's bosom where Christ went after the cross and before His resurrection. Christ preached the Gospel to them, in order to be saved. The Gospel is the good news of Christ's salvation that the prophets longed to understand; the mystery that is now revealed; the ministry of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit that started at Pentacost; the church. Without Christ ascending to heaven the Holy Spirit would not have come down. Christ teaches the disciples that they will do greater things than He once the Holy Spirit comes. That the Holy Spirit will make known the deep things of God to anyone who is born again (Read John 3). The natural man cannot understand the things of God. (this included the disciples) One must become born again to understand the things of God. One can read the Gospels and see the spiritual change that takes place of the disciples after the disciples are born again by the Holy Spirit. Peter denied Christ 3x but after the Holy Spirit he fully KNOWS Christ because Christ's Holy Spirit indwells inside him. Then uneducated fisherman Peter gives one of the greatest sermons and thousands are saved. That's the POWER of the Holy Spirit: the Baptism. Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit one cannot enter the Kingdom of God: one must be one born again: born of the Spirit. For flesh and blood cannot enter the Kingdom of God. The disciples were still flesh and blood, while they walked with Christ.
@@lauraschroeder8177 There has only ever been one way to be justified, and that is through faith, just like Abraham. The only difference is that they looked ahead to the cross, while on this side of Calvary, we look back to the Finished work of Christ. They were totally saved on credit as they waited in Abraham's bosom for the price of their redemption to be paid in full. The LORD was not fooling when He said, "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." (Isaiah 45:22) Salvation was fully available to all who would look to him. Now of course, this side of Calvary it is much more clear, but right from the time that sin entered the world, Adam and Eve understood the doctrine of substitutionary death, and taught it to their kids, and they knew this would be fully accomplished in the "Seed of the woman" (Genesis 3:15).
Paul's epistles give guidance to the Gentiles. The "gospels" do not give guidance to the Gentiles as they were written to The House of Israel. 2 Peter 3:15-16
It just seems there is a gift or a seal that we are given by the Holy Spirit Jesus did say to Peter, who taught in Acts from John 3;5-7 and again in Matthew28:19. It makes me kind of understand Peter a little bit better maybe or maybe I’m totally blind. And it’s not because I grew up in the church of Christ so don’t think I’m taking that position. I’m just trying to hear the words of Christ if that’s OK thanks Andy. because I believe Jesus, I’m gonna do it after the death of the testator Peter did command baptism. Acts 10:46-48 did he do it because Jesus asked him if you live me do it however you think I said? I’m thinking Christ said what he meant and maybe what he said means something else to you and if I don’t have faith in Christ first I would no bother being baptized. Why are you shouting against the church ok Christ ? Wasn’t Christ raised for one church you’re not saying we are heretical for or litter belief in all of the Words of Christ?
Did you not listen to this sermon at all? Honestly you need to watch Les Feldick that man will help make it plain. Remember him? The old man with the chalk board? He's the best at explaining dispensation and faith alone!
