    My fiancée broke the screen on her phone and all of her pictures were on it. Managed to follow this tutorial to get the phone working well enough that we could get her photos back. Thank you so much for posting this.

    Thank you! I have followed this video twice now to replace two cracked screens (silly me). The video explains it very clearly however two things to note - when you first remove the back there is a plastic tab underneath the top of the phone that you have to pull to release the glue. Secondly there is a small metal bracket around the left side of the speaker which needs to be unclipped and removed. Finally I would advice on disconnecting the antenna connector before removing the speaker (unshown in this video).
    Thanks again!

    I miss my Z2. The phone was great during its time. Stereo speaker, beautiful notification LED. One of it kind. But sadly the camera was plague with overheating problems. I am probably going to fix mine soon and use it as music player. Fixed it more than twice but the screen still broke (own fault😂) . Thanks for the video!

    Thanks for the guide! I bought my screen off eBay and just got the regular cheapie.. The colour vibrancy leaves much to be desired compared to the original but oh well.. I had an extra metal clip on the bottom left when removing the 'loudspeaker' section. If you don't know about this, then it can be easy to miss and a real pain. Overall, the hardest part for me was placing in the sticky stuff; you only get one shot.

If I run a touch test, every 10 taps, 2 or 3 won't register. Is this a problem with faulty cable connecting or a defective screen? Will opening it and re-connecting the cables work? Thanks!

    • @EricWitrigs
      @EricWitrigs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lucas Peixoto Heat up the adhesive at 150 degrees for 3 minutes by heat gun. Try to disassemble. If it is hard to open the phone, you can adjust the temperature or time and try again. You can use the hair dryer but it is hard to control the temperature. Do not stay one place too long when heating.

    Nice video. However, the person that was replacing the screen was wearing an anti static bracelet, but it was not connected to the grounding lead throughout the whole video and so it was not protecting against static discharge. Unless you were wearing it as a fashion accessory, you may as well have not worn it at all.

    Hello. I did everything as you explained in the video, but I have a problem because the display goes crazy and starts to open the application after a minute or two, without my touching the display (ghost effect). What's the problem? To note, I still have not put adhesive screen because I wanted to test it before putting the display.

    • @EricWitrigs
      @EricWitrigs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that. But it seems there is no exactlly effective solution. From the Sony forum talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z2/GHOST-touch-problem-Z2/td-p/663333/page/2, many z2 users have the same issue but can't solve it perfectly. If your ghost screen doesn't occur too often, just ignore it. But if it troubles you too much, maybe you should ask the professional for help.

    • @EricWitrigs
      @EricWitrigs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      sincethethird It is hard for professional repairers to separate the digitizer from LCD screen without any damage and combine them successfully. So we usually recommend to replace the LCD with digitizer if one of them is broken. The LCD with digitizer replacement part is here and you also can find all tools and adhesive stickers you need on this page :www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z2 .
      DIY repair or not depends on you.

    Hello. Just bought a new lcd screen and replaced it. Follow this video correctly allthough some small metalclip from the speaker part fell out and i had no clue how to put it back on so I left it since it didn't seem to be an important piece. Now that I've put it all together the screen "works" but more often than not it doesn't recognize any touching and i have to press the power button twice to "restart the screen" to get it working again for a few seconds. What have i done wrong?

    • @DIESELDUNK94
      @DIESELDUNK94 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DIESELDUNK94 It also seems to do things by itself, right now i am looking at the screen and its just going crazy with the top slidebar and moving around without me touching it?

    • @DIESELDUNK94
      @DIESELDUNK94 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DIESELDUNK94 btw it didn't come with any adhesive for the back of the phone so it's just put back pretty lose. I do have a hard cover for my phone so i guessed it would be enough to hold it together for now.

  • @rraka
    @rraka 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    The problem is not small, because after 1-2 minutes it starts with the ghost effect. It is not usable until the lock button is pressed again and unlock the display. I just bought a new digital displays and connect as it according to the instructions in the video you posted. The display works, the display color is fine. It seems to me that is a little slower response compared to the original, but it's okay. But the ghost effect is killing me. For now, I did not put adhesive tape and I'm not completely tighten the screws. Does it have something to do with the ghost effect?
    It would be great if I could solve the problem with Ghost effect. :(
    Compliments for video. It is very useful.
    Best regards!

    Hello,
    I left my Xperia Z2 into water and water entered the inside condensing. Later everything was ok except that the screen stopped working. Every time I turn on the phone it begins to work alone .. What do you advise me to do to fix this problem?
    Thank you
    PS: Very good video!!

    • @EricWitrigs
      @EricWitrigs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gonçalo Durão The screen is broken. Another possibility is that there is something wrong with the motherboard. You can try to replace a new screen. But if the motherboard is broken due to water damage, you have to send it to the professional repair store.

    Today my Xperia Z2 screen stopped being responsive on some of the bottom right portions near the side camera button and the some of the main bottom section after taking some video underwater in a pool.
    The screen is not cracked and everything was working fine before inserting it under water.
    Do I need to get the screen and digityzer? Or Can I just get the digityzer only?
    Thank you

    • @EricWitrigs

      George G The touch screen is broken, and you should replace it. Since it is hard to replace only the digitizer by DIY repair work, we suggest you to replace a complete screen.
