I don't get why in Asian dramas the young women in-love are often portrayed as "idiots/clumsy/brass" with a "genius" super rich guy. This drama is originally from a Japanese cartoon which was redone as Japanese, Chinese and Korean dramas. In the JD it ends with her having a daughter.
Yes, there was a sequel where after they married they had children. Japanese ML didn’t have great visuals.....
It’s time these writers portray these young ladies as smart i and intelligent instead as some fools always running behind these boys who think they are Gods gift to women
I watched this drama since KHJ played one of the F4 in Boys Over Flowers, the first of over 600 Asian dramas and films that I have watched. The original Japanese version was also depressing.

Most horrible drama ever. Potraying women as weak, pathetic and stalkerish while the man gets to bask in the limelight of the girls attention and mistreats her every single time. And they still have a happy ending... one of the reasons i dont watch romantic kdramas anymore.. so fed up of this .

Totally concur. The "idiot" girl and the "genius" guy. Or the "simpleton/clumsy/uncultured" girl with the gorgeous super rich guy!! It's soooo played out in Asian dramas that not surprisingly gets blockbuster viewer ratings
This is actually inspired by a Japanese drama and manga. So honestly it makes sense that the drama is like this.

Regardless of how toxic this dynamic is i cant help but to enjoy the push and pull of their relationship. Irl i would hope that no one would be naive enough to continue pursuing someone who treats them so terribly, but for a fictional story i can enjoy it. Afterall who really enjoys a story where they get together right away. Sidenote he treats her at least a little bit better than in the Taiwan remake, and in this version I can actually believe that he has feelings for her.

I hated this series. He was so mean to her through it all. The sad thing is she allowed it. He was disgusting. What it did is telling young girls or boys for that matter that this behaviour is acceptable in real life. Terrible 😢
