The female Ralts will always become a Gardevoir and it retains its ability after evolution. The male Ralts however not only becomes Gardevoir, but Gallade as well and the latter changes its ability upon evolution.

Gen 3 was my first game. I wasn’t allowed to play Pokémon as a kid. When I was 19 I played it on an emulator.
