And when KTM finally launched them in the last week, I was totally amazed by its power and torque delivery. But I'm waiting for this egnine in the adv 390.
With the exact same thoughts, I just bought a 390 ADV X. Ticks most of my boxes for around 5-7 years. I would like to add a point here. If one stays in the sub 500 CC category, I think, with a reasonably growing career, motorcycles will always get more affordable. Today's purchase may be a year's salary, but 6 years down the line, a much much better motorcycle in the same segment with be just 3 month's salary. That is the same mindset I had when I sold my BS3 himalayan and got 390 ADV X. 5-6 years down the line, I know for a fact that there will be an upgraded 390 ADV, hero's bigger Xpulse and may be few other's. So, there will never be a perfect motorcyle, & its totally acceptable.

Shumi is the life coach we all need… This perception towards motorcycles is the right perception for almost any decision in life. It’s not about being perfect but it’s about moving forward. Eventually you’ll get there…
Anyone who is watching you from even a year won't take so long to decide. rather What they will do is go pick one and then make that decision perfect for them. Thats what you say (taking so much time in deciding is nothing but the rider losing that time is thinking rather than riding). I did it with my bike, got confused in two, took a deep breath, choose one, went for it, bought it, and now that machine is the biggest reason of my happiness.

One thing that i noticed about shumi is that not he speaks much slower with calmness than before. More importance on educating and making points than just bombarding you with facts. Nice.
I had this fear of choosing the best bike. I previously owned an old R15 v2. It was with me for 5 years and was too old when I got it. After seeing your video, I didn't spend much time. Sold my old bike, ordered the new Fz v4. I feel happy that I didn't wait or think more. Like you said, there aren't too much bad bikes in market. And our decisions will be good to some extend. It's been 2 days since I got the bike delivered. Your video did help me take this decision. Love to see more videos relating to accesories ♥️
Riding for a similar duration as yours and of similar age and riding from my uncle's Bajaj Priya, Bajaj Classic scooters, Suzuki 100 cc motorbikes to a TVS scooter to my current RE bull, I am yet to find my perfect two-wheeler but all of them taught me something special and I thank them all and am still moving forward. Excellent presentation.
Most of the riders in India will not test ride the bike they buy especially in rural india Most don't know what kind of Riders they are They'll just grow with the bike they use There's a downside for it that they miss a more capable motorcycle Due to lack of knowledge What's your view on this I would like to know
Swami Shuminanand, charan kaha hai aapke. This channel is more than bikes and cars and how these change your life on a bigger perspective. As i keep saying keep up the good work guys. No going back.
Perfectly put but just adding one point, the Perfect bike/car/anything Is one that doesn't put a dent on your bank account. I see most ppl go all in and later regreat it. Buying depreciating assets in Loan is not the right thing to do I know it may not be a popular opinion but I think ppl should really understand the power of compounding. It's not necessary to buy the latest and the greatest sometimes it's fun to trash around a 200cc bike and with the increasing traffic conditions I think ppl should buy bikes that are small and quick.
Oof, this really hit the spot. Thank you Shumi. I needed to hear this while I was driving myself to despair choosing between the classic 350, the Honda Hiness and the Speed 400…
This Channel is aesthetically pleasing, both the content and creators. Hats off to everyone involved in the production. Please continue doing such amazing job! 👏
Loved the parallelism between developing taste for food and getting a bike. The way you have explained it makes so much sense. I've been dawdling between this, that, and the other. Now I just know.
Perfect words motorcycle wise man! I am in a crossroads at the moment, undecided which should be my next bike. I am Brazilian, 45yo 1.83m 90kg, use the bike as a daily ride to and from work in a big caotic city. At the moment i have a sym scooter (cruisym 150) which does the job perfeclty. However, the cvt transmission with the lack of the tork and the small travel suspension are putting me off. The more i ride, the more i miss my 1st bike, a ducati 695. Loved the soind of the engine, how it revved, how nimble and light it was. The ease to change direction, how easy it was to ride at low speeds, go around traffic, man i loved it. It was a perfect bike for that moment. I would not have it again. I am looking for a bike with more refinement, with some fun factor for my everyday commute. Not planning on riding on a highways. Also i do not want to have a bike that is on thieves radars. Not looking for a high cc bike (tested the bmw f900r and it scared me). Rode the bmw310r, liked the manageble power but calls too much attention (it has enough power for me). On a logical perspective, can you pls make some suggestions of what bikes i should look into? Thank you for your content and glad i found this channel. Ride safe!
I realise that there is no perfect bike, but you won't go wrong if you choose with your heart. So despite my sm650 being a hardtail, and all the back problems it will cause me in the future; I would still pick it for the way it makes my heart flutter everytime i look at it knowing that I own this beauty.
I keep getting better, more powerful, comfortable and more refined motorcycles and I think my latest one is so much better than the last one… until I hear a once familiar ringdingdingding and smell the burnt mixture of 2T and Petrol and Nostalgia kicks in. I crane my neck wistfully to catch a glimpse of two silencers, white smoke bellowing from them. And briefly, I’m 18 once again. In my 50 years and a dozen odd bikes, I haven’t quite found a motorcycle to replace the joy of that one.
I am 25 and I got the perfect motorcycle for me. It wasn't the even the third choice for me when I was choosing 3 months ago. But my dad, an experienced motorcyclist, pushed me towards it by judging how I acted after test riding the Hunter 350. I guess I am lucky to have a great guide otherwise I definitely would have made the wrong choice. And as you have rightly said, it's not gonna be the perfect bike for me after 3 years, and I'm aware of that. So I know which direction I'd like to go with my next bike.
Getting the access 125 at 19 yrs of age, for me was absolutrely perfect. Now, at 25 a pulsar n200 would be a perfect it for me; I got the pulsar n 250 considering that when I grow I will get more money and be able to afford the slightly costlier fuel economy.
Yes Shumi, it does exist. From all ive heard from you, dont buy a bike because you want it, buy a bike because you need it, it fulfills a purpose. Utility is Primary. Style is secondary. Best example. Continental GT vs Himalayan. Cheers
Not sure how and why I am always ending up the person who clicks that round figure like , in this case ur 500th click! U r correct, the right selection should end up years is great riding. Fun riding! I believe 90%of the people don't use all the features that are provided, but sure to see how many features are given while purchasing.
Totally agree with your pov. I got my rtr 200 assuming that the short stroked, slick handelling corner scraping sport bike is the kind of bike i love and need. Tbh, its a really good machine for that and iv had my fair share of fun on the twisties. On that note, whn i made my purchase decision 2 years ago i completely ignored the short stroked machines, espclly the RE Himalayan, bcz the short stroke motors donot have that same 20 odd bhp at the higher spectrum of the rpm band and for some reason i had considered it to be inferior. But now my friend has it, and as i ride it more i realise how much my heart connects with the Long stroke motor . And now, that as u say is a lesson learnt bcz my frst choice was not perfect and its a good thing .
@@Sktyy1139 yes agreed. Not gonna disregard what an amazing machine the rtr is on highways. My comment is all about the character difference between a short stroke and long stroke motor. One i considered to be superior to the other. Whch over a period of 2 years riding the short stroke motor and then getting to experience a long stroke motor, i realised it's not the way u judge a motorcycle. Rtr was just an example I used to tell the same bcz i just have my experience with that machine.
10yrs ago Pulsar 135 suited for me for my daily work. But then came back ache, need for power, Highway rides were not smooth. Now after a decade Suzuki Vstrom . Let's wait for a decade now
Perfectly said. Over the past 4 years i have moved from a thunderbird 350x to a ktm390adv to a Kawasaki Vulcan S to now an interceptor. I’m already thinking of what my next motorcycle will be :) Every single motorcycle has brought me a lot of joy and a i have ridden the he k out of them before moving on to the next flavour. My idea of perfection changes each year based on what kind of riding i enjoy, what my fitness levels are and what I want from the motorcycle. Pure tashan to offroad prowess to touring and power to classic styling and chill riding. Whats next? Well, we’ll see next year. One thing to understand is the fact that the used bike market is excellent in Pune, so i look at the 10% depreciation in value as an investment in owning and enjoying that motorcycle.
The same perceptions i had and i have now too… you totally said right.. i was always looking for perfect motorcycles but I didn’t get one. I was always lean towards fairing bikes but that made me wrong always. Why i was wrong i know now. Because i always chosen fairing bikes and fairing bikes are not practical always. I always wanted comfort now i am lean towards touring motorcycles and I started liking it and somehow touring Adventure motorcycles are practical in so many ways. Now Kawasaki versesy 650 has become my favourite because it has everything I wanted. look forward to buying it and i will. Now i have 2023 bajaj dominar 400. Thank 🙏 you sumi sir I have learnt a lot from you.

I always felt immensely for motorcycling but the perspective you give is next level and learning. It gives me immense pleasure to listen to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I don't have many or expensive or high performance motorcycles and I can't stop looking at them when they stop at signal next to me but Sir you taught me how to love the machine I already have. Doesn't mean I don't wish to buy the machine I want. Saving up:)
I used to imagine , by any luck if I get to meet this legend I will ask which motorcycle should I buy because I also wanted to make the right decision.
I still wish to meet you Sir :)
Lots of love ❤
Word, this makes a lot of sense. Any experience is an experience and everything to learn from. Applies to all aspects
Indeed! Thanks Krishna!
One thing that i noticed about shumi is that not he speaks much slower with calmness than before. More importance on educating and making points than just bombarding you with facts. Nice.
Thank you so much! ♥️
Shumi should make a video / Podcast explaining his Motorcycleing Career, will be very informative for new/Veteran riders.
What a gem of advice. This is true of life too, there is no perfect person beauty lies in imperfections.
Do you read our mind shumi??
I am crying among
new duke 390, Speed 400 or wait for some ev miracle!!
And you made this video!
Another gem 💎 from this man,,,one must give credit to the writer as well for amazing content every time..shumi🙌❤🎉
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your story with us Deep!
He has such a soothing way of talking that I lose track of the fact that this is a TH-cam channel about motorbikes 😁😁😁
Most of the riders in India will not test ride the bike they buy especially in rural india
Most don't know what kind of Riders they are
They'll just grow with the bike they use
There's a downside for it that they miss a more capable motorcycle
Due to lack of knowledge
What's your view on this
I would like to know
Watching this in October 2024 ... Was very confused about which bike to buy but after Shumi's word I know which one to go for
Thanks a lot Shumi ❤❤
Glad to help @prasaddalvi2735
Motorcycles may not be perfect but Shumi's videos are. His words age like wine
Absolutely right. Changes is the one which never changes .
Motorcycling is the golden standard for seekers, explorers and nomads
No matter how much dope one has nothing moves a sould more than a motorcycle
Not just motorcycles, any decision in the life is never perfect... it will suit you or teach you... valid point for all decisions
Absolutely! Good to see you in the comments again PSVK!
Thats unlike other channels.... concept is great and helpful.. psychology of humans behind buying or riding bikes 👍👍
Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team!
Very true I brought a bike without knowing much about motorcycles, been two years no regrets, it has become a part of me.
Awesome! What bike did you get Mukund?
@@motorinc Honda Hornet 2.0
Awesome! Glad you're having a good time!
@@motorinc thank you 🥂
Swami Shuminanand, charan kaha hai aapke. This channel is more than bikes and cars and how these change your life on a bigger perspective. As i keep saying keep up the good work guys. No going back.
And do you know another thing that's close to perfection? Motor Inc's video and their Quality!
All love to the team!
Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team!
Shumi sir the way you link things between life and motorcycles, riding etc is just out of the box and exceptional.
Thanks Chetan!
मन शांत हो गया....
जैसे किसी ने मन का बोझ उतार लिया हो।
आज का विडियो बाईक से ज्यादा , जिन्दगी के बारे मे था।
🤜🏽🤛🏽
Perfectly put but just adding one point, the Perfect bike/car/anything Is one that doesn't put a dent on your bank account. I see most ppl go all in and later regreat it.
Buying depreciating assets in Loan is not the right thing to do I know it may not be a popular opinion but I think ppl should really understand the power of compounding. It's not necessary to buy the latest and the greatest sometimes it's fun to trash around a 200cc bike and with the increasing traffic conditions I think ppl should buy bikes that are small and quick.
Why is that a auto channel is giving me free therapy and life lessons and I learning so much and enjoying learning from them ❤
Awesome for us to hear that from you Satvik!
Oof, this really hit the spot. Thank you Shumi. I needed to hear this while I was driving myself to despair choosing between the classic 350, the Honda Hiness and the Speed 400…
Glad to help! Best of luck DDS!
What an amazing presentation/delivery !!! Shumi's reviews are like Floyd to my ears.. Great work..
This Channel is aesthetically pleasing, both the content and creators. Hats off to everyone involved in the production. Please continue doing such amazing job! 👏
You grow & your preference change , Also as offerings increase your spectrum of preference widen ❤
Absolutely!
Loved the parallelism between developing taste for food and getting a bike.
The way you have explained it makes so much sense. I've been dawdling between this, that, and the other.
Now I just know.
Glad it helps, Anirudh!
I have Yamaha mt 15 v2 ,, She's perfect,,,in terms of performance, mileage, looks , refinement levels r superb etc etc ......❤❤
Thanks for sharing! Glad you've found a bike that meets all of your expectations!
We couldn't agree more!
Whatever shumi had said, it is all from motorcyclists bottom of the hearts❤💫.. love the way you explain, thankyou!
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi 🎉
The video i wanted to hear!! No better than shumi to explain this..thank you!! Wish u the best ahead MotorInc.. keep giving us such videos!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Now, at 25 a pulsar n200 would be a perfect it for me; I got the pulsar n 250 considering that when I grow I will get more money and be able to afford the slightly costlier fuel economy.
this could not come at a better time! at the same cross roads choosing a bike and wow this is soo perfect !!!!!!
Glad we're helping!
Agreed!
"how many times can you point and say that was a perfect decision" man made me question all my life choices 🥲
Just setting context Vikram 😅
Glad you're finding your taste and way with motorcycles HGP!
Exactly what happened with me between MT-15 and the Hunter 350. Long stroke >>>
I’m already thinking of what my next motorcycle will be :)
Every single motorcycle has brought me a lot of joy and a i have ridden the he k out of them before moving on to the next flavour.
PS: this is very much aligned to a video you made a couple of years back with a similar message. Thank you.
Shumi = Auto Guru 🙏
Man what an absolute depiction of the actual state of mind of us moto enthusiasts...
Thanks!
Thanks man for putting such a great composition together for us, which atleast helped me to get out of the "perfect motorcycle" dilemma. also let me tell you the way you guys compose every piece on your channel feels really amazing, like you connect that very far end with your audience, which believe me a lot of people are just trying to get to.... loved all your content..... keep it up......
2:55 do add photos of the motorcycle's as a popup on any corner of the screen to make it an engaging youtube video
I guess Shumi should write a book on "The art of motorcycling". That's how good he is in articulating his ideology❤❤.
Thank you Surya!
Sir last line was heart touching , thank you sir for a great video . Love from West Bengal .
Yes, i was so confused b/w rtr 200 and ns 200, i ended up buying Hunter 350, no bike is perfect.
As he said, it is highly unlikely that you'll go wrong buying any motorcycle.
how did that happen 🤣
