George, true words from country’s greatest singer❣️ I was raised up listening to you an I got the chance to take my mom to a concert here LMU, Tn. She got the greatest gift seeing you sing, we had the best seats front row center. We was thrilled “97” she passed away “2011” as I was sorting through her things I found the ticket stub she saved from LMU Concert. Thanks for all the great songs ❤️
l agree with you, indeed George Jones is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days….
The ultimate three chords and the truth Country Music song. This is his autobiography. George I hope you finally found peace man but this world lost a master.
I made my kids listen to this song It’s the best song ever written I heard it at a friends funeral. Marvin worked with me as a mailman we were both prior service he never talked about his time in service or what he done. At his funeral his wife had pictures of Marvin blown up in his uniform he was a Green Beret in Vietnam. Marvins wife said he wanted this song played when he died. I can’t begin to tell you what that song meant to me and still does today. I told my kids you have choices between right and wrong and I won’t ever bail you out if your wrong. Our oldest son is in the Marines made SSG in six years eleven months and our daughter is a real estate agent me and my wife are blessed because they made the right choices. Please share with people you love or those who are struggling with heading down the wrong path.
To me, this is the best country song ever written cause it represents the life I chose with drugs and drinking and now I am paying for those mistakes. I used to listen to this song in my darkest hour and now I stand in the Light. Things are much better now thanks to God, Jesus, and the Spirit. All glory be to the Trinity but thank you George for the piece of your heart you left with us.
Kenny Caine Life is one big lesson. I think most of us don't listen to those who are looking out for our best interests. In a way, we all live and die with the choices we make. Unforgiven by Metallica will tell you a story about the life choosing to let someone else run it for you. Or that is what I got out of it anyway
People come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime.. George Jones and his music have impacted and will continue to do so around the world.. Rest in Peace We will miss you !
My Uncle died behind those walls and this was the song he shared with me. I sing it or listen to it and I can still see one of the strongest men that I've ever met. Music is life.
I believe this song will be played at my funeral. Choices can either make your life something great or really in my case the choices I've made have been some horrible ones that if I could go back I would absolutely change them. But all I can do is hope I've learned enough from those choices to change my future for the better. Damn alcohol was what my go to was until I was about 34 and for the last 4 years it's been drugs although I don't do any drugs like heroin. I skipped that garbage and went straight for the Subutex which is prescribed but if I run out I'm still out on the street looking for them and spending money on them is just as bad as any other drug. With the good Lords help and prayers I know will come out on top of this addiction and will make my family proud of me.
Hope you doing good bro I’ve had 10 years on garbage 4 years clean you can do it. I don’t take 12 steps I RAN TO JESUS AND FELL ON MY FACE HE IS ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU JUST ASK. FYI HE WOULDNT TAKE AWAY THE DOPE SICKNESS TILL I WAS READY
Special one for you 2022.apirl.i didn't know I would regret my choice.you have tough me how to listen to my inner me,I pray this bez my last Regret in life.
You gotta love that lonesome guitar.... This is some real country music right here. George was one of the greats, and they sure don't sing them like they used to.... "I was tempted, by an early age I found, I liked drinkin', and I never turned it down... There were loved ones, but I turned them all away. Now, I'm living and dying, with the choices I've made...."
Reminds me of my mamaw. We used to listen to this all the time when she would babysit me 💕 I lost her in January of 2016 and this song means even more now
Believe it or not~~George only received two (2) Grammy's in his lifetime~~this song & "He Stopped Loving Her Today"....we miss you George...you music will live forever~~R.I.P.
I listen to this song and I think of my Uncle Jim who never turned it down until he died in 2014 and I think of my son who is battling to stay away from both at age 30. God bless both of you.

@@HeatherSmith-ii7mi just hoping someone got the message. I had some bad things happen to me and thats why I kept drinking hoping I would drown them out but it never happened. I did not expect it to bring me to this point. My Dad and Grandpa drank more but they never had cirrhosis. Thank you for caring.
I will never forget nor not acknowledge the person who put this song on the top of my brain when I look at myself & my encounters with others. I wouldn't have my physically apparent third eye w/out that person. Nor broken ear cartilage nor many unspeakable outcomes due to my choices. All's forgiven until it comes to trial.
