Top 14 Notion Tips for Productivity!

  • ✨ Is Notion even worth using if you can't make it look pretty? In this video I share 14 Notion Tips for Productivity broken down into 3 categories: (1) Time-saving tips, (2) Notion Organizational Tricks, and (3) Notion Aesthetic hacks.
    Although synced blocks is a new feature, I immediately saw a chance to use it in my Weekly Agenda template, and now it saves me an extra step of copying and pasting to-do's over to the next week. I also like to set reminders within specific Notion pages so I can go back to that block directly. The Notion Web Clipper tool is simply amazing: It lets me capture notes and ideas down so quickly when I'm just browsing the web!
    Of course, it wouldn't be a Jeff Su video without my favorite Notion Keyboard Shortcuts, and I share the ones I use everyday just to get things done a bit quicker 😉. Sorting your Notion databases correctly is also very important since Databases is such an important feature so I go through quite a few examples of my own Notion pages to (hopefully) provide you with some inspiration.
    Shout-out to Thomas Frank for the Nested Columns trick as well!

    I "archive" my finished to-do's to look at them when I feel unproductive or like I'm not doing enough, I just look at all the things I have done throughout the past few months, which tend to be a lot, and I just feel better and energized to keep going!

      Those tips/functions are cool. I love watching your TH-cam channel, but I have a very basic problem.
      I frequently forget to check my Notion. I just don't rely on the GTD system because maybe I'm not doing it right.
      I'm curious how you get your own GTD habit, and how it helps you. Thanks.
      ( sorry, I'm not a native English speaker. I already tried my best to express my question)

      @@LucienKuo No worries, I understood :). Basically if you commit yourself for 2 weeks, you will build the habit of checking. Also, I use Todoist specifically because the widget is always front and center on my phone, so I can't ignore it even if I wanted to!

    Since you asked us in the video, I can tell you a shortcut.
    You can automatically apply previously used font formatting onto other text by highlighting which specific text you need formatted, then using CMD + Shift + H. This is faster than your /colouryellow method.

    • @JeffSu
      @JeffSu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotcha, thank you for sharing Soroush! But it only applies the previous font formatting correct? Just to confirm :D

    • @SoroushTorkian
      @SoroushTorkian 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JeffSu Yes. So if you said "bold" last time, it will only bold. If you said "yellow highlight", it will only yellow highlight. If you said red text last time, it will only do red text this time.
      I don't think it can do a combination of two things (bold+highlight), if that's what you're getting at.

    I made a synced block withlinks to my main used pages just so I can get rid of the sidebar. That way all my page is content, and if I need to switch pages, is easier. Also, If I'm actually working on a specific proyect at the moment, but is embedded in a client folder, is so much easier to get to it. Once I finish it, I edit the block, erase the link, and that's it. And for the main pages I use icons, or tiny images (100 px square) instead of text. Just for aesthetics, because it looks way better.
