Left to right, the members of the group are: Rob Lundquist (big beard, main tenor and great whistler), Adam Chance (baritone/bass, making the mouth-harp noise at beginning and end of the video), Austin Brown (center, high tenor--I mean HIGH tenor), Adam Rupp (co-founder of the group, tenor, beat-boxer--considered one of the best beat-boxers in the world), and Tim Foust (bass-to-nearly tenor, five octave range!).

The next Home Free song should be their cover of End of the Road by Boyz II Men done at the urging of Shawn Stockman of BTM who was a judge on the competition show they appeared on. Remember no instruments when you listen to that one. They can do any genre.

Many people think this song is from the movie Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, but it is much older than that. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Man of Constant Sorrow" (also known as "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow") is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. A version recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928 gave the song its current titles. Enjoyed the reaction.

Thank you! It was first "published" in 1913, but it's believed to be much older than that. I saw an interview years ago about a family in which the song had been passed down through many generations.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.
Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella groupI

This is an old blues song from the early 1900s. Life was hard for the songwriter and people travelled by train back then.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. I hope you take this journey with this amazing vocal band. Home Free leans country, but can, and do, many genres from R and B to classic rock, to doo-wop to gospel and even opera. These men are humble, down to earth men with a wonderful sense of humor who love making music together and love their fans (called Home Fries). The man up front with the beard and hat is Austin Brown and is high tenor. The man in the glasses is Rob Lundquist and is tenor and has an amazing opera voice when he chooses. The deep bass singer is Tim Foust, who has a 5 octave range, the man with the suspenders and doing what we Fries call his no-monica, is Adam Rupp, the co-founder and the amazing beat boxer. The other man in the back with the hat is Adam Chance (goes by Chance), is baritone/bass and does the sound of the jaw harp in this song. They have many covers and many originals as well. I will let the other Home Fries give recomendations. Great reaction and I have subbed! Thank you!

I went to a Home Free concert in 2022 and it was a lot of fun to see them and hear them sing and talk about their music. They do use loops (Rupp demonstrated it), claps and stomps when helpful but they are all a Capella. So with the loops, Rupp is able to beatbox the rhythm and also make the harmonica sound. In a few videos they may use an instrument but if so, you will see it. 🥰

Generally speaking, Home Free does a capella; but they do have some instruments on a few songs--"Skull and Bones" for example. That is an original song written by Adam Chance (the baritone for Home Free and he sings lead on that song). Chance wrote and they recorded the song for a new video game and the video with scenes from the game is incredible.

Yes, one of the amazing thing about #homefree is that each band member is incredibly talented and brings something different to the group, while they harmonize majestically and have great group chemistry. It's an uncanny combination. All their music is food for the soul. Check out their cover of Folsom Prison Blues. BTW, they're just as good live.

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. Drummers have often commented on how realistic his drum sounds are. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Ring Of Fire", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley" etc.

All music is created by mouth or body percussion. All the singers can beatbox to some extent, but the main beatboxer in Adam Rupp, the dude who was creating the harmonica sound without a harmonica. He can recreate the sound of drums so well that actual drum players are astounded at his realism.

If you react to Home Free, the Home Fries will come to your channel! I agree with suggestions to do “End of the Road” next- Rob(heavy beard and glasses) has the main lead , and he presents us with Gospel Rob. Rob can be Angelic, R&B, Gospel, Pop, and Rap. The next may be “Butts Medley “ which is vocally great, but also shows you their humor. And if you really want to hear Rob cut loose, look up the TH-cam video of Home Free at the Hosanna concert 2013 performing their rendition of the Christmas carol “Joy To the World “. It’s a jazzy, funky arrangement, and Rob really digs deep. There’s even a beatbox breakdown.

Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. The group consists of Adam Rupp (beat boxer), Rob Lundquist (Tenor), Chris Rupp (Baritone, he left the group in 2016), these three are from Minnesota, Adam Chance (Baritone/Bass Who replaced Chris in 2016) from Alabama, Tim Foust (Bass - with a 5 octave range, G0-A5) from Texas, and Austin Brown (High Tenor) from Georgia. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.

Though published in 1913 by Dick Burnett, who did not compose it, this song is an old American Folk Song. It was already old when published - he just put it to paper - which then enabled him to earn from its use. Prior to that it was learned "by ear" having originated in & around Kentucky, Tennessee and thereabouts.

The song is over a hundred years old. It became popular again in the movie Brother Where Art Thou with George Clooney.
Home Free is labeled a country group, but they can and do all genres of music. You might be interested in their version of BoyzIIMen's End of the Road. Shawn Stockman of B2M was a judge on the acapella competition show The Sing-Off. Home Free won on season four of the show.
    The members are:
Austin Brown--the lead singer of this song, High tenor. Trained in musical theater.
Rob Lundquist- The guy with the glasses and beard. Low and lead tenor. Trained in opera.
Tim Foust- The bass. He can sing five octaves, so he can sing tenor, baritone, and bass.
Adam Rupp beatboxer. He and his brother Chris who is no longer in the group founded Home Free in 2001. He can also sing tenor but prefers beatboxing.
Adam Chance- The guy on the left on the back row. He is called Chance to prevent confusion with Adam Rupp. He can sing four octaves, which are bass, baritone, and tenor. He usually sings baritone unless Tim is singing lead. He is making the mouth harp sound in this video.
There is no lead singer. They all sing lead depending on the song. They have a vast catalogue of videos with all types of songs, serious songs, goofy songs, R & B, country, romantic songs, Christmas songs, etc.

Whether the singer is saying goodbye to old Kentucky (Tyminski), Colorado (Dylan), or California (Collins), somebody is getting the big kiss off. “Man Of Constant Sorrow” is essentially one of America’s oldest breakup songs. “If I knew how bad you’d treat me, honey I never would have come.” It’s that sunny outlook that has helped “Man Of Constant Sorrow” remain an essential part of popular music’s long, constantly evolving story.

In my opinion, Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves.
In this song they are making a distinctly southern (country blues/bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song (about the underground railroad). Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Remember This", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Try Everything", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page), "Listen to the Music", "Understand", and "Road Sweet Road" 😍!

This is from a 2000 movie O Brother Where Art Thou starring George Clooney. The film is set in rural Mississippi in 1937, and it follows three escaped convicts searching for hidden treasure while a sheriff relentlessly pursues them. Its story is a modern satire which, while incorporating social features of the American South, is loosely based on Homer's epic Greek poem The Odyssey. He's not sweating, it was raining

This song was originally in a movie about convicts being transported by train when a guy sings this. Talking about his girl at home that might leave him before he gets out of prison.

Yes it’s all vocals… No instruments! Adam Rupp is doing the “harmonica”, drums, clicks & castanets(Sea Shanty Medly). In live onstage Austin does harmonica duet with Adam. Chance does jews harp at beginning & end! Each band member his multitalented and often covers the part of a different band member! Can’t wait for your next home free reaction! Try. “How Great Thou Art”. Tons of great songs to listen to!!

The song was originally published in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan & Joan Baez among others. Home Free is the best acapella band around. They sing in almost every genre and, since 3 of them are song writers, there are lots of originals as well as covers. I think you'd enjoy the video "Sea Shanty Medley Live" - it'll be a revelation! The beatboxer (Adam Rupp) is incomparable!

Check out Home free drum solo.
That will get you a lot of views.
    You have been a pleasure.
You remind me of a black friend I have.
30 years later, and it kills me.
It was starting to get dark at the end of October. I ask him if he wants to go to a Haunted House, he started talking about I ain't scared of no boogie man.
So we get to this old 3 story house. Half way up this long dirt road and he asked me, this is top of the houses.
Then he 😊asked me where is the ticket taker? I told him, did you see any other cars?
Now comes the reason that I told you that he was black.
It's just me and him,😊 and he is the only one with a car key!!!! I like to ever keep up with him.😊

You made me laugh so hard! Really entertaining. I subscribed. I'm enjoying your thoughts on music that's new to you. Man of Constant Sorrows is a really old southern song that has its roots in Ireland. Hundreds of years old. It might have started as a religious song, as Isaiah in the Bible calls Jesus the "Man of Constant Sorrow" when he's prophesying about his coming birth and crucifixion. It's morphed over the years into a southern song about a man having a tough time in this life, but knowing that he'll one day reunite with his loved ones in heaven. A lot of old Irish music is sad - they're called "laments" - and they'd sing in beautiful melody about hard times or loved ones lost. Our American southerners who lived in the Appalachian mountains and thereabouts were descended from the Irish and the Scots and they brought a lot of that music tradition with them. Out of that we eventually get our modern blues and country music.

Rob Lundquist is the Teddy bear with the beard and glasses he sings a sultry smooth tenor, Austin is the one with the neat hat who was singing first he is a high tenor. Adam Rupp is the greatist beatboxer I have ever heard and that was him doing the Nomanica as he calls it all done with his voice He also does fantastic drums and castanets plus many others. Tim Foust is the bass with a 5 octave voice he can really blow your mind plus blow the speakers sometimes. Adan Chance is the baritone / bass in this one he is doing the jaw harp with his voice. They can all beatbox to some degree. You learn, you be oked and go down the Home Free rabbit Hole and become Home Fry like the rest of their fans. If you ever can go see them live or at least watch one of their concerts on You Tube.

A beatboxer commented one time and said he's partially making the harmonica sound through his nose. If you watch him closely, you can see him pinch off a nostril at one point. This is a very old American Folk song first published in 1913 as the Fairwell Song, but is believed to be much older than that. Although it has been covered by many famous artists it was mostly made famous from the movie O' Brother Where Art Thou. If you haven't seen it, you should.
You must check out their cover of "End of the Road".

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire, Remember My Name, Oh, Pretty Woman, Cruise, Stand By Me, Colder Weather and Life is a Highway. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

Glad you liked them. My favorite group. They do covers, original music, opera, about any genre. I think you would love their Boyz to Men cover of End of the Road. For a little 60’s/70’s try Love Train an OJays cover. Their videos are top notch. They can be serious (How Great Thou Art is fantastic), they can be funny (Butts Medley, which is not about women’s butts!). Beautiful harmony in Helplessly Hoping. And songs that have a message like Don’t Laugh at Me, Everybody Walking This Land, In the Blood. They won The Sing Off back in 2013, I think and you can view all of their performances (I would suggest videos that include the judges comments as they are priceless). Yep, you have just fallen into one of the best rabbit holes ever. All nice guys, love their fans, creative, sooo talented. Each of them could have a solo career and be fabulous. I am subscribing today. Please, please give us weekly doses of this group. (Fans call themselves Home Fries and are quite loyal, so I could see them helping to grow your channel.). Best wishes for success with all your endeavors and keep shining for Jesus!!

Subscribing in hopes of more Home Free reactions. Tim Foust, the bass, wasn't sweating, it started raining during filming. If you look closely you can see the rain and some puddles and Rob's (in the overalls) shirt is wet. These guys are great! There is no harmonica, in fact, we Home Fries call that the nomonica, it's just Adam Rupp. For a contrast, try End of the Road or Listen to the Music. They are spectacular in all that they do. Thanks for reacting to my favorite group!
