    I'd add some standard hooks and "micro" hooks as well as trebles, that way when you lose your jig you aren't sol and you can easily catch little baitfish using the smaller hooks

    • @773fishing2
      @773fishing2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if you swap out one of those treble hooks and replace it with two or three small hooks, circle hook or a wormhook or something small... That would be ideal. Everything else is awesome

    The braid is actually genius. Normal survival kits come with that horrible thick monofilament 😂

    • @espio23ify
      @espio23ify 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The 50 lb braid would be sooo useful in a pinch. I can't imagine tying up 50 lb to tiny finesse tackle; maybe a tiny bit of leader material would be a good idea too.

    1. Different sized split shots - 2 each
    2. Multiple sized single hooks - 2 each
    3. Multiple sized trebles - 1 each
    4. Small trout flies
    5. Plenty of those little plastic worm baits
    6. The line is good
    7. Swivels good
    8. Design and size is good

      Segmenting the spool, widthwise, to layer different types of line like an oreo cookie, would leave the same foot print and give the customer more variety of line to use.

    The kit definitely needs an assortment of standard single bait hooks (8,6 and 4.) And Id drop the lead sinkers and use steel. Many states, including us in Maine can’t use lead sinkers under 1oz!!

    Movie was "stand by me". I'm a train nerd RULE OF THUMB: don't walk between the rails, but alongside on the edge of the gravel. Shockingly easy to have a train come up behind you...yeah, it actually happens and makes a mess. It shouldn't, but it does and gets called a 'suicide'. That's actually railroad property and a railway detective will give you unending sh*t for trespassing. Trains are lethal and can turn you into mush.

      Hey train nerd why did we destroy all our passenger rail and consolidate the remains into Amtrak? Seems hella wack. I know that car companies got a bunch of subsidies and bought out some. I’m not all that into trains but I think it’s crazy how every first world country besides America has more transit rail now than 100 years ago except for us. I’m not trying to be a dick I would honestly just like to know. Back in the day trains were such a big deal and now passenger rail is basically non existent outside of the northeast corridor. Seems crazy. Even freight seems like it’s more commonly on tractor trailers than a train nowadays but thats just my anecdotal observations.

    I have a fishing survival kit I made and I put a few hooks in it j-hooks, treble, jig heads, medium bobber, barrel swivels, line 100yards mossy green braided line, bullet and split shot, worms ( about 4) that way I can just tear off pieces and still have more if need be and an kite handle to help reel in fish. So it's kinda a hand line fishing survival kit.

    I been doing survival fishing as a hobby my whole life. I usually try to find bait to use of some kind. I know this be hard to do during the winter months, especially in a state like Maine. In a survival situation, I like to use trot lines in a area that may seem active with fish. I already have a couple of survival fishing kits myself, which are little bit larger. I like to have a assortment of hook sizes, from #10 to #2 at least. I also carry a small telescopic rod and small spinning reel with me.

    Want to have a big upgrade? add a bunch of weighted flies like midges, bluegills and other species always love them, similarly to your pink worm there are weighted fly worms, great to cast with a bobber. I know flies deteriorate over time but when all you have is a weighted hook left you can always bait it up and continue using it.

    If you are going to be headed to a place alone that even has the slightest chance of getting into a survival situation... carry a telescoping rod or a little 2 piece rod with this kit would be the perfect combo.... Include a ladder style kit:
    Use this container to store worms, crickets, beetles, etc. as bait for small fish
    Use these xxx tiny hooks and the bait we found for tiny bait fish
    Use these xxxx tiny bait fish on this xxx rig for bigger fish and so on

Cheaper to get a Jeep or tracker and their stronger cheaper parts and less money to insure on top of that their road legal for wherever you need to go. For half the price of a side by side just put a lift kit on and they go everywhere

    Spider wire used to make a dual spool of line with a rib down the middle to separate 2 tests of line , would be awesome for your kit. Also I would suggest you only put 1 medium treble hook and more regular hooks due to space a versatility

    I'd add a firesteel and a small knife, just for the cooking.

    You can blame can-am for the broken buggy SEND IT probably isnt the most appropriate thing to write on the control arm bash plate 😂

    @Jon B. The line spool can be used as a make shift reel. Some inventing with a reeling nob etc. would be a make shift fly casting reel. That would fit in the box.

    Definitely think downsize the spool! Maybe just less line? If it is for emergency use you don't necessarily need to be carrying 50 yards of line. Cut it in half in order to fit a few more hooks/baits. Such a great package though!

    Put tippet into the survival kit, finding a bunch of spooked fish in a creek for example your going to need some tippet to catch those fish, that braid will stand out.

    Looks amazing, although i would probably change the plyers with some form of multitool (leatherman type thing).
    Fishing with just a stick brings back some memories from how we used to fish trout in the rivers close to where im from. Great video as always👏
