    Magic Square transformations are sure between the most complex ones in Legends size. They´re almost Masterpiece level of skill. Nice review and great figures.

      i have the whole set; these 2 were the EASY ones!!! they are at a masterpiece level; whenever I transform them, I have the video on!

    Ok, again the MS materials are brought into play.. I have these 2 guys and they are awesome. I admit the first time transforming them can be overwhelming for some, but once you've done it, it gets a whole lot easier. I really like transforming these figures and I much prefer this over the simplified transformations of the NA counterparts. I have zero issues with panels getting untabbed, you just need to tab them correctly, simple as that. Even from the first shot in this review, you can see Mixmaster's chest is mistransformed and Scrapper's torso side panels can be securely tabbed in.
    These guys are awesome, mp level transformations for legends figures, great articulation great aesthetics. MS Devastator is going to be fantastic, no skinny legs, no full body parts forming. Can't wait for the rest of this crew.

      Nah, bits do come undone all the time while posing. It's not "YuO juSt NeEd tO KnoW hOw, SiMpLe" it's just your copy happens to not do it as much as mine or Bobby's.

    • @itssleeze
      @itssleeze 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have these as well and have to agree. Mine do un-tab on the arms, but only if I’m forcing it, most of the time and when posing I’ve never had an issue. Transforming can be complicated on the first few goes, but it’s fine after practice and good fun tbh. I like how both modes clean up and I’ve got zero problems with the materials. Yes they are different to NA and more ‘gummy’, but feel quality in hand and I think helps with transforming, more than hinders anything. My one gripe is if you love g1 they are less accurate and fairly tall, but I don’t mind either of those problems

    • @barbahuub
      @barbahuub 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@itssleeze Yes, they feel quality in hand indeed. MS Constructions are a bit larger, because they actually combine (except for the pelvis part and lower arms) like Devastator is supposed to. They need a bit more length to give Devastator the height it needs. By the way, these construction vehicles should be bigger than for example Stunticon sports cars, right? ;-)

      I have a few MS bots now and you’re right, the first time is scary shit lol, but once you get them, it’s really satisfying going back and forward transforming them.
      Personally I’m in love with all the guys I have so far, can’t wait to finish Devy and Bruticus

    That's a leg elbow Bobby. I can see how you'd be confused.

    I wish a 4th party company ot even magic square themselves would upscale these guys to Masterpiece size, I'm dying for toon accurate constructicons and devastator. I think this is way better than newages devastator that has the entire torso as a separate piece.

  • @Mechanic618
    @Mechanic618 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It's nice if your primary interest is having complex legends transformations. For G1 collectors, the colors are wrong, the designs aren't as G1 accurate, finicky panel tabbing, and the materials have a ton of little sprue marks and other little visual issues/defects like how easily they scratch (as seen on Bobby's). It's great that they can pose pretty well (but so can most of Newage's), but they just don't look right in colors or design on a G1 shelf.

    What is the purpose of the chalky gummy plastics that MS uses? I’ve never really heard a good explanation, assuming there is one. To be fair, I’ve always felt Newage came across with the better “translation” of the characters they both do, but this one, I have to give to MS. I especially appreciate how MS hides the wheels on the upper body, whereas Newage leaves them out in the open in robot mode. This is another MS release that I would love to see tried in a masterpiece scale. I thing the engineering on these guys would translate better with larger surface areas. Either way, both MS and Newage have given some of us a hard choice to make. Great review. Guess I’ll wait until you finish with these guys before making my pick.

      They already did Gravity Builder, which is what these borrow most of their non-G1 design from.

      Bobby did a video on the different types of plastic. If I remember correctly it's a Sit Down Saturday.

    Clever and MP-esque designs esp as for how to hide the wheels , but only if MS has better materials and paintjobs and has more slender proportions......

    lol Base head....
    Legends figs with MP transformations bug me! I like a legends fig with the complexity a little higher than a mainline deluxe. For MP, skys the limit! They're not always super fun but I don't mind it in that line. I guess they scratch different itches for me.

    Bobby "loves nylon plastic" Face!

  • @brenoferreiraferreira4409

    I own these and following the instructions I had a nice ride while transforming them. When I checked the articulations points and range or when I manipulated the TF action figures to achieve a nice action pose there was no untabbing but that may be because I try to be light handed when handling TF action figures.
    I also don't like that they used paint and transparent plastic on the windows but overall I really like these figures and I will also wait until I see the rest of the team before I comment on which company (NA or MS) did a better job with the legends scaled Contructicons team and the resulting combined Devastator form.
    For now I think I may go with NA for combined mode and MS for single bot mode but I have to wait until MS releases the remaining 4 bots.
    Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.

      Same here. First transformation was a bit of a discovery process, but I quite enjoyed the following transformations. No issues with the material/build. They feel similar to the Stunticons to me. Can't say I agree with Bobby on this one... this review seems rushed and ininterested.

    Was the color correction in the closing slideshow after final thoughts intentional? The green looks much better in those images.

    I bought into both sets. NewAge is good for what it is- little Legends Constructicons. Magic Square might be a little too ambitious. I think if they were MP-sized with plastic that isn't that soft nylon stuff throwing off the tolerances (and better MP-style hands) we'd be dumping our Constructors. As they are, it's just like you said, the sculpt is great, they've got good articulation, but the materials make them too fiddly.

    talk about over engineered toys... it looks fantastic, but that's not one transformation I would do more than once
