This song really hits me, I suffered from depression most of my life, I had no friends that actually were there for me no one to love and hold, I begged for help and therapy. While everyone was happy and had their little friend groups and my family was being successful I felt all alone, but when I listened to this song I felt strength and love overcome me. Now I’m happily in a relationship and have everything I need.

As a Christian I didn't believe that it was possible to be unconditionally loved. As a child I'd listen to the first stanza feeling hopeless. As an adult who is no longer a Christian I've found that it's entirely possible to experience unconditional love and I'm incredibly grateful to be where I'm at now. Both with unconditional self love and with the rare unconditional love I've been lucky enough to receive from a select few amazing people. It's a beautiful living art. We're such an amazing species, and it breaks my heart that so many of us hold ourselves in mental constraints born of delusions we've convinced ourselves that we cannot overcome.
