Ang plano ko lang po ay bumili ng Blue Carbon with BMS sa online shop. Tapos i-plug and play ko lang po sa setup ko. Ang question ko po ay, Masisira ba ang system ko in the long run if hindi ko lagyan ng active balancer? Wala po akong alam sa paghihinang at sa pag bubutingting.. TY po!!

Good day sir, Meron po akong BYD 250AH Battery may Active Balancer at DALY BMS , nagtrigger po yung BMS di na mag on, ano po magandang gawin para ma on ulit? - My solution po for now para lang gumana yung solar namin is nag direct na ako sa battery para mag charge from the hybrid inverter. Then pag na charge na ang battery balik ko lang sa sa BMS yung connection.

Sir, solar setup po namin ay 230ah 24V. BMS 200A, Active Balancer 5A. SolarPanel 6pcs x 450watts Ok lang po ba yan active balancer sir? Nagluluko po kasi kapag umabot na ng 3.4v pero hindi na balance may nag full na kya nag shut off na ang charging. Hindi papo napupuno aming batery kasi hindi nagbalance since. May 12v 16.5Ah lifepo4 battery ako. Twice na ako nag dis assy to do bottom balancing. After ko i-assemble uli at i operate, hindi ko mabalance set up ko gamit lng ang BMS.. Subukan ko niyan itong na share niyo na pagamit ng active balancer. Maraming salamat

Good day to you 😊 very good questions you got there. I'm sure people who are browsing the comments section will definitely learn something from this. I'll do my best to answer them one by one. Q1. 1. Do you use BMS with a passive balancer or non-balancer BMS? A1. I believe the BMS I used in this video has a passive balance function. Q2. If you do, do you connect the BMS's balancer port to the active balancer? A2. All the balance leads of both BMS and Active Balancer are connected in parallel. Q3. Is using BMS even required if you got an active balancer already? A3. Yes, why? Because BMS and Active Balancer have totally different functions. BMS has overcharge, over-discharge, over-current protection, and even with a balanced function, it isn't just enough for my 200+Ah battery bank. Perhaps, for a smaller one, it could do a decent job. During the charging process, if the packs aren't balanced, the BMS will trigger its over-charge protection for the pack which is ahead of the rest, and during the discharging, it will trigger its over-discharge protection for the pack that drains first to its lowest voltage due to imbalance. And when there's too much current being drawn from the bank, the BMS will simply cut-off the flow of current (if the rate of BMS is right for the bank). Now, if the bank only has an active balancer, it will be without those protections I mentioned. Especially, during the discharging process to avoid being over-discharged, and over-current draw. "There's a saying that goes like this, " Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it." I hope I answered your questions. Thanks for tunin' in and God bless. 🙏

No, I'm not bothered. Not at all and I'm glad you found my replies useful. 😊 👍 Q1. When will the BMS overcharge protection gets triggered? A1. Mostly, a BMS over-charge protection triggers at 4.2 volts and its passive balance triggers at 4.18V, but still, it depends from which manufacturer and model it is. So far, it's what I have actually experienced from all the BMS'es I have used. Q2. Will it cut power to the battery if such event happened? A2. Yes, it will. The whole system will shut down and when it recovers, it will simply turn back on. This happens both ways, during charging and discharging. Note: If your application is for RC planes, I'd like to recommend only having a charger with balance function, like Imax B6, etc. Adding BMS and Active Balancer will simply add more weights to your RC plane. This is only a friendly suggestion as I have been an RC guy for a while too but if weight is not an issue at all, the better setup you'll have. @@JFLegaspi What I am trying to do is to put solar panel on my RC plane so the flight time could be extended, this is why I am worried that when the charge from the solar panel reached 16.8v the BMS is going to cut the power and my plane could come crashing down as the MPPT charger has overcharge feature already.

Good day. Mas maganda kung ang bobilhin nyo ay isang battery na 24V kesa dalawang 12V na series connection. Dahil yan sa BMS ng bawat battery. Prone to headache ang dalawang BMS na naka-series. Pwede pa sa BMS naka-parallel, pero series, eventually ay magkakaproblema. 😊👍

Very nice tutorial sir. By the way, I have a Daly Bms 16s 48v with blue tooth, does this have balancer? They said it has balancer. I downloaded their app and saw the screen and there’s a switch on the app for balancing but seems it’s off. I’m using Lifepo4 100ah. Do I need to put an active balancer? Where can I purchase it and what kind is your balancer you showed us? My inverter is the HOG 5kva. Thanks
Good day. Yes, I'd recommend adding an active balancer to your setup. I have never relied the balancing function of any BMS for two reasons. First, it has a very small amount of balancing current. Second, the balancing process takes place only when the cells reach 4.15 and up. Compared to active balancer, it has a max of 5-6A balancing current and starts doing its job at 2.5-2.8V. Good day. 😊 Q1: Ang battery bank na nasa 30Ah pababa ay maaring bms lang na may balance function ang gamitin or kabitan eto ng 1.5A active balancer. Sa mga battery bank na may mas mataas na capacity kesa 30Ah, dapat eto ay may 5 to 6A capacitor type active balancer. Q2: Madalas ay may makikitang bumigay ang fuse wire neto (kung ginamitan ng fuse wire) or may sign of leakage sa may positive side ng cells. Kung walang physical sign, dapat ibaba ang pack at check isa isa ang mga cells. 👍

Good day. The best to know which bms' amp rate should you use, is this way. Measure the starting current of the motorcycle by using a clamp meter and the result would be your basis in choosing BMS.
😊 Dapat alamin mo muna kung ilang series “S” ang pack na gagawin mo. Halimbawa, 3S, ibig sabihin 3 series, at ilang “P”, halimbawa 50P, ibig sabihin ay 50 na piraso na naka parallel. Kapag alam mo na kung ilang “S” ang gagawin mo ay kailangan bawat pack ay pare pareho ang capacity. Sa isang pack pwede iba iba ang capacity ng mga cells, pero i susuggest ko, huwag masyadong malalayo ang agwat.
Good day sir T. 😊 May mga medyo advance na SCC na may built-in temperature sensor. Kapag naka sense eto ng lampas sa ideal charging temp, hihinto ang charging, otherwise sa mga ordinary scc, wala eto.
Equalizer ang kailangan para sa lead acid deep cycle batteries. Meron ding mga hybrid inverters at SCC na may equalization mode na automatic tatakbo once a month.

Good day to you 😊 very good questions you got there. I'm sure people who are browsing the comments section will definitely learn something from this. I'll do my best to answer them one by one.
Q1. 1. Do you use BMS with a passive balancer or non-balancer BMS?
A1. I believe the BMS I used in this video has a passive balance function.
Q2. If you do, do you connect the BMS's balancer port to the active balancer?
A2. All the balance leads of both BMS and Active Balancer are connected in parallel.
Q3. Is using BMS even required if you got an active balancer already?
A3. Yes, why? Because BMS and Active Balancer have totally different functions. BMS has overcharge, over-discharge, over-current protection, and even with a balanced function, it isn't just enough for my 200+Ah battery bank. Perhaps, for a smaller one, it could do a decent job.
During the charging process, if the packs aren't balanced, the BMS will trigger its over-charge protection for the pack which is ahead of the rest, and during the discharging, it will trigger its over-discharge protection for the pack that drains first to its lowest voltage due to imbalance. And when there's too much current being drawn from the bank, the BMS will simply cut-off the flow of current (if the rate of BMS is right for the bank).
Now, if the bank only has an active balancer, it will be without those protections I mentioned. Especially, during the discharging process to avoid being over-discharged, and over-current draw.
"There's a saying that goes like this, " Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."

Q1. When will the BMS overcharge protection gets triggered?
A1. Mostly, a BMS over-charge protection triggers at 4.2 volts and its passive balance triggers at 4.18V, but still, it depends from which manufacturer and model it is. So far, it's what I have actually experienced from all the BMS'es I have used.
Q2. Will it cut power to the battery if such event happened?
A2. Yes, it will. The whole system will shut down and when it recovers, it will simply turn back on. This happens both ways, during charging and discharging.
Note: If your application is for RC planes, I'd like to recommend only having a charger with balance function, like Imax B6, etc. Adding BMS and Active Balancer will simply add more weights to your RC plane. This is only a friendly suggestion as I have been an RC guy for a while too but if weight is not an issue at all, the better setup you'll have.

Good day. Mas maganda kung ang bobilhin nyo ay isang battery na 24V kesa dalawang 12V na series connection. Dahil yan sa BMS ng bawat battery. Prone to headache ang dalawang BMS na naka-series. Pwede pa sa BMS naka-parallel, pero series, eventually ay magkakaproblema. 😊👍

Kuya may nagsabi paghiwalayin daw yung line ng bms at active balancer sa terminal block. Kasi daw magkaiba yung trabaho ng dalawa. Yung isa monitoring at isa balancing (transfering) kaya kung isang line lng daw eh mas maganda pag magkaiba.

Very nice tutorial sir. By the way, I have a Daly Bms 16s 48v with blue tooth, does this have balancer? They said it has balancer. I downloaded their app and saw the screen and there’s a switch on the app for balancing but seems it’s off. I’m using Lifepo4 100ah. Do I need to put an active balancer? Good day. Yes, I'd recommend adding an active balancer to your setup.
I have never relied the balancing function of any BMS for two reasons. First, it has a very small amount of balancing current. Second, the balancing process takes place only when the cells reach 4.15 and up. Compared to active balancer, it has a max of 5-6A balancing current and starts doing its job at 2.5-2.8V.

Q1: Ang battery bank na nasa 30Ah pababa ay maaring bms lang na may balance function ang gamitin or kabitan eto ng 1.5A active balancer. Sa mga battery bank na may mas mataas na capacity kesa 30Ah, dapat eto ay may 5 to 6A capacitor type active balancer.
Q2: Madalas ay may makikitang bumigay ang fuse wire neto (kung ginamitan ng fuse wire) or may sign of leakage sa may positive side ng cells. Kung walang physical sign, dapat ibaba ang pack at check isa isa ang mga cells. 👍

Good day Vincent. 😊 Para sa lead acid battery type, ay hindi kailangan ng active balancer. May mga solar charge controller na merong "Equalization" function. Automatic etong tumatakbo once in a month or pwede ding i set ng manual kung kinakailangan.

Good day. The best to know which bms' amp rate should you use, is this way. Measure the starting current of the motorcycle by using a clamp meter and the result would be your basis in choosing BMS.
Meron po ako 18650 battery namay 2200mah, 3000mah 5000mah pwede Kaya Yan series or parallel. Hindi bayan nakaka apikto sa balance ng battery.?
😊 Dapat alamin mo muna kung ilang series “S” ang pack na gagawin mo. Halimbawa, 3S, ibig sabihin 3 series, at ilang “P”, halimbawa 50P, ibig sabihin ay 50 na piraso na naka parallel.

Ang pinakamadaling paraan ay i scan ang battery bank gamit ang thermal camera. Makikita na medyo mas mataas ang temperature ng mga faulty cells. 😊👍
