You worked with me when I was in Middle School in Bucks County, PA, and now here I am as my college's Arrangement Director trying to get better at this whole thing, LOL. Thanks Deke!
This video (and the whole series so far) has been so so helpful for me!! I just got started as the music director of my group and I struggled a bit with my arrangements last semester, but I tore through your videos and also your book and all of that has really helped me change the way I think about arranging already! Just wanted to drop a quick thank you because I can already see some improvement in myself which is really exciting for me, and a lot of that has to do with your library of advice :)
Thanks, Nathan! I'm very glad, that's why I do this. There is no better arrangement than one custom tailored to a group, so helping music directors and group members arrange means more groups will have great arrangements that fit them perfectly. Go get 'em!
This video is very very cool, really recontextualized a cappella for me. Definitely gonna try doing something new while trying to nail down how to do it

Eh, weird, I'm arranging Landslide and was kinda shook for a second when you mentioned that song!
Is your book A Capella Arranging relevant to this? Specifically the approaching an existing song in a unique way?
Yes, in part, and we're writing a followup book - advanced level - that will tackle this topic more completely (released by 2024)
