I knew about the Macmillan editions but have never seen the little cloth Penguins, so thank you for introducing them to me! The Anais Nin sounds fascinating to me. I’m interested in Nin in part because she was a supporter of one of my favorite writers Marguerite Young. The way you described the story made me really want to read it! I’d love to go back and reread some of the Mansfield stories! Same for Woolf: I read some of her works (not that many) many years ago. The Garden Party sounds so good! I have yet to start my journey with Lispector, except for one story I read in grad school. Dostoyevsky is great, very psychological. I haven’t read White Nights, but I loved The Brothers Karamazov, Crime and Punishment and The Idiot. I would say The Idiot is a good one to start with, but I’m not sure it really matters that much. (I read Brothers K many years ago as my first and loved it). I completely agree that the aesthetics of the book can add (or subtract from) the reading experience! Thanks for the video!

I'm so interested in reading more from Anais Nin and learning more about her too. Hope you enjoy A Spy in the House of Love if you decide to try it. And thanks for letting me know about Marguerite Young, I'll have to look into her as well! Thank you for your lovely comment! 😊🧡
