At the end of "The Flintstones" (1994, WB AU/My Version/Timeline-ATTF).
What if Warner Bros. released it rather than Universal? What if Stephen Herek directed it rather than Brian Levant? What if Michael Kamen composed and conducted the film score rather than David Newman? And what if John Hughes wrote the script rather than Tom S. Parker, Jim Jennewein and Steven E. de Souza while he co-produced it with Richard Vane, Duncan Henderson, Chris Columbus, and Mark Radcliffe?
The Flintstones is a 1994 American family comedy film directed by Stephen Herek and written by John Hughes based on the 1960-1966 animated television series of the same name by Hanna-Barbera. The film stars John Goodman as Fred Flintstone, Rick Moranis as Barney Rubble, Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma Flintstone, and Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble, along with Kyle MacLachlan as as Cliff Vandercave, a villainous executive-vice president of Fred's company, Halle Berry as Sharon Stone, his seductive secretary, and Elizabeth Perkins (in her final theatrical film appearance) as Pearl Slaghoople, Wilma's mother. The B-52's performed their version of the cartoon's theme song, playing cavemen versions of themselves as the BC-52's.
The film, shot in California, was theatrically released on May 27, 1994 by Warner Bros. with a co-production of Amblin Entertainment, Hughes Entertainment and Hanna-Barbera Productions. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics who praised Herek's direction, Michael Kamen's musical score, visual effects and performances (particularly Goodman, Moranis, Perkins, O'Donnell, MacLachlan, and Berry), but criticized John Hughes' screenplay. It grossed $341.6 million against a production budget of $46 million.
