Nothing wrong on trying to duplicate what Dave is doing tho, it's even more interesting to me to find someone that can do exactly what Dave or other musician is doing, so it remains authentic.
no, let me correct here, is exactly what Dave played, but also 3x additional staff. maybe unwanted but sounded amazing. it was really a song for drums. If the parts written this way from Dave, nobody would passed that grade before high school 😅 Bravo re file mou!
I love that this is not a transcription but a personalised performance of the piece originally played by Weckl. This performance captures all the energy of the original but adds new and exciting phrasing to this song. A performance I have thoroughly enjoyed watching, exciting and grooving

I recently came to the conclusion that Dave Weckl is probably the greatest living drummer in the world today. A hard decision with so many other greats out there. An artist beyond comparison with a rhythmic imagination with no boundaries. After listening to Menios, I have serious second thoughts. Menios, you have taken perfection to a new level.

Great take. Dave is such a genius. It's one thing to play crazy stuff, but keeping it musically relevant is another issue entirely, and doing both is crazy genius. This song makes prog rock drummers blush.
YOU NAILED IT.....WTF! One would have thought this was Weckl himself. I actually had the pleasure of running into him along with Chic, John and Frank Gambale in the Tokyo airport last year. Really nice guys.
