Shortest MVP ever. Shortest No. 1 pick ever. He's the only guard to get picked first in the draft for about 25 seasons in a big man era. (Next was D Rose in 08). He won MVP and 5 scoring titles in a big man era as a 6 foot short guard. Absolutely amazing how talented he is to do all that. without handcheck in this era, he would drive by everybody easy and no Shaq in the paint to hammer him every play. Quickest player ever.
@@choward5430 He led a trash Sixers team with the 2nd best scorer named Aaron McKie (yeah, you've no idea who) to the best record in the league over the Lakers who has Shaq, Kob, Fisher Fox etc. He's 6 foot 185 pounds. Shaq is 7 foot 2 325 pounds. And he led a trash team over him. He's EASILY MVP.

AI will forever be an iconic figure who bought the hustle, the heart, the determination & the swag… He gave short Bball players like us believe heart is over height on the court 🔥
One of my idols as a kid. He changed the culture of basketball after Jordan. He raised a whole generation of kids , who all wanted to be just like him . He was fearless, as talented as anyone , and he was your favorite players favorite player.
You can’t, but love him! His authenticity, being real to himself and towards others speaks for itself. And on the court, he was fearless and one of the most talented ever. His killer crossover alone murdered many of his peers, even MJ got crossed over (though his defense was still great) Also the way he carried his team to the finals, his 48 point performance as well as the iconic step over on Ty lue resulting to the only loss of that tremendous lakers team can‘t be stated enough. I have to admit I really would’ve rooted for him to retire with a ring, but he‘s still a champion in my heart. One of the most influential players of all time. During his era, everyone wanted to be like him. I always wondered how good he would’ve been if he became a football player, cause he once said, he was even better as a football player. Nevertheless I‘m glad he chose NBA over NFL, because of his impact on other people including myself
I am 47 yrs ole, I never seen so much heart on any field or court. You just knew he was coming to play hard, every game! He inspired me to outwork everyone on game day, and I am a production floor foreman now.
The pound for pound GOAT. He always gave it his all and he loved his teammates. He gets nothing but love because it’s all he’s ever shown to everyone else.
Iverson wasn't even on my favorite team but I'd root for him anyway. Even when he played my Bad Boys, I'd still hope for Iverson to take the win. Bloody legend.
My all time favourite player. A glitch in the Matrix. There is a reason why you won't see anyone else at 5'11 dropping consistent 30p 10a double doubles - He was a rare generational talent. Same amount of scoring titles as KD, higher personal season best (33ppg in 2006) than KD, Lebron, McGrady, Melo etc despite being much smaller (all four were at least 6'8), MVP during era of Shaq, TD, Kobe, Tmac monster years, handed Lakers their only loss in that championship run, played the passing lanes and hustled like no one else, underrated passer, insane vertical... That's just on the court. The man is well deserving of his place amongst the greats. Along with Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Jason Kidd and Baron Davis, the NBA in the 2000's was stacked with great smaller guards.

I've watched and played ball my whole life and there's a lot of dudes who's games I admire. But I don't think I'll ever LOVE a player like I do AI. There will just never be another one like him.
Started watching him when he was at Georgetown (and I don’t usually watch college sports. And I knew he was a different and special player. Very exciting to watch.
A I was the epitome of cool ass baller. Didn't matter his size, the guy got as much heart and talent as anybody to play the game. He was a scoring machine and could cross you up like a swordsman. I'm thankful the late great Thompson was there to help him realize his potential. Iverson had an impact in basketball that still resonates today. He could have been one the best in pro football the dude was that talented.
Iverson's competitive nature is vastly undervalued and underappreciated. His tenacity, grit & charisma in addition to his skills & legitimately was the best player in 99. Iverson became a breathing institution of the young black Male & had a good 2 yr run of selling sneakers. He made a lot of ppl $ in these corporations..2k wouldn't be as big without having Allen on the inaugural cover in his prime. He had kids from different cultures practicing his moves. Culture changer
One of the few guys I would say: plays hard; just doesn't work hard. I wouldn't want to build a team with him but he sure is entertaining. Definitely a Top 75, MVP player.
Although I was never a big fan,i can't denied his skills on the court but definitely a important game changer for bringing hip hop in the nba mainstream.
Iverson is the guy that kept me watching basketball after Jordan retired, he is truly larger then life, much love for the Answer. Coolest basketball player EVER.
I started paying attention to Iverson when he was playing at Georgetown. Dude was impressive in college and just kept getting better. He was just what the NBA needed at the time. Something different from Jordan or Bryant but just as spectacular!!
It’s hard to explain how easy it was to root for someone like AI. Full tilt 100% of the time. Favorite player ever starting when I was 7 years old when he got drafted.

Iverson was a killer on the court. I’m still mad at him for ruining the Lakers perfect postseason record back in the 2001 Finals. I only say that out of respect, because he was that damn good.

Dude is just a badass.
Tattoos, hella baggy uniform, hip hop attitude, never give up mindset, flashy style of play, etc,
And in his older age he’s been able to respect both the games past and present, something very few have been able to do.

If it wasn't for the rest of the 2000-01 Sixers leaving him alone to carry, he would've won a ring.
Guy defined swagger for sure. Changed the league not only in style of play, but being himself, wheather that was abrasive or not.
