    This is the first video of yours that I watched. I "liked" it halfway through it. And I subscribed and turned on notifications when the video was done. The only thing left to say is that, IMO, you are NOT a "nut case" but instead a generous and talented expert sharing her passion and knowledge.

    Great video! Instead of a puzzle board, I put a large inexpensive white board on a card table. The board is large enough to do larger (2000-3000 piece) puzzles I plan on doing and though it’s a little awkward the setup can be moved aside or tucked under a bed if I want to use that area for another purpose for a bit 🙂

      Good idea! I’m still trying to figure out what to do for my much larger puzzles because they will not fit on my puzzle table.

    Yes puzzling is my ME time. It helps me relax even though most all i know or family thinks its aggrevating. I have puzzled from early teens and during Covid .....it took a huge turn to POPULAR again.......as i had trouble ordering any. 🎉

    For many years my mother and I used the shallow rectangular box tops to shoe boxes as our puzzle sorting trays. Set at a slight angle on top of each other they stack up very well. When we were done puzzling, those box tops went back into our closets on their respective shoe boxes. Today I use White Mountain's Puzzle Sorter (sturdy nesting cardboard boxes offering 6 trays). I like how they nest into the size of one puzzle box. I like the puzzle scoop with light that you showed in your video. That looks very handy.

    • @thepuzzledmandy
      @thepuzzledmandy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great idea. There really are so many ways you can repurpose something to use as puzzle trays. The puzzle scoop is certainly one of my most handiest tools though.

      I don't know if it's just me, but there is something so satisfying about being able to slide (hide) my puzzle table under the couch. Must-haves? SNACKS on SNACKS on SNACKS! 😆I like to listen to audiobooks or a fave movie/TV in the background, especially if it's related to the puzzle image/theme. I live in a NY apartment, so I have two framed corkboards (one small and one large) for building my puzzles; I put one on the coffee table while I'm working. When not in use, I can easily slip under or behind the sofa. The frame keeps the puzzles from slipping off and getting lost. I like the feel of the soft cork. I use the large board for 1k piece White Mountain puzzles, 1,500 piece puzzles, and anything measuring more than the standard sizes.

    • @thepuzzledmandy
      @thepuzzledmandy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing better than tons of snacks to munch on during puzzle time! Gotta keep that energy going lol. Using corkboards sounds like a great idea. I for sure know how small NY apartments can be, so anything to save space is a must.

    One item you might add to a list of puzzling essentials is a comfortable chair, especially if you're going at it for long periods of time. Those heavily padded office chairs, I think, work best, but if all you have is one of those hard metal folding chairs you can buy relatively inexpensive seat cushions and that might help too.

    I don't go in for a great deal in the accessories department. I use large catering trays for my pieces and foam core board to do the jigsaw on. I would love to have music on but I am deaf and to hear anything worthwhile I would have to have the volume at ridiculously high levels. That would probably annoy the neighbours no end! 😮

    I use sorting trays, but I prefer just plain ol’ rectangular ones so pieces don’t “hide” in the nooks and crannies of shaped ones. And I find they’re easier to grab on straight sides. But otherwise, 👌🏼

    • @thepuzzledmandy
      @thepuzzledmandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really good point. I do love my puzzle piece shaped trays, but pieces do tend to get lost in them at times or I can't really fit much in them. It would really make more sense to just use rectangular ones as they would hold more pieces and provide more sorting space.
