It is the oldest US settlement west of the Rocky Mountains. There were older settlements not connected with the United States.
With the title of this video and series, I believe it implies it being the US, but thank you for the clarification.
You are confusing the Flavel mansion, which you show, with 2nd Flavel house where “Hatchet Harry” lived.

.. just as a side note..make sure you pronounce "Flavel" correctly in the next Astoria video too.
