@@Moodboard39 first, study anatomy, then study realism. After that, keep doing realism. After you've advanced realism, find your style, you mood board.
Depends, because remember: everybody has a different nose, and when they face different directions. Tip: For cartoony styles, a circle or triangle will do, or the simple line.
The first one, if proportioned correctly and shaded, would have looked better than the second one. The second one is unrealistically perfectly even on both sides for the "camera angle" which isn't pointed directly towards the character's face from the exact front. (Edit because I'm not sure how to phrase this)
The nose is a 3d object, so I think using a wedge shape would be a better guide than just a flat triangle, unless you're drawing a face straight on. If you're drawing 3/4th view like this the nose isn't going to be perfectly in between the eyes, if you're drawing a character with a big pointy nose like I have for example it might cover part of the eye.
For thoose who have more cartoon-ish styles: draw two parenthesis, both facing opposite from each other. Then two small curved lines that NEVER connect to the parenthesis. Then experiment with sizes, upwards noses and downward!
Wow! Ur a really good artist my guy!! I just went through you videos, and I just wanted to say that they are absolutely stunning!! Keep up the good work dude! 😁👍✨️
There's a difference between drawing realisticly and having a style. Besides, to make a functional art style, in most cases you have to learn how real facial features work before you exaggerate them.
"Adding more work"? You mean using guidelines to help with your placement and proportions? I don't think I have a single art book that doesn't break the face down into shapes like this - pretty standard
I Skip the triangle and it turns out fine when I do realistic stuff. I also recommend shading the one side of the nose more cus it just looks a bit flattish and less like it has a bridge. Noses tend to have a strong shadow on the one side unless the lighting is really weird.
Dude I used to spend 10 minutes to an hour working on a nose and I might even give up bc I couldn’t get it but now after I did this I don’t have to worry thanks!

This is a good tutorial, but not all people have triangle noses!
True! I think the triangle is good for placement, and the circles are the true shape of the nose 😵
This is just bad tutorial lol
The 3 circles work well with any nose, just adjust the width or whatever to make it fit. The triangle just helps with the placement of the circles.
