I came here looking for more films by Yevgeny Mironov, after seeing his performance in "In Tranzit" (which was by far the best thing about that film!). This seems to me to be a far better film also: why, WHY is it unavailable in the UK?
Now available on Netflix. Sweeping film with severity, tenderness, cruelty, gang fighting, escape attempt, romance, etc. Down to earth, documentary-like, but real life there was probably another ten times as bad, according to Solzhenitsyn..
