Fun fact: According ND Stevenson, the script was originally cut off like that with no plan about what he had said, but to record it you needed to actually keep speaking after that point or else it wouldn't sound natural when cut off like that. Micah's voice actor improvised it as "I'm not dead!" and basically as soon as he said it they were all like, "Whelp, guess he's still alive." And that's why we got Micah's return here :)
Micah succumbing to the signal as soon as he figured out Angela was gone is the saddest thing to me. All these years, the thought of his family was the only thing that kept him going and as soon as he knew he missed his daughter growing up and his wife was gone he gives up, even if it's just for a moment.
What's pretty cool is that Micah returning got foreshadowed when they were stuck in the portal. Every time one of them got their memories, they had this look of being freaked as their eyes went distant. Portal Micah had the exact same expression right after Angella left, which means he wasn't an illusion
6:52 this scene is made even more impactful when you realize that this is what he was trying to tell Queen Angella in the portal reality. He was about to say "wait, Angella, I'm not dead"😢
Yeah, the problem with Glimmer is that she has always done what she wanted, always insistent that she is Right and everyone else is Wrong. She never listened to anyone. The difference was, she still had a mother to try and keep her in check. Now she's Queen, and when she believes she's Right, her authority amplifies her arrogance. It's interesting that while both her and Catra are on the same trajectory, Catra is fully aware that she's losing it, while Glimmer still believes nothing is her fault. Catra is falling apart, Glimmer's head is held high. Catra is committed to her self destruction, while Glimmer walks blindly into it.
Imagine how shocked she's gonna be by the season finale. When Double Trouble confesses their feelings to Catra, proposes, and Hordak officiates the wedding. With Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio as Catra's bridesmaids.
Also, DT admitting that they masquerade as a random member of the Best Friends Squad because they desperately need a friend, now that they see what friendship is like… They also admits that they get an odd and worrying thrill whenever they masquerade as Swift Wind (basically any speaking role, think about it, has any other ‘livestock’ ever spoken before? The horns and wings are DT trying to masquerade a believable excuse for a talking horse…
One of the most underappreciated heartbreaking lines in the show: "Queen? But if she's queen, than that means..." The fact that Micah had been holding out and surviving in that hellscape for 15+ years, but when he learned that his wife is gone, he just can't do it anymore. It's so damn sad.
I can't even imagine what Micah must feel like learning that not only has his daughter grown up, but his wife is also gone. On a brighter note, Micah being alive means something good is actually happening for a change, so... Yay?
Oh my freaking gosh her dad is alive like I thought this was a joke but he is alive like I can’t believe he is alive she is going to be so happy to see him again

Man, can't believe we're already to the Micah arc of the show. The best friend squad's death and Micah taking up the mantle of She-Ra is one of the most unexpected twists in the whole series.
Fun fact: the "signal" is actually a message for the First Ones to evacuate following the activation of the Heart of Etheria, it's played backwards and distorted to become the depression inducing signal the group is struggling against.
My headcanon is that Shadow Weaver sent Micah to Beast Island (or convinced Hordak to send him there) as an alternative to killing him. She wouldn't want someone with that level of magical power simply destroyed, especially if it's something she thinks she can come back and tap into some day.
She also showed some genuine care towards young Micah when she spared him after becoming Shadow Weaver, so I think she also has an _extremely_ rare soft spot for him, the kind she doesn't seem to have for anyone else.
@@vilmublues752 It was the same "care" she showed Adora. That's what Light Spinner/Shadow Weaver does, she finds the person with the most potential, and she shapes them to be able to use their potential for her own goals.
@@Janoha17 I don't think it's _exactly_ the same, personally. Right after transforming into Shadow Weaver and killing everyone else she stops, her expression softens as she touches Micah's face and she lets him go unharmed. I think there are some moments that seem to indicate she cares for him in a way she doesn't care about Adora or Catra or anyone else. Even still, she _was_ mostly interested in him because of his unusual power + the Light Spinner episode shows signs of her escalating abusive behavior in the future, such as her manipulating Micah's naive and eager nature, suddenly yelling at him when she was suspicious of him having some other teacher, and at one point touching his hand in an unnecessarily rough manner. So while she was never a truly nice and caring mentor, I think she had a bit more genuine care for Micah and maybe tried to be more emotionally distant with her future targets as a result, because she doesn't want to deal with that.
@@vilmublues752the way I like to see it, Shadow Weaver has 2 sides, she seems to have an innate urge to teach and mentor, she likes to teach those with a lot of potential. But, she is also very power hungry and easily gets power high, and she always picks the choice that gets her more power. she is willing to to anything for power and importance, and unfortunately even use her students, she does have a soft spot, but that soft spot is easily overrided
Even if she didn't personally send Micah to Beast Island, she was definitely a high enough officer by then to know where he was sent. She didn't mention it during the discussion, but she did find time to joke. She is an extremely sentimental psychopath obsessed with magic.

Beast Island is genuinely unsettling. Not only is the weird First Ones organic-tech aesthetic already a little uncanny, but the idea of the Signal is straight-up horrifying! A strange droning noise that enhances your insecurities and basically gives you depression so you won't fight the island as it consumes you and makes you a part of it... and the fact that no explanation is given for _what it is_ just makes it all the more frightening. Seeing Glimmer's dad was a fun and unexpected twist, and I really like him as a character. I do think it's a bit undercut, however, by the fact that we get the "character's parent who we thought was dead shows up again" reveal _two more times_ after this (three if you count both of Scorpia's moms, but they show up together). Glimmer's reckless arrogance is getting _really_ dangerous here; I look forward to seeing your reaction to a few episodes from now where she gets taken down a few pegs when the Horde invites her to dinner but then just serves her Jell-O as a power play. It's such a fantastically intense scene!
Yooo that jello scene hits different when you realise the Horde had to learn to make it since they only eat ration bars. They thought jello was fancy 😭
Constantly throughout season 4, the rebellion were too late. They were too late to stop the attack that ended up with recruiting Flutterina, they were too late in realizing there was a spy among them, they were too late to save Mermista's kingdom, but finally they were on time to still be able to save Micah.
Refreshing to see a reactor properly empathize with Glimmer's situation. You don't have to agree with the (terrible) decisions she's making to understand why she's making them.
Old Fogey time: Beast Island was in the original show, but it wasn't as important. It was like Hordak's private menagerie or something. Out of like the 90 some episodes of that show *old shows tended to have insane numbers of episodes, in which like almost every episode is filler, so easy to pick through to decide what you want to be relevant in a show like this where there is a proper over arching storyline*, pretty much the island was just full of random monsters and a guy with a whip if I am remembering correctly.
Micah never gets the credit he deserves, in my opinion. I believe its mentioned that he is (one of) the most powerful sorcerer "that has walked the halls of Mystacor" in a 1000 years. He has no rune stone, but he could compete with the most powerful princesses. So when he turns to the dark side in Season 5 and starts hunting Glimmer, she's in real trouble. Ironically, it's Shadow Weaver who buys time for Glimmer before Micah kills her.
Glimmer would still be Queen. She inherited the throne from Angella. Micah would be take on a male version of a dowager queen/queen mother role like QE 2s mom did. He’d be the king father I guess.
Hey everyone! Remember to keep the comments free of any spoilers of future episodes for Mosco. Have fun & be creative with fake spoilers! Also, make sure we’re keeping the comments cool & comfortable for everyone here. Enjoy the reaction y’all!!!
honestly I have been tempted to post real spoilers, but worded in such a way that the clearly outrageous elements you would never think were real. Heck this episode would have been on them, that Glimmer's dad was alive despite everyone insisting he was dead and was just exiled by the Hoard to some monster island despite him being a king making him a valuable prisoner.
Three reasons I find the exile realistic: Hordak doesn’t seem to think in terms of hostage exchanges and other diplomatic strategies, Shadow Weaver may have been trying to give Micah an escape option for personal reasons (in which case she might have been overestimating Micah’s abilities), and keeping a powerful sorcerer for more than a few weeks seems like it might be dangerous.
Speaking of family reunions, arent we getting close to Adora's twin brother Adama showing up aboard his battleship Greyskull? (Still can't believe he never gave up trying to find her...💖)
That flashback, with him trying to find her and how he watched her get send through the portal to protect her by people they trusted was soooo incredible heart breaking. But yeah, the whole squad together makes the last season so amazing. Really brings it to a higher level. 😎
@@Brasswatchman you mean this, right? th-cam.com/video/evodPpqb9H4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Hvh_IqUFCnl3RZCX Definitely makes the ‘Picard Maneuver’ look pathetic by comparison (Just for an idea of scale, Galactica is the size of two American Football fields, or possibly two ‘soccer’ [as us Yanks call it ;) ] fields laid end to end, she’s a huge ship, and the Pegasus is even bigger (newer ship)
I appreciate the practical constructions of the film more now that they have been made largely obsolete. As an adaptation and as a coherent story, it does fail.
Micah's return here was so, so powerful. Not to mention Adora's flashbacks and the way her eyes started glowing as she reconnected with the power of She-Ra. One of many moments throughout this series that unfailingly make me cry. And with episode 11 down, the season finale is just around the corner...
What for? Adora always has her incredible strong and basically unbreakable sword and next season the group even gets a support animal. They're fine... 😇😉
@@Smartie234 but the ‘support animal’ is just DT trying another different character to gain more intel on the Best Friends Squad, they did t intend to get so attached to their new character role though…
Also call back, remember the reality being distorted episode and Micah was there, Angela was saying he wasn't real and just an illusion and was dead...that was actually him. As she flew away he was trying to shout out, ":wait I'm still....alive".
I think peoples issues with the catra thing is they all subscribe to ‘ultimately they’re good/bad’ instead of going ‘ultimately THEY CAUSED HARM and nobody is obligated to forgive them no matter what they do to make up for it. It’s up to themselves to redeem themselves in their own eyes.’
You might come to like Catra in season 5. She turns out to be a real cat in disguise and becomes the best friend squad's emotional support pet once the ghost of a human surrounding it fades away.
You're at the part where I get more and more anxious for each episode you watch, since I so want to see you react to what comes next!!! And it is true, season 5 is on a whole new level: the space travel, the clone on clone romance, the flesh-eating plants, Catra's emotional support pet, Scorpia's reunion with her family, the exploration of Castle Grayskull! Unggggh, I'm so excited!
Horses have to be very careful not to get leg injuries and their eye sight isn't very good. They have to be careful about anything small and unpredictable. Also, have you seen Monty Python? Rabbits are not to be trifled with.
It’s another subtle touch of Etheria’s lack of patriarchy that there is no need to call Micah a Prince Consort. King and Queen are interchangeable terms.
@@ram333 So funny thing; I started watching Elijah around the start of her Arcane reactions, maybe just before because I remember being excited when I saw her post the first episode. I started watching Mosco after her Lackadaisy reaction. Didn’t take long for me to start thinking they’d be a cute couple (at least from what I could see from their public personas). You can imagine me slowly losing it as things played out. I was right though, they’re adorable together.
You're right about the sword. There's a scene in season 5 finale where Catra captures Adora and Adora says something like "I don't need the sword to defeat you" and turns into She-Ra without it. She still uses the sword after that, since A) it's still a useful weapon, and it's designed specifically for She-Ra, and B) continuity, I guess, it would be weird to see Adora suddenly without it. Plus, it makes stabbing Hordak to stop the universal apocalypse easier.
I don’t think it’s much of a spoiler at this point but let me just say, when all the princesses get their own She-Ra transformations, Scorpia has the coolest look. Edit: a letter
So excited for when Mosco finds out that Micah is actually a zombie who was raised from the dead by Shadow Weaver and will be forced to be killed Glimmer and die right after. Such a great episode!!!
Just wait until the episode where the Red Knight, Angella's other husband, shows up and we learn more about how He and Micah teamed up to save her from the evil Queen Hunga and how the relationfleet between Glimmer's parents got started.
nice to be called a legend.I was glad you didn't hear Micah's last words in the alternate realty episode and no one corrected you. Be prepared for Micah's interactions with the princesses he still thinks glimmer is like 2 or 3 years older that before and doesn't remember her face soo he might mistake another little princess for being his daughter.🧊🧊
Glimmer is ridiculously easy to manipulate. Like it's almost comical. Also Glimmer can stfu about being "left behind" 🙄 like yeah you wouldn't listen to anybody unless they were stroking your ego, and then demanded everyone fall in line with what you wanted, and then blamed them when things didn't go your way. Like seriously, she was sending Adora on missions to be bait, and Adora *did* those missions, then she blames Adora for not doing enough as She-Ra. No wonder Adora was like "yeah im going to do this thing idgaf what you think." People tend to not like authoritarians, Glimmer. (She makes me so god damn mad this season 😂)
"It will give you power like you've never known" See, sentences like that should ring all the alarms in anyone's head. It's like a genie saying "you will get **everything** that you deserve" or something, like... there's no way that sentence is a good thing! If it was a good thing, you would say something better and less ominous! But Glimmer doesn't have someone to tell her "No" anymore when she's being reckless... (Also, I'm way more on Adora's side when it comes to Shadowweaver being given so much freedom and trust by Glimmer... like... she's a known abuser and manipulative schemer, who's only on your side because she lost her position of power within the Horde. Yeah, she's been helpful, because she doesn't have a lot of other options, does she? I swear she'd backstab everyone for a teeny, tiny whiff of that heart-power, I mean she's already some kind of... power... vampire... thing, isn't she?)
Hey, look at the time! It's Mosco Reacts to Shera O'Clock! :P I swear, the first time I watched this episode and they got to the island and we could hear the creepy sound that only Swiftwind could hear, I was SO worried about where this episode was leading...and...well, rightfully so! lol And then seeing that the Shera powers didn't work, I continued to get worried about where this episode was leading to. Again, rightfully so. Annnddd then we get the Daddy of Brightmoon, King Micah, reveal!
The background cameo of Snarf in the pub on Beast Island was subtle, and I’m glad it wasn’t a speaking role, it was more than likely DT trying to be subtly And unobtrusive…
Oh, do deadbeat dads go for milk in Scotland? It's usually cigarettes in the US. That probably says something about our respective cultures that I choose not to examine.
If I had a nickel for every time Entrapta was left for dead only to come back happier than ever, I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
When Horde Prime destroys the sword Adora looses all hope, until she’s visited by the ghost of Mara. Adora, “I can’t beat him, without the sword I’m nothing.” Mara, “Are you She-Ra, Princess of Swords?... The sword helped you control and focus your power. It was never the source of your strength.” Adora, “I’m not as strong as you.” Mara, “No, you’re not. You’re stronger.” Back in the land of the living. Horde Prime, “Tell me little sister, what are you princess of again?”
Now you understand why in the portal episodes, he yelled to Angela "Angie. Angela, wait! I'm not-!!!" He was going to say "I'm not dead"

That flashback, with him trying to find her and how he watched her get send through the portal to protect her by people they trusted was soooo incredible heart breaking. But yeah, the whole squad together makes the last season so amazing. Really brings it to a higher level. 😎
I'm still amazed they got the rights to use He-Man!
@@Brasswatchman you mean this, right?
th-cam.com/video/evodPpqb9H4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Hvh_IqUFCnl3RZCX
Definitely makes the ‘Picard Maneuver’ look pathetic by comparison
(Just for an idea of scale, Galactica is the size of two American Football fields, or possibly two ‘soccer’ [as us Yanks call it ;) ] fields laid end to end, she’s a huge ship, and the Pegasus is even bigger (newer ship)
In the episode with the reality distorsion when Angelica said goodbye to Micah he responded "Wait I'm" and the rest was "Alive".
Also strong Neverending Story vibe on Swift Wind sinking into the island…
Yes! That is such a good book. Shame about the movie adaptation, though
I appreciate the practical constructions of the film more now that they have been made largely obsolete. As an adaptation and as a coherent story, it does fail.
Omg Artax!!! 😭😭😭😭
NOW, you know what Micah was trying to say to Angella in season 3 episode 6 the portal " Wait, Angella I'm not..."
I cried so much when Bow died. Completely out of nowhere
Micah's return here was so, so powerful. Not to mention Adora's flashbacks and the way her eyes started glowing as she reconnected with the power of She-Ra. One of many moments throughout this series that unfailingly make me cry.
And with episode 11 down, the season finale is just around the corner...
For the couple episodes, HAVE HAMISH WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES!
What for?
Adora always has her incredible strong and basically unbreakable sword and next season the group even gets a support animal. They're fine... 😇😉
Hamish is going to need his own Best Friend Squad.
@@Smartie234 but the ‘support animal’ is just DT trying another different character to gain more intel on the Best Friends Squad, they did t intend to get so attached to their new character role though…
4:18 “Are you scared Marv? Are you afraid?”
~Home Alone(1990)
Nope, good guess tho!!!
Also call back, remember the reality being distorted episode and Micah was there, Angela was saying he wasn't real and just an illusion and was dead...that was actually him. As she flew away he was trying to shout out, ":wait I'm still....alive".
Glimmer's Daddy issues are going to boil over when she learns Micah is Frosta's dad.
The real Horde was the friends we made along the way
You might come to like Catra in season 5. She turns out to be a real cat in disguise and becomes the best friend squad's emotional support pet once the ghost of a human surrounding it fades away.
She is so cute that way in Season 5. And the blue fits her reds in a surprisingly good way.
@SantaSlaws Yeah, she's better once she's no longer wearing her mask.
Plus the running joke where she keeps knocking Adora's water off of tables slays me.
Don't worry, it's going to be all fun and games from now on. They all go into a theme park together and Catra eats some jello.
15:08 Why Do The Scary Monsters Have To Have Such Cute Names? 😖
If there's any issue I have with this ep, it's how low the music is in the mix. The score to this one is absolutely heart-crushing
You're so observant. Looking forward to your reaction to the finale of season 4 especially, and of course season 5.
Horses have to be very careful not to get leg injuries and their eye sight isn't very good. They have to be careful about anything small and unpredictable. Also, have you seen Monty Python? Rabbits are not to be trifled with.
10:01 Plus consorts generally don't get dibs on the throne. Usually.
It’s another subtle touch of Etheria’s lack of patriarchy that there is no need to call Micah a Prince Consort. King and Queen are interchangeable terms.
@@joelpartee594 Wait. Does anyone ever call Micah King? I don't recall that happening.
Looking it up, the first hit I get is Angela showing Adora the big mural and saying “King Micah. My husband.” early in Season One.
Season 5 is easily the best of the show! I can't wait to see your reactions!
The reference was from Elijah’s Arcane reaction, specifically in regards to Caitlyn asking Echo where Vi is, right?
That is such a cool observation!!!!
WELL SPOTTED 🤣🥺
You see that weird shadow at 4:28? That's Kermit, the frog. 🐸 He's gonna be jump-scaring you a lot soon!
Micah, Glimmer and Frosta: one big happy family.
I keep forgetting that Swift Wind has wings and never uses them
When Catra gets a therapist for her abandonment issues her character really turns herself around, imo.
I just think it's hilarious that the therapist is Perfuma...
Liking the festive sweater. Loving the red mug.
Glimmer made a deal with the devil.
Gosh, it is just so terrifying, seeing the life leave Bow, Micah, Adora, and Swifty's eyes as the signal gets to them!
So excited for when Mosco finds out that Micah is actually a zombie who was raised from the dead by Shadow Weaver and will be forced to be killed Glimmer and die right after. Such a great episode!!!
Those ‘eggs’ are definitely eggs, they’re Etheria’s version of the Xenomorph
I love your reaction videos! And i cant wait for you to learn that shadow weaver is micahs mom
Mosco , u never need to defended your stance on Catra at this point. Live your best life boss 😁😁
great! now go rewatch the final of season 3, specifically angela saying goodbye to micah
Big bugs are already the worst but big robotic bugs just make it ten times worst 😫😫
Finished this series just few days ago for first time. My fav character is Catra just because shes so... oof 😂 and I like villains
MORGAN THE RIZZ TERRY STRIKES AGAIN
Evil Glimmer is coming. Can't wait for her to married Daddy Hordak.
The best character has returned!
Flogg is coming with the rest of the Evil Mutants and Skeletor.
Wow, good reference! I raise a glass.
I will see that glimmer isn’t actually as easy to manipulate
The Next Two Episodes And The Fifth And Final Season Are Even Crazier Than This One, Trust Me!
bad news, Micah missed multiple birthdays. good news, catch up party montage
That was amazing!! Loved it!!
"It will give you power like you've never known"
See, sentences like that should ring all the alarms in anyone's head.
You think that's surprising, just wait till you meet Adora's dad!
Hey, look at the time! It's Mosco Reacts to Shera O'Clock! :P
I swear, the first time I watched this episode and they got to the island and we could hear the creepy sound that only Swiftwind could hear, I was SO worried about where this episode was leading...and...well, rightfully so! lol
And then seeing that the Shera powers didn't work, I continued to get worried about where this episode was leading to. Again, rightfully so.
Annnddd then we get the Daddy of Brightmoon, King Micah, reveal!
I was waiting for this one to come around. XD
The background cameo of Snarf in the pub on Beast Island was subtle, and I’m glad it wasn’t a speaking role, it was more than likely DT trying to be subtly
And unobtrusive…
I can't wait for the beach episode
I haven't seen you're Vox Machina stuff yet, but I'm guessing the character you wanted to die was Scanlan.
Next season is really on a higher level. And they even get their own support animal. Hamish knows they need therapy after all this.
Catra’s birth mom wasn't a support animal. She made Shadow look like a great mom.
@@Travis_D_Travesty That's how she supports. Showing how not to be. Worked with Catra's brother.
Oh, do deadbeat dads go for milk in Scotland? It's usually cigarettes in the US. That probably says something about our respective cultures that I choose not to examine.
"I understand that Glimmer has been through a lot-" AND CATRA HASNT????? HELLO???
If I had a nickel for every time Entrapta was left for dead only to come back happier than ever, I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Daddy Hordak❌
Daddy Micah✅
When Horde Prime destroys the sword Adora looses all hope, until she’s visited by the ghost of Mara.
Adora, “I can’t beat him, without the sword I’m nothing.”
Mara, “Are you She-Ra, Princess of Swords?... The sword helped you control and focus your power. It was never the source of your strength.”
Adora, “I’m not as strong as you.”
Mara, “No, you’re not. You’re stronger.”
Back in the land of the living.
Horde Prime, “Tell me little sister, what are you princess of again?”
I love your videos the future episodes are chef's kiss have a nice day 😊
