  • Here is the latest version of the Sofirn with their SP33S. This is sporting the world-famous Cree XHP70.2 LED. This also has the USB Type C charging system to help quickly charge the included 26650 cell. You get very good runtimes plus you can use any 26650 flat or button top type. This has some subtle changes to the body style. This is combination beam leans more towards the flood side with less a bit less throw than previous models. This solid and rugged build quality is very nice and most of all budget friendly. The UI is simple so just about anyone can use it. See link below on where you can get this kit:

I agree Sofirn provides the best flashlight for your money, some other brands are usually only better at one thing but I haven't found another brand that provides a flashlight with good specifications, full features at an affordable price like Sofirn.
Wurkkos which is Sofirn's sister company also provides good flashlights, usually their flashlights have more attractive designs and more color choices than Sofirn.
And some of their accessories can also be used in Sofirn or Wurkkos flashlights, for example the 18350 Sofirn tube can be used on the Wurkkos FC11 and the 20350 Wurkkos tube can be used on the Sofirn SP35.

Amazing review realistic goals and how you were surprised at even the modest expectation. I was completely amazed with the IF25 which I took out into the desert and lit up the side of a hill! for 400yds! A single 21700! I've my new SP33s on the USBC now. Can't wait to check it out tonight. Do you think Sofirn underrates the output. In my independent Lux measurments they far exceeded factory spec.

Charles, I have a question. I own the Sofirn SP33S and love it. Is there a better flooder than it with the following features/specs below? Which flashlight would you recommend that comes closest to the specs below.
    - Higher Lumens than the SP33S.
    - More range than the SP33S.
    - USB charging (preferably on the side, not on the tail, like the Wurkkos DL10R).
    - Can sit flat on it's tail.
    - Side button (not a rotary switch like on the Wurkkos DL10R).
    - Good build quality.
    - Good run time.
    - Not a girthier, soda can shape flashlight, like the Sofirn Q8's shape.
    - No bigger than roughly about the Astrolux FT02S.
    - No halo or ring effect / No artifact ridden beam effect (like on the Astrolux FT02S).
    - Doesn't get hot fast.

Hey, I've got a question. Is this normal, that when the button turns red, the levels (100, 600, 2000) becoming lower/weaker? The battery then is 3.7v, in my opiniom it's enough to still keep higher output.
Is this how the boost driver works? When i move this battery to my Astrolux ft02s with FET driver, it illuminates much brighter.
While the sofirn becomes weak still with 3.7v.
It makes me sad about sp33s

@@CharlesBridgTec It's new light, just bought it. Full charged battery gave me about 1h of third step lighting (2000lm), after this time button turns red, and steps becomes much weaker, compare to when the button was green. Maybe that's how boost works - lowering the output so that the flashlight lasts longer.
I'll try to deal with that.
I also have a lot of samsung 40T cells, so i can replace after sofirn will weaken the steps. But this 3.7 volt's dimming hurts me
