    Hi Nick, Have you been able to check on Specter version of Fleta? I am looking for something smooth to my GT10 (pancar) with 10.5 turns. I wanted to go for regular ER but the released Specter and I wonder how it could work with 2WD.

    Two questions please...
    Would the differences between them by the same in a 13.5 wind?
    Is the fleta better than the R1 v1.5?
    Thanks

      Hi
      Yes, the 13.5T ER and Sting have the same variations.
      I am waiting to test the new R1 motor, but for fast circuits I expect the ZX V2 to be at the front.
      The cooling will enable it to be geared hard, and still keep speed at the end.
      Nick

      Unfotunately I bought that tester about 40 years ago, and it is no longer made.
      Was sold by "RS Components Ltd" part 611-953
      Keep a search on Ebay, maybe one will come up

      Thanks Nick...Other Questions, whats the Rotor needed to boost the 13.5t Muchmore fleta zx V2 in your last video?

    • @nickadams5411
      @nickadams5411  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Spencer. You will need a higher strength, preferably about 1450 - 1500 gauss. The Trinity/Revtech rotors will fit the Fleta. And it was one of those.

    Hi I have the actinium v2 17.5 in blinky and I have it set for 3 amps. Should I tune it for 6 amps? It's geared 69/33 in a b6

    • @nickadams5411
      @nickadams5411  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Israel
      If your B6 and gearing is giving you all the performance you need , then leave it.
      If you want more top end speed, then advance the timing.
      Check motor temperature is not too hot after the run, or gear with smaller pinion.

  • @spencerclements2012
    @spencerclements2012 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Nick, if replacing the rotor on the Muchmore to titanium and the motor is already 12-18 months old, is this a major issue or waste of time?

    • @nickadams5411
      @nickadams5411  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Spencer. The age of the motor is not an issue, as long as the bearings are good. But the Titanium rotors are for high rpm. They have less torque than the standard rotor. Therefore they are very good for large high speed tracks. But smaller and indoor high grip tracks, they will not have the acceleration, and will require smaller pinions (larger FDR) to prevent overheating.

      Nick Adams thanks Nick, think I understand your thoughts and will test out the idea on our tracks. FDR is 8.20 and Motor comes off around 30c with timing at 43. Happy to hear further when you can. Cheers

    Good day, what are KV and RPM values for the Fleet V2 Sting engine?
    And for the ER legal engine?
    On the video, the types of motor are covered by the conector in the test. Thank you

    • @jiribocek5986
      @jiribocek5986 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      And why is one engine timed to only 39 and the other to 49? Then the values can not be compared when there is always another timing

    • @jiribocek5986
      @jiribocek5986 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you please do the test just write me the values of STING engine at timing 50?

    • @nickadams5411
      @nickadams5411  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jiri
      The KV can be set by the timing, but a comparison of performance is obtained by setting the power in vs the KV out.
      So setting at the same amp draw gives a direct comparison.

    • @nickadams5411
      @nickadams5411  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jiri
      The Sting 17.5T
      The maximum timing that can be set on the endbell is 47 degree.
      The endbell will not turn any further.
      The readings are : KV 3704, RPM 27785.
      At that maximum timing the amp draw is 14.1A at 7.5v which equates to 106watts of heat being dissipated in the motor before it does anything to move the car.
      That dissipation will cause severe motor overheating.

      Hello, Mr Adams, thank you very much for your answer. So STING Engine is worse performance than ER Legal Engine? I was told that the STING engine is stronger than the 15T engines

    Hi Nick -must have missed that part. there are a bunch of titanium rotors on the muchmore site. I saw a yellow sting titanium rotor. I would think that combined with their ER v2 would be a great combination.

    • @nickadams5411
      @nickadams5411  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carl
      The V3 looks very similar to the MuchMore.
      It has a few upgrades which should bring it up to the latest and best motors.
      They say the winding resistance has been lowered by 15-20%, but that is compared to their V2 which was poor.
      The rotor looks like a step forward.
      Cooling obviously improved.
      Weight, they say about 155gm which is good. (The Hobbywing holds the record at 132.4gm (13.5T).
      I will be testing the new Rocket V4 and the new R1 V17 very soon.

      Hi Ricky
      For Blinky racing.
      If you have no means of measuring the amp draw, then it is a bit of trial and error. Turn the timing to 50 degree , as marked on the endbell.
      Check motor temperature after race. If too hot turn back a couple of degrees.

    Nick, again great vid! I have the Actinium V2 and its a decent motor. I have to bring up the Team Scream Racing The One 17.5 again though. Its the lowest weight I have seen yet: 144.8 w stainless steel screws. (The newest Motiv I think is around 144 even though) The rotor Gauss is at 1680 avg. Its a 4 line rotor, their strongest. And the stator resistance is 36.4 and 36.6 (when measuring a/b and b/c together) I havent ran this particular one on track yet but my other TSR (similar numbers) was far and away faster than all the others. This is on a 100x45 ft black carpet track with 17.5 blinky touring car. On a large asphalt track the very strong rotor might hurt top speed but on the tighter carpet tracks in 17.5 TC it seems like the more rotor gauss the better. Its ROAR legal but not sure if its BRCA legal though. What is interesting is their use of non magnetic screws, (similar to the full tilt Fantom V2 which uses aluminum screws) TSR claim 300-500 more rpm simply from less resistance from pulling against the field. Do you find similar results?

    • @Luke-en2tk
      @Luke-en2tk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not BRCA legal, Team Scream isn't sold in the UK as far as I know and it may not meet BRCA requirements. The most popular motors in spec racing here are the R1 V15 for 17.5 Blinky and Fantom V2 in 13.5 Boosted

    • @jaylestingi
      @jaylestingi 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luke Burr Hi Luke--thanks for the info. TSR seems to center around the USA and not being BRCA legal I can see why. The new (revised) Trinity Monster with the lower resistance stator would be an interesting test. The original Monster was very fast in 17.5, a definite contender. The revised one is thought to be even quicker.
