Excellent ! Like you, my life-long preference for gin is BEEFEATERS.. Tried dozens of others; Beefeaters is the very definition of a dry gin. I also like "on the rocks".
if you only single strain it the ice chips will fall into the glass, and you will get the desired effect you are looking for without it actually being on the rocks.
