man this is turning out pretty wicked. i hear ya about getting the chest piece and ab piece to work together. i know i cut mine several times before i got it right. love the idea with the magnets to keep the two pieces lined up. i am really enjoying this build. hopefully when your done, you get a chance to pose side by side with joe and his rx-78
Aloha Dan I’m very happy to see your gundum work…it’s a lot of hard work and challenges …I saw you on TH-cam on Anime Cosplay 2023 in LA your Mobile suit was Awesome I really really like it… I was looking to buy a Gundum suit can you tell me which website they have these ok take care and God Bless will follow you instagram for more of your builds…
Yes the white part should be snug since it's the smallest part of the body. For measurements, just have to measure the width and depth of your gut since you're making a box to fit around your body.
I already asked a month earlier just but I just wanna clarify something since I'll be working on the waist of my GM cosplay next. Does the bottom of the waist rest below or above the belly button area? I just really wanna be sure I get this part right
@@rxwave7666 The bottom of the waist does cover my belly button. But it's up to you on how you size, scale and position your pieces. Gundams and other mobile suits are very leggy so you can maybe try making it rest above. My suit's legginess is achieved in part by the 10" lift on the feet.
@@leonite934 I've always been some sort of crafter and my skills were able to be carried onto making this cosplay. I was both surprised by my skill and also kind of expected it lol
This is awesome :D you should wear a mask when sanding so you don't get that nasty stuff in you lungs :) keep up te great work even though this comment is three years late :D
I want to do this but as a statue of my custom astray it's got the destiny arms and hands astray head chest and groin area hip mounted strike freedom railguns the fenice Rinascita shoulders and legs and the hand like fingers section are barbatos lupus Rex for those lovely little claws and on the astray red frame head instead of having the normal v-fin it actually has Testament gundam style horns but facing backwards. And it has the flight unit backpack from the red frame but instead of having the side-mounted extra wings I installed the Destiny Gundam Wings into those polycap plugs fits just perfectly and everything is all snap-together other than the horns on the head the only real issue was painting all of the green parts from the legs and shoulder armor to a red and same with the blue parts from the arms and repainting the Destiny Gundam Wings to either a gold or a green which I ended up doing to match the energy cloth Shield emitters from the shoulder armor because I didn't feel like painting those and I just thought it worked and I repainted all of the camera sensors on the head gold instead of leaving them the green stickers they were supposed to be
Omg I love how the cockpit opens and shows the pilot!
it is beautiful

Heya of you don't mind me asking. The bottom of the waist part should be around the stomach area right?

Do you think making eva foam 1/144 Gundam models will help?
It could. Then you can scale it up from there.
@@dandoesjunk7546 how did you learn if I may ask?
