    Timely video, Alex. I couldn't ride in winter without my heated gloves. It's -1C here in this part of the UK right now and my hands freeze in 5 minutes flat even with good quality non-heated gloves. But I prefer the type with batteries that charge from USB-C, which makes it possible to go longer distances by rotating two sets of batteries and just charge the depleted ones on the go using the scooter's USB socket or a powerbank under the seat.

      These ones also charge from a USB plug, the battery has a barrel connector but the cable connects into a USB-A for power.

      I was thinking, the same, but with a twist. For my Rev'it! gloves, I intend to make some battery packs, using 18650 Li Ion batteries. If I make, let's say, four packs, combined with the batteries the gloves already have, there is no need to recharge the depleted ones on the go, using some powerbank, or the scooter USB charger. It would cost me nothing, as I already have all the parts I need. A half hour soldering job would do it.

    These look very good. I might switch from good old snowmobile gloves, and covers.

    Nice review , Alex with an interesting subject: heated gloves, very good for riding in the cold season ! Very good observation related to the reduced control over scooter using big gloves , meaning that more attention is needed ! Best regards to you and to all your subscribers !

      You should start trying heated gear, after that is trying to find tyre chains for when it snows 😂😂😂😂

    right on time. I just got motorcycle gloves (agvpro) for riding my scooter in town, only to find out that my hands freeze just the same as not wearing them. I also noticed the reduced feel and control you mentioned with bulky gloves, wich is about the same as frozen hands. I might give these a try but I don't my size.

    I always ride with finger on the brakes! Reaction time is better this way.

    Hi, there. I also have a pair of heated gloves, Rev'it! Freedom H2O. They're quite similar to yours, with some small differences. The palm is entirely goat skin, there are four selectable heat levels, on a single push button, which illuminates indicating by blue, yellow, orange and red LED. For these levels, the heating would work for 480, 240, 170 and respectively, 130 minutes. Each battery has a 3.5 mm female power plug on which the gloves are connected, a 4 white LED charging level indicator, an on/off push button, and a micro USB charging connector. In the box there is no charger, but a "Y" charging cable, USB A to two micro USB plugs. The gloves are fitted with various membranes mentioned in the marketing bullshit section of the user guide, and are truly warm, but very thick and diminish enough the dexterity. Used them on a Constanța to București trip, fully charged, on orange setting, and both ”died” exactly when I left the A0 highway, to enter the Alexandria road.😂 In city riding, I found them not very suitable, as they caused me to become clumsy and I made a couple of mistakes, which fortunately, didn't end up in a collision. So, for city ride, I use some winter leather gloves, combined with a couple of ”handguards” I ”invented” for my Sym Symphony ST, and my regular moto gloves, with the heated grips, combined with Barkbusters Storm handguards, on my Honda Forza.
    All in all, these heated gloves work for me, only on long road or motorway trips.

      Heated gloves are and will always be bulky, depends on your scooter and hand size to make it work, I got to the point where I can say I'm ok with them but there was a learning curve of how to keep my hand on the controls to always be ready to use the brakes. They are not necessarily for everyone and with winter gear everyone invents their own system that best suits them and what they do in the winter and how cold it gets in their region. What I am finding now is that the OEM heated grips on the Zontes don't get as hot as the heated grips from oxford even though they technically are 35w per grip and the Oxford ones are 24w per grip. Will have to investigate more.

      @@RideWithAlex Well, I put the genuine Honda grips on my Forza. Since 2023, they simplified the fitment, as there is necessary to only remove the fairnigs on the handlebars. The connector for heated grips is just on the handlebars, and the instructions were simple and the job done quickly. The heat is enough, and I like that the indicator on dashboard was activated without doing any settings.
      Now, as I tend to keep both scooters, even if the Simmy is 49 cc, I am thinking about Oxford heated grips for him.

      Curently the 350E is my only daily, the bmw needs it's road inspection, it expired. And my Symphony still has a noisy engine and I have to open it up 😂

    HI Alex, great showcase. Could you do a showcase about the "cruiscontrol" on your bike? Does it really work?

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The cruise control is just a simple throttle lock from aliexpress, and yes it works beautifully but still a good idea for a future showcase. It's a 3$ item that's esențial for my long distance travels.

    Essential winter commuting gear. How long do they take to charge?

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      About 3-4 hours with their included charger.
