I'm going to pin this on every video tonight. The writing for these episodes was shockingly bad really. Kate was not our Kate. I don't even know what to say at present, I'm just rushing to edit. It's hard viewing because Kate was written out of character. I love them both and I know it was all plot driven so Rana hits rock bottom but it shouldn't be at the expense of Kate's character. Please take that into consideration when commenting. I know it hurts and I'm breaking for Rana :( Thank you as always for putting up with me and sticking with them and the impending angst ALSO, NO Kate & Rana are not over. Far from it. I'd like to think Kate outed her because at the moment she felt like a total coward, watching Zee huffing and puffing around and needed to own up to it instead of standing there with her mouth shut. But probably should've told Rana first. I knew this was gona be a big issue. The whole scene with Aiden though was kinda off.

Come on robert knew, michelle knew if zee would have beaten robert he would hsve told zee the thruth also. Better to hear it from kate herself than hearing it from another person
I'm not that mad at Kate about that, cause like you said she did try to make excuses for Rana until she realized Rana had straight up confessed to having an affair. It does bother me that characters on the show (Kate included) keep outing Rana and it's never addressed why this is a shitty thing to do. People gossip, it happens but goodness there needs to be a discussion so general viewers can understand why it's so damaging to out someone. What came across to me with that line that was like a sucker punch to the heart was her realizing that now that Zee knows it was with a woman, EVERYONE is going to know. Her parents are going to know. It's going to forever change everything in her life going forward and none of this has been her choice.
I agree I think this is the reality though sometimes its out of your control and you are forced to come to terms with it quicker. It happens to people I think they are showing us a more extreme outing and all the confused delayed reactions because it just affects them each on so many different levels especially Rana. Go down in the deep end then swim back up! It sometimes makes the reward that much better.
Just reading the comments in regards to Kate's character and her telling Zeedan it was her - I feel she didn't have much choice and it was already unraveling. If she had not said anything Zee would have gone after others to find the truth, possibly Daniel, another good friend. Also I think Kate is hurting after their split and maybe just relieved for it to be out in the open. I think in this scene Rana's face was an absolute perfect look of horror when she realised Zee knew it was Kate she'd been having an affair with Thanks for uploading so quickly! 👍🏻
Carla Nunez yeah I suppose in that respect Kate would probably be a bit more compassionate and understanding towards Rana. I also think though that Kate is trying to shut down her feelings and when you do that it appears as if you are quite cold to the situation. 😊

The sugar scene was something. It is annoying that Corrie off screened instead of finally breaking their double standard. I do hope they do, when Kana are finally free to be together.
Agreed. Their first time was likely off screen after that amazing "sugar with that" scene. It's the most plausible timing...even if it was cheaply put together by writers (I mean on a mutual lunch break??? Not even a mutual day off?)...and also, in someone else's apt? That someone being not only Kates cousin, but her boss as well?? Overall, keeping these bedroom scenes off camera and giving Kana swanky flop house digs for the deed is all a cheap move imo to a storyline that is about latent self discovery. Rana is coming into a whole new world of feelings and experiences while Kate's moral compass is being put to the test...those 2 angles alone deserve more screen time and parsing through with dialogue and exposition. Like...we have had a boat load of info dumped on us about Pat Phelan and his shady past and undercurrent of evil...how and why the writers can't/won't expand on the internal world of either Rana or Kate is super annoying and borderline insulting. In a way, it suggests that this was all fluff and no substance (which is obvs not the case due to Bhavna and Faye's outstanding acting). I hope writers get it together when it comes time to bring #kana to full fledged realization as the women will eventually become a real couple.
By boatload of Phelan I was referring to all those basement scenes he spent with Andy and those long walks in the park getting to know his out of the blue daughter Nicola....also! We can count the day that Robert caught Kate and Rana in the apt as one of those 5 or 6 times as well. In the scene, after they break their kiss you can see Rana button up her shirt before Kate freaks out and gets up from the couch
i dont think Kate had a choice. she didn't out Rana with malicious intent. she did it because she pretty much had to. Zeedan knew it was someone that worked there. he would've figured it out or beat the wrong person. she had to, unfortunately. this is breaking my heart but i'm also living for the angst and i believe in my heart they'll end up together.
i'm not that mad she told him. i'm mad she outed her and then was nothing but cold towards her afterwards, knowing how hard this was for rana. i would never treat someone i loved like that, no matter how much they hurt me.

I think the turning point for Kate is when Rana didn't tell Zee when she said she would. Rana was going on and on about how she couldn't take the lies and how she wanted to be with Kate. Kate's hopes were high and she was on cloud 9, only to be let down by the woman she loves and who claims to love her. Then the whirlwind began. They were back to square one( like the beginning) both in denial...fighting.. Verbal lashes from Kate, Rana, let's be mates. So much going on at the same time! We all know the bottom line and it CAN NOT be denied is how much they love each other! It's a soap, there will be drama...scratching your head in disbelief at times( like today) . I just hope that in the end these writers get it right and make it happen!!!
fearfullnature I can get behind this explanation. I think her reaction to Rana was out of being plain ole fed-up. You could love someone and still be frustrated and fed-up of their actions.
Also, I actually think it’s obvious that they slept together! The affair has been going on for months and they had the keys to Michelle’s apartment for weeks before Robert found out. I think it was definitely implied that they were using the flat to get... intimate 🙈

shizuma100 I think bad writing of the storyline is mainly to blame as I think Faye acted the best she could given the situation! But still lots more to unfold so will be interesting to see!
I think it starts with the writing but also the directing. It felt so rushed, Kate wouldn’t just leave Rana in the kitchen on her own and head off to her brothers place. Phelan was given too much screen time too, as where several other characters when more care should have been taken with such a pivotal point for Rana, Kate and the Nazeer family.
Hanbl 1696 that is very true! There should have been much more of a story to go along with this, but I can only imagine they are setting the scene for a bigger story to come from it. At least that's what I hope

Now let's get serious and accept that Kate should not tell Zee, it was Rana's thing to do, especially when she ended everything with Rana telling her to back off and now Rana is the one who's hurting, poor baby. I really understand her, because something like this happened to me and I was confused and lost and hurt and didn't know what to do to be right thing. I do like them together, as much as I liked other couples in this show (like Sophie and Sian) and I'm gonna tell you that I don't believe this "relationship" will live either in this never-ending show, unfortunately. Actually we don't have this show in our country, so everything I know about it is from youtube, and thanks for sharing Rana's and Kate's storyline, it means a lot for people like me

I don’t think Kate acted out of character to be honest. I mean okay it wasn’t her usual self but she hasn’t been in that situation before. None of us know how we would act in that moment. It was either fess up or go and let Zee punch an innocent person. Kate never wanted to hurt Zee and with it pushed in her face like that she had to be honest. He would have found out anyway so better from her now. Rana should have told him so she shouldn’t blame Kate for doing so. Yes she’s been sleeping with his wife but keeping it from him and then lying straight to his face is two different things to do so I don’t blame her for telling him. The road is going to get tougher now especially for Rana as I’ve seen a spoiler, there is going to be a dark twist once her family finds out! I just hope that Kana find their way back to eachother and it makes them stronger!
Oh I have no problem in Kate telling him that it was her who was sleeping with Rana. That is definitely like Kate to do, to save anymore hassle. My issue was the the way she handled it after. I wasn't expecting fluffy rainbows etc, just some chit chat between the two before they part ways.
If zee beat every guy in the bistro, everyone on the street will know about the affair. I admire Kate for having balls to admit that it was her to save those guys and not herself. But her, not apologizing to zee for what she did is different
Maybe she's tired. Maybe she is exhausted. Maybe just maybe it took rana to damn long to finally tell the truth. Maybe luke dying her mate still mad at her about what happen with Rana made her a tad bit more numb to it all. All this poor Rana. When rana is the one cheating. All Kate was doing was following her heart. Yes so was Rana but rana didn't break it off with zee. Instead she strung him along. An finally breaks the new to him on the day of his friends funeral. Kate didn't out Rana at all. She had to stop Zeedan going after anyone else (hell, he named names and said he was going after them!) and knew the only thing that would was the truth. She deliberately turned his guns on herself. I think she was exactly in character.

I don't have an issue with Kate outing Rana since she had to do it to prevent Zee from beating up some innocent guy. What I DID have an issue with was Kate's icy attitude afterwards. Yeah I get that she's never really been in Rana's situation but they've had plenty of conversations about it for Kate to know how scary and potentially dangerous this could be for Rana if it ever came out. The cold "I had to" and then causally mentioning that she had an affair with Rana to Aiden while having a beer and a laugh was quite off-putting. Whoever wrote this episode needs to get their shit together... I know that sweet and caring Kate will come back once she finds out what's happened to Rana but some consistency in the writing would be nice.
I agree with you guys on this one the characters change in Kate from one minute to another in these scenes are ridiculous! One minute she can't handle being in the same room with R and Z cause she is still in love with Rana. Then when she learns Rana finally came clean with Z she tells him it was her, but it is over now! I don't get it!?!? She said it with lack of emotion. Terrible writing here!

There will be. As I said the writing was all plot driven in order for Rana to hit rock bottom which is fine we were all prepared for this but we didn't think it would come at the expense of Kate's character. Hopefully one of Kana's top writers steps in to write some episodes soon

Someone coming out of the shower while the other is making tea....or clothes strewn about the room and someone picking up an item of clothing and making a cheeky joke...or someone giving the other a hug and a lil joke "about last night" that hints at deeds done. At least if Corrie writers believe in equality that's what we'll get 😜

My goodness I feel for Zeedan here. . You have to see from his point of view that his wife and friends have been laughing at him. He is a innocent victim in all this. His life is now over in a hurtful way. But what gets me is the way that Kate - kind of callously - told Zeedan without emotion or trepidation. This is not a endearing character that Kate is and Rana? Well this whole episode is about Zeedan and his pain caused by the affair. Both of these are seen as the protagonists who care....But not tonight I'm afraid. Not tonight!

I think Kate still loves Rana. But the way Rana has been acting made Kate more angry. First after Luke death Rana was not there. Then she left town after Sophie kissed. When Kate returned Sophie asked her on a date and Kate said yes after knowing Rana told her to ask. The thing is Kate is really angry at Rana thats why she did not feel remorse for Rana. Kate feel safe with Sophie. Rana did not think Kate will accept Sophie offer. She thinks she lost Kate and did not want to lose zee. Thats why Rana came clean to Zee. I think after Sophie finds out about the affair she might be the one to push Kate towards Rana

Zeedan's reaction to Kate's confession doesn't make too much sense! It seems the reaction of someone that has been watching Corrie for a while! 😂 A more normal reaction would have been the denial, accusing Kate of lying to cover for someone else... The idea of Rana being attracted to Kate should be miles away from his mind!
Kate didnt out Rana in viciousness she had no choice. I think Kate was true to herself, she tried to throw Zee of the scent initially but then he threatened to smash some innocent mans face in and Kate confessed. Kate would never allow someone to get hurt by omission, hence why she eventually ended the affair with Rana because Zee was getting hurt. Rana didnt fess up to the affair being with a woman, which in my opinion was quite dismissive of Kate. This was felt by Kate when Rana said "you shouldnt have told him" ... Kate must have felt rejected again there. I can see both sides of this, and we always knew if would be messy. Now Rana is in panic mode and will try to save her marriage. And Kate is in self protection mode and will start acting cold and dismissive toward Rana in hopes to get over her. Neither woman will be successful and Kana will win out.
Because it was already over before she did it. Rana told him to absolve herself of guilt and to attempt to fix her marriage. That's why I believe that Kate is being cold, because Rana didn't tell him the whole truth and Rana didn't tell him so she could run into Kate's arms. Kate hasn't got what she wanted, and neither has Rana but Rana's insecurities are her issue. She doesn't love herself, or think a lot of herself at all. Rana has to find who she is, believe she is worthy to be loved and find a different kind of courage before her and Kate can be together in the open. Rana still isn't ready to be 'out'. She wanted to be mates with Kate and be there for her. Kate can't handle that, it hurts too much because she loves Rana so much. This is why Kate goes from 0-60
Oh yes absolutely! :) Just obstacles along the waaay. In a way it is a good sign that they're being given such a long storyline. It'll be worth it in the end. We feel very confident!

That someone being not only Kates cousin, but her boss as well?? Overall, keeping these bedroom scenes off camera and giving Kana swanky flop house digs for the deed is all a cheap move imo to a storyline that is about latent self discovery. Rana is coming into a whole new world of feelings and experiences while Kate's moral compass is being put to the test...those 2 angles alone deserve more screen time and parsing through with dialogue and exposition. Like...we have had a boat load of info dumped on us about Pat Phelan and his shady past and undercurrent of evil...how and why the writers can't/won't expand on the internal world of either Rana or Kate is super annoying and borderline insulting. In a way, it suggests that this was all fluff and no substance (which is obvs not the case due to Bhavna and Faye's outstanding acting). I hope writers get it together when it comes time to bring #kana to full fledged realization as the women will eventually become a real couple.
By boatload of Phelan I was referring to all those basement scenes he spent with Andy and those long walks in the park getting to know his out of the blue daughter Nicola....also! We can count the day that Robert caught Kate and Rana in the apt as one of those 5 or 6 times as well. In the scene, after they break their kiss you can see Rana button up her shirt before Kate freaks out and gets up from the couch
i dont think Kate had a choice. she didn't out Rana with malicious intent. she did it because she pretty much had to. Zeedan knew it was someone that worked there. he would've figured it out or beat the wrong person. she had to, unfortunately.

I think the turning point for Kate is when Rana didn't tell Zee when she said she would. Rana was going on and on about how she couldn't take the lies and how she wanted to be with Kate. Kate's hopes were high and she was on cloud 9, only to be let down by the woman she loves and who claims to love her. Then the whirlwind began. They were back to square one( like the beginning) both in denial...fighting.. Verbal lashes from Kate, Rana, let's be mates. So much going on at the same time! We all know the bottom line and it CAN NOT be denied is how much they love each other! It's a soap, there will be drama...scratching your head in disbelief at times( like today) . I just hope that in the end these writers get it right and make it happen!!!
fearfullnature I can get behind this explanation. I think her reaction to Rana was out of being plain ole fed-up. You could love someone and still be frustrated and fed-up of their actions.

I think it starts with the writing but also the directing. It felt so rushed, Kate wouldn’t just leave Rana in the kitchen on her own and head off to her brothers place. Phelan was given too much screen time too, as where several other characters when more care should have been taken with such a pivotal point for Rana, Kate and the Nazeer family.
Its a Soap they never have that much time they film very fast.

I really understand her, because something like this happened to me and I was confused and lost and hurt and didn't know what to do to be right thing. I do like them together, as much as I liked other couples in this show (like Sophie and Sian) and I'm gonna tell you that I don't believe this "relationship" will live either in this never-ending show, unfortunately. I don’t think Kate acted out of character to be honest. I mean okay it wasn’t her usual self but she hasn’t been in that situation before. None of us know how we would act in that moment. It was either fess up or go and let Zee punch an innocent person. Kate never wanted to hurt Zee and with it pushed in her face like that she had to be honest. He would have found out anyway so better from her now. Rana should have told him so she shouldn’t blame Kate for doing so. Yes she’s been sleeping with his wife but keeping it from him and then lying straight to his face is two different things to do so I don’t blame her for telling him. The road is going to get tougher now especially for Rana as I’ve seen a spoiler, there is going to be a dark twist once her family finds out! I just hope that Kana find their way back to eachother and it makes them stronger!
Oh I have no problem in Kate telling him that it was her who was sleeping with Rana. That is definitely like Kate to do, to save anymore hassle. My issue was the the way she handled it after. I wasn't expecting fluffy rainbows etc, just some chit chat between the two before they part ways.

I don't have an issue with Kate outing Rana since she had to do it to prevent Zee from beating up some innocent guy. What I DID have an issue with was Kate's icy attitude afterwards. Yeah I get that she's never really been in Rana's situation but they've had plenty of conversations about it for Kate to know how scary and potentially dangerous this could be for Rana if it ever came out. The cold "I had to" and then causally mentioning that she had an affair with Rana to Aiden while having a beer and a laugh was quite off-putting. Whoever wrote this episode needs to get their shit together... I know that sweet and caring Kate will come back once she finds out what's happened to Rana but some consistency in the writing would be nice.

There will be. As I said the writing was all plot driven in order for Rana to hit rock bottom which is fine we were all prepared for this but we didn't think it would come at the expense of Kate's character. Hopefully one of Kana's top writers steps in to write some episodes soon

At least if Corrie writers believe in equality that's what we'll get 😜

Everything can't happen in a single episode! It was already a well loaded one!

My goodness I feel for Zeedan here. . You have to see from his point of view that his wife and friends have been laughing at him. He is a innocent victim in all this. His life is now over in a hurtful way. But what gets me is the way that Kate - kind of callously - told Zeedan without emotion or trepidation. This is not a endearing character that Kate is and Rana? Well this whole episode is about Zeedan and his pain caused by the affair. Both of these are seen as the protagonists who care....But not tonight I'm afraid. Not tonight!
I agree but i feel like they did it like that because Kate always felt Zee was a good friend and maybe at that moment when she actually saw him breaking down she felt horrible and decided to own up to the affair. Although it would make more sense to have said nothing because obviously Rana didn't say who it was for fear of what would happen to Kate. Kate should've tried to contact Rana first. Ya.. then the whole scene after was kinda off.. Almost like they were trying to rush it all for suspense.

I think Kate still loves Rana. But the way Rana has been acting made Kate more angry. First after Luke death Rana was not there. Then she left town after Sophie kissed. When Kate returned Sophie asked her on a date and Kate said yes after knowing Rana told her to ask. The thing is Kate is really angry at Rana thats why she did not feel remorse for Rana. Kate feel safe with Sophie. Rana did not think Kate will accept Sophie offer. She thinks she lost Kate and did not want to lose zee. Thats why Rana came clean to Zee. I think after Sophie finds out about the affair she might be the one to push Kate towards Rana

Kate didnt out Rana in viciousness she had no choice. I think Kate was true to herself, she tried to throw Zee of the scent initially but then he threatened to smash some innocent mans face in and Kate confessed. Kate would never allow someone to get hurt by omission, hence why she eventually ended the affair with Rana because Zee was getting hurt.
Rana didnt fess up to the affair being with a woman, which in my opinion was quite dismissive of Kate. This was felt by Kate when Rana said "you shouldnt have told him" ... Kate must have felt rejected again there.
I can see both sides of this, and we always knew if would be messy. Now Rana is in panic mode and will try to save her marriage. And Kate is in self protection mode and will start acting cold and dismissive toward Rana in hopes to get over her. Neither woman will be successful and Kana will win out.

Because it was already over before she did it. Rana told him to absolve herself of guilt and to attempt to fix her marriage. That's why I believe that Kate is being cold, because Rana didn't tell him the whole truth and Rana didn't tell him so she could run into Kate's arms. Kate hasn't got what she wanted, and neither has Rana but Rana's insecurities are her issue. She doesn't love herself, or think a lot of herself at all. Rana has to find who she is, believe she is worthy to be loved and find a different kind of courage before her and Kate can be together in the open. Rana still isn't ready to be 'out'. She wanted to be mates with Kate and be there for her. Kate can't handle that, it hurts too much because she loves Rana so much. This is why Kate goes from 0-60
