    Suggest ko dapat provided kayo ng calculation din engr. Para mas okay. Yung sinasbai niyo na positioning ng rebar nacoconsider yung sa calculation so yung effective depth mo magvavary ngayon kung san mo ilalagay yung rebar mo then icheck mo bending moment mo kung ok then saka mo macocompute shear studs size and spacing mo.

      Tama po, check lang natin kung hindi mabubutas kasi may mga Steeldeck na manipis ang gauge, pag nabutas huwag natin ituloy ilagay nyo nalang yung bars along bottom of flute kahit every other flute para hindi madyado magastos, use 10mm, hook and tie at one end (far-most side of beam). Also important din yung extra bars at every top of support yung sinabi ko sa video na extended at L/4 each side of interior beams. Thanks

    Nice video Engr, thanks for the valuable information. Agree ako sa suggestion to add more steel, it is not a waste of money pero added strength sa flooring. I have seen similar construction (sa middle east) at 2 rebars pa nilagay. Hindi ko alam kung tama ba na lagyan ng 1 inch spacer (between rebars to metal decking) para magkaroon ng concrere cover ang mga rebars. Well done, keep up the good work and God bless.

    Sir salamat sa info sa tamang reinforcement ng steel deck. Pero para sa akin, isabay buhos ko yung beam at slab para monolithic at para din sa tamang sukat ng effective depth ng beam ayon sa theory.

    Additional info po, yong grove ng steeldek dapat along short span ng slab para mas matibay. Also, pag lampas na po 4.5mtrs yong length ng slab/steeldeck, recommend po lagyan ng lintel beam along long span to allow or avoid sagging ng slab/steeldeck. Thanks

      Ang direction po ng steel deck kung bakit along the shorter dimension is because steel decking follows the principle of one way slab where main bars are placed along the shorter direction

    Sir, sa makatuwid po unnecessary yung nilalagay nila na rebar mat (usually spaced 200mm both ways) na nakapatong sa steel deck at ang importante lang po pala is yung sa top bar na nasa beam location extending perpendicular to the beam, and may I know po sir saan po dapat ito naka hook?

    Dapat ang bilhin na steel deck ay yong may mga depressions pra may shear keys. Yong profiled plain steel ay pang-bubong lng without concrete. Sobrang nipis ng steel deck kya hindi advisable n magweld ng shear rods at tsaka may calculation yon pra malaman ang spacing (depende rin s shear capacity ng joint between steel deck and shear rod which I think very small considering the thickness of the steel deck).

    Shear studs should be welded to the flange of a steel beam. Hindi puede weld to the deck, Di ba?

    Suggestions lang sir..mas maigi gamitin yung stud na weldable..ang rebar na ginagamit sa site are not recommended to weld (ASTM 615) ang weldable po ay ang ASTM706..

      May mga designer hindi naglalagay sa discontinuous-end, but ako nag lalagay, L/5 space at 300 same size sa intermediate support. Thanks

      Check po ninyo sa mga brochures ng steeldeck meron sila ready-made na table model and design gauge for a given spacing and loads. You dont need to design. Yan advise po natin sa video is to guide those who are using it improperly but if anyone who will follow the brochures from the supplier you dont have to provide those bars that I mentioned in the video. Also advisable lang po yan sa mga span more than 3meters. Thanks

      Hindi na po need yung bakal sa baba kung meron ng bar na patayo, enough na yan para kumapit yung steeldeck sa concrete (option 1 and 2 yan), but yung extra bar sa top support kailangan talaga. Make sure lang po na applyan nyo ng epoxy primer yung mga welding "spots" pati dun sa ilalim ng deck para hindi mag simula ang rust. Salamat

      Kung napili nyo naman yung bakal sa baba, itali lang ng tie wire no need to weld, kahit every other flute para hindi masyado magastos, 10mm lang yung size. Advisable po yan for a span of 3meters or more. Kung may question pa tanong lang po kayo. Salamat

      Ang ma ipapayo ko po, bilhin ninyo yung kung saan kayo makakatipid. Ang importante dyan kumausap kayo ng installer who has long years of experience in installing steel decks, dapat alam nila kung paano ilalagay yung mga extra bars na hindi masyadong marami pero nasa tamang location

    What's the purpose of the corrugations, ribs and indentations on the steel deck? Do they not prevent slippage or disattachment of concrete from the surface of the steel deck?

      Yes, that is absolutely the purpose of it. However, there are no clear consensus about the effectivity of such features especially on generic or unbranded products.
      As a designer we always treat every condition in a worst -case scenario, and my video explains it in general about "how to properly reinforce" in case those things happen. FYI

    Engr. Kung yung span ng steelfecking is 3 meters or less. Ideally pa rin ba maglagay nung additional rebar sa ilalim?

      Sa tingin ko midspan pwede hindi na for 3m or less, but top bar at support mag provide kayo at least 30cm o.c. spacing

      Practical computation nyan, dapat alam nyo kung ilan ang tao na gagawa, how many days gagawin especially yung steeldeck installation. Then times rate per day.
      Roughly mag karoon kayo ng idea, syempre yung rate ng tao varies depende sa skill, at kalakaran sa lugar ninyo. Thanks

      Parehas din po ng conventional concrete slab, after 1week pwede na mag bawas ng support mga 50percent, iwasan lang natin mag lagay ng stockpile especially sa midspan for at least 3weeks

      As far as I know steeldeck are normally treat as one-way slab because of its corrugation, I cant figureout how some are treating it as two-way, except they dont know how to use it properly

      I suggest skip mo nalang ang bakal sa lahat ng may electrical conduit para hindi congested walang kaso yan mas importante kasi yung extra top bar sa support

    Hindi po ba may tulong yung steeldeck sa tension? Kc pag naglagay tayo ng additional steel bar sa bottom kawawa naman yung electrician jan paano nya ilalagay yung junction box at mga pvc pipe nya.. hindi po ba sir kaya po tayo mah steeldeck para makatipid sa bakal kc yung steeldeck din dagdag strength sa may tension?       Correct po, dual function ang steeldeck kaya naging popular sa floor construction, but ang sinasabi po natin sa video kung masisiguro natin yung adhesion between concrete and steeldeck walang problema, kaya isa sa mga paraan nag lalagay tayo ng shear studs like we mentioned in our video. But pwede rin nama every other flute ang dowels para may room for utilities. Salamat po sa comment

    Accordingly, dapat d nakalapat bakal sa steel deck to avoid corrosion, pero d ba nagiispat din Ng bakal sa kanila?

      Maliit naman ang chances ng corrosion especially kung interior slab (not directly expose to weather). Kasi ganun din naman gingawa ng marami sa regular rebar / meshwire they place directly on top the steeldeck flute( naka dikit din).
      But pwede rin naman maglagay ng concrete spacer to avoid physical contact. Sa welding spots, normally we apply epoxy primer only on weld points. Thanks

      Yes, but carefull on locations especially where bending is maximum. However, it is better if you anticipate hole locations before pouring in order to provide adequate dowels around it. Thanks

      Minimum 100mm from top of flute, so it depends on deck profile, ex. If flute depth is 20mm total depth will be 120mm. I hope that answers your question. Thanks

      Wala naman issue kahit naka dikit kasi permanent structure ang steeldeck, ok din naman kung lagyan ng spacer but not more than 25mm. Thanks

      Heat transfer cannot be prevented whatever material we use especially in tropical countries like Philippines. The solution is to place an insulation underneath if it really needed. Thanks

      @@mrroy2187 Meron gumagawa sa ibabaw but it would be very expensive and I doubt few contractors know how to do it, its a special technology. I suggest, mag lagay ka nalang ng ceiling with enough room between ceiling and steeldeck para may air-circulation. Then kung gusto mo mag lagay ka pa din ng insulation sa ibabaw ng ceiling I'm sure it will make a difference. thanks

      Pero sir yung tapos na nabuhosan lahat o buong beam bali ,pinatong nalang yong steel deck after pwede po ba yon? Parang kahoy pinatong nalang sa, isang dahoy na beam, pwede ba yon sa steel deck?

      @@clifordlanojan953 Still possible, just roughen top surface no need to expose rebar, then place your decking on top existing beam (at least 2" sitting). I suggest provide stud(16mm dowel) drilled @ 600mm apart epoxied for proper adhesion between old and new concrete. I hope that helps. Thanks

      Sir, bigla lang po ako naguluhan.. So, kapag based sa dimension ng slab is two-way slab po, hindi po ba pwede gamitin ang steel deck? Sana po masagot niyo ang gumugulo sa isip ko po kasi lahat ng nakikita ko nagco-construct is naka steel deck lahat kahit two-way.

      Depende sa profile ng metaldeck, but normally 75mm excluding flute. If flute is shallow, say less than 20mm use 100mm concrete thickness. Thanks
